My Samsung Galaxy note II now runs Android 4.4 Kitkat after latest updates. The problem is I want my caera app to store its pictures on my external SD card. and this is not possible. furthermore every app is not able to access my sd card. How can this be corrected ?

I have KitKat 4.4 on my Note 3. I'd like to edit tags on mp3 / FLAC files stored on my 64GB SD card.
Is there an easy way to get this done without rooting and using a PC?
When I go into gallery I see my pictures on my external sd card. When I go into camera mode, the preview box is black and when I press the preview box, my external pics don't come up.

Is there any camera app that can write photos and videos to the SD card? It seems like a waste of an SD card if I can't have my photo's and videos go directly to the card.

But I'm considering root just to get full, normal, access to microSD. Is root the only way to get access?
I'm searching for a solution to swap external sd to internal. I had to break the internal storage to make a I9003 working again.
Now, it boots the ROM from the external (but that's an other story).
Camera needs storage0 (internal storage) to work properly for DCIM. But I have only storage1 (inserted microsd). In 2.3.6 swap sd was possible by editing vold.fstab. In Kitkat the opportunity has been denied.
I search for a way to make storage1 to storage0 in CM11. Whether CyanogenMod is working on it?
Also, if they work, how do I check on my phone that it is detecting the external microphone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using a mt6582m device with kitkat 4.4.2 with supersu. I can use root to write to system, data and cache using es file explorer, can also read and write to any sd card, but apps like titanium backup, online android backup, ram expander can't read/write to sd card.
Eg.1: ti backup read backups, can do all operation except backup and restore.
I had read a lot, changing backup path didn't worked nor any odex file is there. Using v6.1.5.6.
Eg. 2: ram expander can create swap file on sd but can read it saying 'not found'. Swap can be used with cache partition.
Eg. 3: online nandroid backup says pat not vaild.
I had tried, sd fix app, manually editing platform.xml, xposed module to 'handel external storage', change permissions using es file explorer, editing ramdisk.
There is storage/sdcard0 and 1
Also mnt/sdcard and mnt/sdcard2 (symlinked)
Also mnt/media_rw/sdcard0 and 1 (not readable even in es file explorer)
i updated my moto maxx to kitkat and since the update i cant post picture comments on facebook no matter what web browser i use! nothing happens! like if a friend posts and i go to post a comment thats a picture when i push the camera button nothing happens. it works on my wife's htc one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've set up restricted profiles for my children and taken photos for them. But after a short period of time the os forgets the image and goes back to the default icon.
This has happened with the image on both sd and internal memory.
This is an LG g pad running 4.4.2
I'm using Hangouts for my SMS messages. Until recently when I received a message and swiped down on the notification bar I would see the contact's picture next to the text message. I have saved contact pictures for most of my gmail contacts (had to since google won't pull in Facebook picture but that's another gripe). Recently however, the contact picture does not display in the notification area when I get an SMS. It just show a grey/black/white image where the contact picture should be. The contact picture still appears in the actual text message and in my list of text messages but not in the notification area. I have a Nexus 5 which I believe is up to date on all updates.

If I hit back button, and then re-open the picture attachment, it will show it in full screen. Seems like an odd bug, how do I get it to show when I click it the first time?

I want to connect external camera through usb hub for the board. There I enabled usb hub through g_zero.ko module and got the kernel messages as one usb hub has detected. But when I checked for devices as ls /dev/video*, I didn't see any new device relate external camera. May I know any procedure to recognize video camera device for zoom3 board.

Preferably by USB given that it covers the broadest range of cameras. However for the purposes of this discussion any webcam will do. I know there are several apps that allow for streaming DSLR camera control via USB or wifi. I consider wifi to be unacceptable due to it requiring the network infrastructure. My question is really what is needed to get a webcam to be powered by the phone or tablet and streaming video?

i have some ridiculous lag on my samsung S4 (GT-I9505, running 4.4.2). When i boot into the camera the screen changes to showing what the camera sees, but I can't take a picture or focus the camera for around a minute.
when other people are talking about lag with 4.4.2 (and therefore I should do a factory reset) or is this something else? Other apps don't seem to be showing noticeable lag. If i do perform a factory reset is that pointless if i use an app to backup my data and restore it? as in, is the factory reset only effective if i redownload all my apps, redo all my setting etc etc? If i can backup without making a factory reset pointless, is there a particular backup app that is better than any of the others?
Other possibly relevant info is
- my device is rooted
- i use folder mount to store stuff on my sd card (but the only folders i can image could potentially be related to this issue are cloudagent, dcim, documentsync and pictures)
- I'm running a stock rom (a german one) - build number KOT49H.I9505XXUFNB8
Is there any hope to see in a close future the possibility to add to a screen locked by PIN an icon to access the camera?

I tested the flash by sheilding light with my hand and it works (on auto) just greyed out cant change from auto to manual. Pretty ordinary if you ask me. would like to force flash on on occasion.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to control and adjust the sound level when recording video? I recently took a video at a concert and the sound is clipping really bad. I also tried to connect various external microphones to the phone but then I only get statics / clicking noises.
Is it possible to connect an external microphone to the phone? (except for the one from the hands free set). Especially with the coming HD video recording feature for the X10 the sound quality really doesn't measure up to the video quality.
I would like to be able to read microSD's without having to remove the back cover. Is there a way to connect an external card reader via USB?

it came with some chinese apps etc (identifying which rom it was, i believe it was factory rom).I ask torrents to download in my sd card, it says error , permission denied .
EXT CARD SIZE: 2 gig only. manufactuer says tab supports upto 32 *gig card...card wroks fine on my nokia x2-00 phone
Investigation:
1)i tried creating directory in using File manager...it did, ...it didnt show option of deleting / pasteing something.
so i used es file explorer........when I asked it to delete that empty directory i created , it said error permission denied.
2)i try to paste something, it fails.
3)i try to delete something it fail.
So, FORMATTED the memory card (via pc...connected it as usb, formatted, ejected), TRY TO PASTE SOMETHING via tablet, it fails

I can't see my external SD card via PC. I can see only internal SD.
Recently I started using 32GB card with my Micromax Canvas HD and everything is working only for when I try to connect my mobile to PC for file transfer via usb storage I can see only two drive one of CD drive of mmx and other internal sd drive and I can see one more drive but it is not mounted which is my external sd drive when clicked on it, it asked to enter disk.
Solution tried so far by me
1. I have erase external sd card in mobile itself.
2. Reset the entire phone.
3. Uninstalled the mmx driver on my PC and reinstalled it.
How to take a picture using the Camera App and have it NOT appear in the Gallery?

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.
I Bought a Samsung Galaxy the other day, and ive allready upgraded it to 1.6, from the release i found on the forums... My Memory card slot hasnt been reading sense i bought it, and i thought and upgrade would fix it... Anyone know why the external card wont detect?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use MyBackup Pro and it can store its backups on an external SD card. I've searched but haven't been able to discover if Titanium has this same capability. If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? I know I can copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my external SD card along with its files, but can it be done automagically as a program option during the backup?
