I've been trying to find out how to choose which contact phone number to call. I'm talking about if I have a mobile number and home number programed to one name.
I'm sure this is an easy thing to do, I just can't figure it out right now.

I've been dealing with this for quite a while - I'm finally just getting fed up with it to the point where I'm actually doing something about it. I use GV exclusively probably half of the entries in my phone history appear as "unknown". Its also hit-or-miss if the contact's name appears when i dial out or when they're ringing in. Also, when me and another contact call each other back and forth several times, sometimes their info appears, sometimes they appear as "(unknown)" -- its baffling me.

On my Sprint Katana, when you clicked on the phone number in the call log, you had the choice to edit or append the number. On my Hero, when I press on the phone number, it calls it? Am I missing a step, or not holding the press long enough? I have searched and read as many as come up under a search, but I can't find any that address it from the call log issue.

I am assuming so by the way the manual is written. I have tried to follow the instructions on page 34 of the manual "adding a number to an entry in People". Step 2 directions do not exist. "Tap ADD>PHONE". I do not see that as an option. Am I missing something?

Ok this is not a facebook question as all the others appear to be. however im not sure what is wrong, but whenever i make a call or get an incomming phone call from people in my phone book it no longer displays their photo, weather it is a facebook linked photo or a picture i linked from my SD card.

Problem is the picture selection seems to be completely random. Some contact pictures are from gmail, some contact pictures are from fbook and some are from gmail when I first setup the phone and never changed. Is there an easy way to help the phone 'decide' which photo to go with?

Whenever I make or receive a call, the name is shown, and the phone number is shown underneath the name instead of the type that the number is associated with.Any way to show the type (mobile, work, home) instead of the number itself? Otherwise are we supposed to memorize which numbers belong to work, mobile, or home?I don't even see any icons, or colour changes that would signify one of the types.

I've noticed that in the People app, the phone numbers are formatted like this: (xxx) yyyzzzz but phone numbers that are used in message fields such as "Send Message" are formatted (xxx) yyy-zzzz. Is there any way to have the phone numbers formatted using the dash? Why, you ask? Because it's easier to read when you are looking up a phone number to give to someone; and I'm old, so don't laugh at me! GMail's contacts formats them all with a dash, but I can't find a way to make the Hero do so.

On the Instinct you put in the numbers with a pause in the string which allowed you to delay entry of saved access codes until the right time. Is there a way to do this on the Hero?

Bourne to Blog: Negotiating with your Mobile Phone Carrier. I wanted to upgrade to an Android phone, but this would require a "data plan". Some time ago, I was told that since I wanted to keep my plan, I could add unlimited data for an additional $30/month and keep the plan. However, about a month ago, I emailed customer service wanting to do this with the Android phone. They told me can't do this with the Android phone, you'll have to switch to data plan (essentially losing my plan).
So, here's what I did: My dad got me an Android on his "Family Plan" along with my step-mom and step-sister. To add me onto his plan is just an additional $20 per month. So, this made the most economical sense (since I wasn't about to give up my old phone and plan).
I have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off

So I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.

Also, recently (as in today). My phone has been sending messages to other people, randomly. I got a phone call from my mother but it popped up as a totally different number.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I got my Hero in November, I've been able to use the internet while on a phone call through my Bluetooth headset.I've done it hundreds of times.Everything from surfing the web to clicking and viewing picture links in Twitter texts.Suddenly, tonight, I tried to do it and noticed that I had no internet connection.As soon as I hung up from the call, the internet kicked back on.I looked up what I was trying to look up and when I got another phone call, it kicked off again.I have looked up this issue and have read repeatedly that you can't do this on a CDMA network.My question is this...why was I able to do it for months and suddenly I'm not? I just did it last night!

View 8 Replies View RelatedIt's been asked before but never answered as far as I can see. want to send Contact A's phone number (and only the phone number, not the whole contact) to Contact B by SMS. If I go into People and press menu-> more->Send Contact, the hero attached a Vcard to an MMS. Which I don't want. Just the number. What's more, Vcard sending doesn't even work when sending to another Hero let alone to another type of phone.
Any tips? Handcent doesn't appear to do this either.
I rooted my phone to dc 2.08 and now when i place a call it vibrates when the call is connected.

Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.
