View 5 RepliesI got my new Desire at the weekend and set up Facebook on it.
The issue I have is that my sister has our home number listed on her Facebook profile as a contact number. I have linked this profile to her contact.
I have also set up 'Home' as a person on the phone. But when the home number calls me, it shows it as being my sister calling rather than home.
Is there anyway to remove the home number from my sister's contact details without de-syncing her Facebook profile?
My phone doesn't have a phone call log and contact app after updating 4.3.

I was wondering if there is something in the settings or an app that will make phone call pics larger. When someone calls me, their pic is kind of small.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find out how to choose which contact phone number to call. I'm talking about if I have a mobile number and home number programed to one name.
I'm sure this is an easy thing to do, I just can't figure it out right now.
The Situation or: what I'm looking for:
1. Nexus 7 with Google Contacts app
2. Non-android phone (Nokia N8 etc.) or really any dumb phone paired to Nexus 7 via bluetooth.
3. Select phone number from Contacts on Nexus 7 -> connected phone dials the number
4. Talk on phone.
As I have a very extensive and nicely organized list of contacts in my "People" app (Google Contacts) on the Nexus 7, I would just like to be able to select a number there and have the bluetooth-connected dumb phone place the call, so I just need to pick up the phone and talk, not dial the number manually on the phone.
Right now, when I select a number in the Contacts app on the Nexus 7, Skype - of all things - starts and wants to dial that number apparently. Instead of Skype, I want the number to be sent to the connected bluetooth phone. Surely that HAS to be possible somehow?
Even though this should only require a simple ATD command to be sent out via bluetooth and it's a functionality that every automobile bluetooth setup can do (dial from the steering wheel etc. -> connected phone places the call), I couldn't find one single, small app that does that.
In the PC world, this is sometimes known as CTI (computer telephony integration), basically you dial a number on your Windows PC (e.g. using on-board "dialer.exe" or using Outlook, and your phone places the call). So now I'm basically looking for a simple, one-way TTI (tablet telephone integration).
I did find Tablet Talk, which looks very nice, but this one needs a client software to be installed on the phone, which therefore has to be Android, so it's unusable for my case. I'm pretty much looking for a universal solution here, i.e. Android tablet to any dumb or smart bluetooth-enabled phone (or even another android for that matter), which, given that bluetooth is a universally specified protocol, shouldn't be much of a problem, in my limited understanding.
From my point of view, to problems or "routines" would have to be solved/written in an app that does this:
1.) Get the Google Contacts app ("People") on the android tablet to send numbers via bluetooth or to our "middleware app" (to be named) instead of sending those numbers to the Skype app (which might just be a quirky configuration on my Nexus 7, but it illustrates the use case).
2.) ATD command to phone via bluetooth, sent from the tablet
within People application, how to copy and/or move contact from SIM to Phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my Desire a few days ago, and so far i am very pleased with it (coming from a Nokia N95 8GB). I do find the contact handling somewhat counter intuitive however. For example , i have some contacts from facebook for which i have no other contacts created, but i need to add additional information (in particular phone numbers). I do not seem to be able to add information to a facebook contact. Do i really need to manually create another contact, then manually give it the same name and then link it to the facebook profile in order to have a place to add the phone number?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have some contacts that are NOT facebook contacts or on any social networks! I want to be able to display their photo from a photo on my phone, or indeed a photo that I have bluetoothed from my PC. However, when I do this, it asks me to 'crop' the photo, which I do, and it simply displays just the top of their head in the little thumbnail! Even if I DONT crop it, I still get the top of their head.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSome contacts have different phone numbers. And when I send group SMS, the message is sent to the first number of the contact. So is there a software that can reorganize the position of the phone numbers? So that the mobile numbers are the first in the list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedProbably an obvious way of doing this, but I can't for the life of me find a way to edit/delete my contact card on the phone. Neither clicking or long pressing on it yields an edit button. Is it buried in a menu somewhere?
View 8 Replies View RelatedHow do I retain the usage of phone's contact picture instead of Facebook sync's pics? I just sync'ed and some of my contacts (that are also on Facebook) still used the original picture from my phone while some used FB's profile picture. is there an option that if the contact has picture already on the phone, then don't use FB's profile picture?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWouldn't the best thing to do when you enter and store a new number would be to just create the contact under your google gmail? that way theres always a copy of all your contacts online? I'm fairly new to the desire so an I missing something, why would anyone want to save to the phone or sim as provided in the options when you save a new contact. what would be the best way to backup your contact if you saved it via sim or phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a built in car system that connects to the phone via bluetooth. Unfortunately, this system will not read the phonebook directly from the phone, and you need to transfer the phonebook via bluetooth to the car system.
On my old phone (Samsung i8910), you were able to go into contacts, mark all the contacts and then transfer them via bluetooth.
On the DHD I cannot seem to find an option for this. Any ideas how I can achieve this?
I just purchased my new HTC desire and i have a problem : 1) Adding a new contact number to either phone or Google account. Name/surname are saved but the phone number doesn't get saved; so when editing the contact, no phone number appears. Then, when gonig under Phone and typing the letters of the name just added, i can find it in the drop list of "guessed names" with the number right under the name. I want to be able to view my contact and see the phone number from the application People; and that's impossible now because of this problem.

My phone will keep cutting off in the middle of calls for no reason. First time I thought it might be my cheek or something pressing against the "end call" button whilst talking, but after this happening about ten times since I've had the phone in two weeks, I'm pretty sure theres something wrong with my phone. That or whoevers calling me has problems with their phone :
At one point the sound just cut off mid-call andalthough I could hear the person on the other end they couldnt hear me...
I don't know whether this is a HTC Desire problem noted before or it might just be my handset.. I went to an Orange store who said maybe the sensor at the top of the phone was not picking up on my "being there" by me holding it badly or something but i have no clue.
I bought a Desire two days ago, and realized yesterday that, when i call someone, the phone goes directly in lock mode and can not be unlocked anymore The only way to unlock it without pulling the battery, is by hanging up with the handsfree kit. OR if the person i call hangs up. Which never happens when you call a voice mail for example.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire over a month now, we've had some teething problems but this is the most consistent one - there's no call waiting notification on my phone. I've missed about 3 calls and several texts while in another call, but my phone doesn't give me any indication that there is something else going on.
Some cursory googling found that other people have had their Desire make weird noises instead of a call waiting tone, but mine has nothing at all. Anyone have this happen to them or any ideas how to fix it? Although I'm fairly happy around technology I'm not too keen to root my phone, what with warranties and insurance and stuff.
When my phone is in its holder in my car, and i am on a call, my phone will lock, meaning to end the call i have to unlock the screen (using power button) to unlock before i can end call.Is there a better solution? justs gets a chore to hang the phone up.

When I make a call the screen goes blank, but I cannot get it back again, even if I press the button on the top of the phone. None of the other touch button function either meaning the only way to finish a call is to pull the battery out!
Does HTC Desire...
1) Comes with native call recording functionality?
2) Support call recording with 3rd party applications? (not using the speakerphone)
