Motorola Droid :: Media Center Mode - Dimmed Clock - And Button Lights
Apr 4, 2010I have found ( and I willing to bet many already know this) that the sensor in the upper right side of the screen is what determines if the button lights are on or off. In a well lit room the lights will be off, if you cover that sensor or darken the room the lights come on.
What we need is someone smarter than I am to make an app or widget that disables that sensor when the phone is in the dock, if that is possible.
Media : Customize Specific System Notifications?
Mar 1, 2010Basically I would really enjoy the ability to customize the sound for plugging my phone in, and a different one for unplugging. Even better if these could be "outside" the default notification sounds. I realize this sounds crazy, but my phone has a mario theme to it, and the plug in is "gain a mushroom" sound, and I would love it if it did the "loose a powerup" sound when I unplugged.

Sep 20, 2010I missed mytouch from when I had tmobile and got the Samsung intercept from sprint(back to my old plan) and I love it. However I've always loved on sprint phones being able to customize absolutely everything. I could make a ringer for someone when they call(which yes, I know how to do this on my android and have) but I also was able to make a special text/sms/notification ringtone for individuals as well. I only like hearing the message alert for certain people and then silent/vibrate for everyone else so it's getting frustrating. Are there any apps that do this? or any way to at all?

Oct 3, 2010So when i either put my droid in my car mount or i press the "car/home" app, my phone goes into car mode. here i have 2 screens to choose from. the first screen has 6 buttons all with applications in them, the second screen has 6 buttons but only 3 have applications in them. question is, is there a way to customize the other 3 buttons and pit an application in them or am i stuck staring at 3 empty buttons forever?

Also, is there a way to customize these in any of the UI's?For example, unless you leave them so large that you can only get 4 per screen, you only get the first name of the contact.What I want to do is be able to make the print smaller and have first name, last name.I don't care about the photo. I want to set them up so they automatically dial the preferred phone number when I touch them, not bring up the contact where I now have to click on the task I want (call a certain number, text a certain number, email, etc.).Seems rather fundamental and common sense but after playing with it for quite some time and searching here, haven't come up with anything.

Motorola Droid : How To Customize LED Light Settings?
Nov 9, 2009Anybody know how to customize the LED light settings? I've managed to change the indicator light color for handcent sms, but I've had no luck digging through the menus for any other options. It seems that the light is capable of multiple colors. I'm thinking a cycle when the phone rings would be pretty cool. Any ideas?

Aug 22, 2013I just got a car dock for my S4 and have been looking at various car apps (car home ultra, etc). I can't seem to find one that has everything I want...
-map showing a 3d view like a nav screen and current media album cover with playskip buttons, roughly like this car radio: [URL] .....

CarHomeUltra seems to be the most popular and it is nice. I find myself jumping back and forth between map and whatever media app I am using (stitcher/pandora/mp3) The UI for it is just a launcher really... could be done with a home screen I think. It has some other nice features I guess. Just looking for more "widget" type things (3d map, album cover) to add to the screen... with more flexibility on placement. With a large screen device like out these days, a few more buttons would still be tapped aesily while driving.
Is there anything like CarHomeUltra but better?

Jun 12, 2010I'm using the android mediaplayer to display videos and i try to implement two modes:
The first one is a simple fullscreen mode which scales the video to the maxiumum maintainable aspect ratio. Depending on the video size there are black bars on top/bottom or left/right. The second mode should scale the video to fill the full screen but to keep the aspect ratio. That means either the width or the height has to be cropped.
And that is the problem. How to crop a video? For ImageView there is a scale type "crop_center" which crops the image on a predefined rectable. Is there a similiar solution for video? If i set the surface view to a bigger size than its parent container the surface view is automatically scaled to fill parent. Next try was to set negative margins in the parent layout but in vain. Another try was to place the surface view in a scrollview which also leads to strange behaviour. Any ideas?

Aug 18, 2010My bluetooth headset(altech lansing backbeat) keeps loseing its media mode whenever i reboot or connect another headset. I have to do a complete repair cycle with the headset powered off then back on inorder to get the phone to reconize the headset as media mode ready. Has anyone else had this issue?
