Dec 1, 2013I recently updated my T-Mobile S3 to 4.3, experienced the usual bugs but worked through them.
I just bought a new Miracast capable smart tv (LG LN5700). When attempting to connect using the new screen mirroring option, the wifi direct connection is successful, the tv recognizes that the connecion is made, but the screen goes black and eventually the connection dies. My girlfriend also has an S3 on Sprint running 4.2 and hers works just fine.

Nov 25, 2013I use isyncr to sync my iTunes playlists to my Note 3. But whenever I open poweramp the playlists doesn't get updated with the new tracks. I have to delete the existing playlist and scan for tracks/playlists again for it to be added.

Nov 14, 2013I recently got a samsung galaxy s4 mini with android 4.2 I noticed that if I have an alarm set for a specific time, and I happen to be on a phone call at that time, the alarm will not go off. Instead of vibrating and playing the required sounds, it will simply beep a couple times and that's it. I understand that it can't play any sounds while I'm on the phone, but is there any way to at least get it to vibrate at the time of the alarm?

Nov 16, 2013I purchased my first smartphone last week, a Windows Lumia. I am returning the phone tomorrow because Microsoft forces the user to sync contacts, calendar, and documents if the user wants to download apps. I find this a huge privacy invasion. What a shame Microsoft doesn't give me q choice to disable this syncing.
so, before I waste even more money...does Android allow me to download apps AND disable syncing of phone contacts, cal, pictures, etc?I will return this phone anway and NEVER own a smartphone.
General :: Facebook And Contact Sync With Jelly Bean On New Note 2
Jan 28, 2013Last week I purchased a new Note 2 (which I love!) and one of the first things I did was to sync with my Google account and get my Google contacts installed back on the phone. Second thing was to install the Facebook app and sync my Google contacts with their appropriate FB profile photos, account info from Facebook. However, upon telling Facebook to sync with currently existing contacts, I noticed that my Contacts list was now populated with *ALL* of my facebook friends.
Previously on my Evo 4G running Gingerbread 2.3.5, this worked perfectly. My Google contacts were the only contacts listed but their FB profile data showed up just fine. I seen there were some 3rd party apps on the Play Store that will do this, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do it with just the original FB app.
General :: Call Blocking On Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Sep 28, 2013i recently updated from ics to jelly bean 4.1.2 on my Samsung galaxy s2 on 02 uk network, i have noticed a few different issues since the update though regarding blocking calls and i notice the feature isnt as good since the update
previously on ics when blocking a number, once a number called they would be present with "dud a duh sound" which made the phone sound like the number was disconnected it would also not divert the blocked number to the voice mail
since doing a test on jelly bean when blocking a number, it now diverts them to the voice mail, and what's more annoying is once a blocked number calls it seems to one ring on my phone and then divert them to the voice mail, similar to as if i was cancelling there call every time, which is no were near as effective
ive just tried an app called mr number and this is the same, although this does have the option of a "hangup feature" and a send to "voicemail feature" again when the blocked number calls it seems to one ring and then either be disconnected or diverted to the voicemail, which again is like your cancelling there call every time after one ring
on ics when blocking the number they were never presented with the ring tone on there end, they were only presented with the sound of a disconnected line etc. How i can get that feature back???, without using mr number which doesn't do it as well
id like it to be like it was with ics, so basically the blocked number doesn't even get the chance to to be diverted to voice mail or to be not connected at all??? and certainly so it doesnt one ring on my end before the divert/block kicks in, on ics the blocked number never got that far, it was blocked instantly and presented with the disconnected sound, and then i was shown on my phone a log they had attempted to call., i also dont want to give the impression im cancelling the call on my end, as like ics, this was a good feature as certain people would just think your unreachable, know when a blocked contact calls with the new system under jelly bean it looks like your cancelling there call everytime after a one ring.
also is it still not possible to block text messages from certain spam numbers?

I've also tried a buncha different dialers but I think if the rom doesn't allow it then no dialer would make a difference...

Feb 18, 2014I am using a locally made make of phone called a Firefly. My last phone was a samsung, which was way too small and too slow.
When I first added my google account to my andoid phone, I thought nothing of it syncing the contacts. I did not realize that google had kindly created a contact for every single person I had ever emailed in my entire life. For most people, I am sure that this is quite an accurate list, but I manage a business, so I get lots of emails from people and systems that I never need on my phone.
When I first noticed this, I disabled syncing of contacts and manually removed all the contacts from my phonebook. This left me with a nice neat list of contacts. Great. But... When I go to send a text message and add a recipient, I am displayed with a gigantic list of thousands of contacts, most of whom are email addresses and at least 98% of whom are people I would never ever want to send a text message to.
I have searched everywhere, but can not find any way to access this contact list within my phone so I can clean it. The only solution I have been able to find is to first delete all contacts from google, then enable sync, then disable sync after it completes. This is really not ideal as I need these contacts in my google account, but not on my phone.

Nov 14, 2013I'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.

Apr 4, 2014Using a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3. I use the swipe feature to unlock the phone.
If the phone is unlocked when I answer an incoming call, I can use all of the phones features, including Mute, Speakerphone, etc.
However, if the phone is LOCKED when I answer an incoming call, I cannot unlock the phone. Pressing the main button does not bring up the screen to enter my password. It just stays blank. Therefore no Mute, no Speakerphone, no access to contacts, etc. By default, you can't even end a call! If someone called me and just put me on hold, I would have to pull the battery to hang up. Fortunately I have set the power button to hang up calls, but that doesn't really fix the overall problem.
So, how do I get the phone to at least let me unlock it when in this situation.

Oct 9, 2013I deleted my call logs Monday. I needed space on my phone. Didn't think I'd need those logs anymore. But we were expecting mail (snail) from a travel company through which we are taking a trip to Oregon and it hasn't come. We don't know their name (forgot) but I had a call from them and made a call to them a week or four before I cleared the call logs. If there was any way to get them back, I could get their number.
My carrier is Solavei (on the T-Mobile network) and they do not yet have detailed call logs to see in Activity online and it's all online. I can't use them to find the number.

Jan 4, 2013I've recently bought a MKT6577 Galaxy 3 clone - HDC S9380.
The phone is running on Jelly Bean 4.1.1
Whenever I'm making an outgoing call there is a call connected vibration when the call is picked up by the other side, the feature is nice, but the problem is that the person I'm calling is able to hear this vibration in their phone. Is there a way to disable this vibration, or delay the microphone initiation?
I already tried changing all the sound and vibration settings in the phone without any success.

Nov 20, 2013how come it loads slow accessing my phone/memory card items when connected to any PC, even using usb 3.0 cable or 2.0 cable, my SD card is a sandisk class 10 from my gopro so its not the sd card. and the way you view pictures is also different, example, in windows you can click on a picture in the folder and use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the pictures using left and right, but when trying to do that with the pictures connected through the phone i can't, and i cant edit pictures on the phone with right click like in windows as well.
my old g2x wasn't like this, access was just like viewing any other item on windows fast speed and able to edit picture files still on the phone,this is on a Galaxy Note 3 btw.

Jan 23, 2014OK so I'm loving the note 3 so far but I need a laptop. I really want a macbook pro 13 inch with retina display for school and recreational use. My mind is pretty much set for this laptop although expensive I'm sure it will last me through college (tenth grade atm) and that's what I want. Anyway my main concern is that my phone won't sync well with the laptop and I want to be able to download stuff onto my phone, along with seeing my videos and photos. Even though its an Apple computer will it work just as well as an iPhone would with this laptop?
