I have Micromax A110. Have internal SD 2GB and External SD 2GB. I have install few games. But as my Internal SD is full. I have kept game data on external SD. But game is not able to detect that. In Storage, i have kept default write disk to external SD. But still after i Install games and copy game data on external SD, it doesnt work.

I would like to keep all of my saved tons and backups on my external SD card but CWM doesn't see or give me an option to backup or flash from external. When I first rooted the option was there but after I installed CWM ROM manager and had it flash to the newest version 5.8.4.7 it stopped giving external card options.

The phone suddenly decided it would not turn on yesterday, and now when I plug it in to my computer while turned off and run the memory test on SP FlashTool, It says that the External Ram is not detected, and that the EMMC is not detected either. View 9 Replies View RelatedIm on Jellybean 4.1.2 and I would like to know how to view my "external_sd" folder which is in my "sd card" folder? This is NOT the Exteranl SD card folder but rather a folder call "external_sd" which is in my phones sd folder.
I can view the files via Astro File Manager, but the folder isnt even displayed on my Windows 7 computer?
I'm running a custom ROM (4.2.2) on an HTC Vivid. When I connect to my PC via usb, Windows only sees the internal storage, not the external sd card, and there's no way to navigate to the System partition to access.
When I was running the stock HTC ICS, Windows would mount the external card as a separate drive. I know the file system hierarchy is different with JB. Is this why it only sees the internal storage now?

it came with some chinese apps etc (identifying which rom it was, i believe it was factory rom).I ask torrents to download in my sd card, it says error , permission denied .

Investigation:
1)i tried creating directory in using File manager...it did, ...it didnt show option of deleting / pasteing something.
so i used es file explorer........when I asked it to delete that empty directory i created , it said error permission denied.
2)i try to paste something, it fails.
3)i try to delete something it fail.
So, FORMATTED the memory card (via pc...connected it as usb, formatted, ejected), TRY TO PASTE SOMETHING via tablet, it fails

I can't see my external SD card via PC. I can see only internal SD.
Recently I started using 32GB card with my Micromax Canvas HD and everything is working only for when I try to connect my mobile to PC for file transfer via usb storage I can see only two drive one of CD drive of mmx and other internal sd drive and I can see one more drive but it is not mounted which is my external sd drive when clicked on it, it asked to enter disk.
Solution tried so far by me
1. I have erase external sd card in mobile itself.
2. Reset the entire phone.
3. Uninstalled the mmx driver on my PC and reinstalled it.
there is a way to pin all access music to an external SD. This is really the deciding factor for which I would pick up this phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I setup my A100 (running the ICS OTA update), I didn't have an SD card installed. It created it's own "fake" sdcard which applications use.
Now that I've added a real external sdcard, I can't get the applications to use that for their data instead of the "fake" location.
I've copied everything from the "fake" location to the new sdcard.
I suspect the problem is that the new, real sd card is called "external_sd" and the old, "fake" location is called "sdcard".
Do I need to reinstall those applications?
I am NOT trying to move applications to the external SD card; I just wants apps that normally store data there to do so instead of in the "fake" location.
Also, I am not rooted.
Basically what happens is any music on the external SD card will sometimes just disappear from my music app playlists. Most of the time it happens after unmounting/remounting the external SD. So I starting shutting off the phone every time I needed to remove the card. But it's happened at least once without unmounting the card.
I could put the music on the internal storage and not have a problem, but wanted to save that space for other things. So hoping to find a way to be able to restore the missing songs back to the playlists without having to manually remake them myself.
Is it possible to transfer music from the internal sd to an external sd on the ZTE Supreme? My daughter is getting error messages that she doesn't have enough memory to load more music, but her external sd card has about 29GB of space on it! Someone told me that I will have to erase everything on the phone and put the sd card and then reinstall everything. Is this true?

As you cannot really control for every app where to store its data, you have some of your app-data on internal sd (encrypted) and some of you app-data on external sd (encrypted). To me this seems to be a security hole, concerning device encryption. why cm team does not include encryption for external sd cards, like some oems do? They put so much effort in security features and on the other side they leave parts of the local storage encrypted?

my phone is HTC Sensation XL CM10.1. when i switch on my phone, it stuck on CyanogenMod, i restart my phone so many time, so what i did was i format my phone from bootloader. I'm having problem with my EXTERNAL MEMORY. this is not SD CARD since HTC Sensation Xl DOES NOT have memory card slot. it's HTC Sensation XL 16GB.
my problem is everytime i enter camera and gallery, it says "No external storage available" then my whatsapp also cannot download images and videos. then when i go to storage, it shows only internal memory available, it does not shows the External one, it seems like the external memory is not inserted.
i already restart my phone so many times . then i go to recovery, then i tried to mount sd card, but it said "cant mount Sd card" then i tried to format sd card but failed since the sd card cannot be mounted.

There are some external stereo microphones for IOS that plug into the headphone jack rather than the dock connector. For instance, the IK Multimedia iRig MIC Cast.
They claim that they work on Android as well.
Well, they may work, but do they provide better sound quality than the internal phone microphone, turning it into a decent digital recorder for music, for example? (with the right software, of course).
My question isn't really whether those microphones are better quality than the internal microphones, as I assume they are. But does the headphone jack on Android phones (mine is the Galaxy S4) really provide the input capability for better quality sound, including in stereo?
Of course that jack can transfer sound in both directions, headset and microphone, as it is a phone. For output, the phone provides quality stereo music output to headphones, as modern phones are also music players. However, the microphones on phone stereo headsets are generally low quality monaural microphones only suitable for phone calls, usually not better than the internal microphone, might be worse.
So the question is--is the input function of that jack capable of providing quality stereo input, if one has a quality stereo microphone attached? (No matter how good quality the microphone is, if that jack really cannot transmit that quality sound, but reduces it to a very low resolution and frequency-reduced monaural sound, no point at all in attaching such a microphone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCant download anything bigger than 4gb to external sd card. I have a T769 Blaze and have a 32gb external sd card installed, a sandisk hicap. I installed it factory and no luck. Read some forums and formated it to exfat, then ntsf, both read fine and can store up to 4gb but no more, tried all the various apps to get it to store when downloading but always get size limit error. How can I get my OS to allow bigger than 4gb to download to my 32gb sd card. Note: I have no issues when trying to move files from PC to phone, just downloading them from the Internet either by download site or torrent. Got some movies and software I need to get. OS is ics 4.0.4 rooted stock. I am a good pc geek but limited on android/linux skills.
