I've recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S4 to android 4.4.2 kitkat. Since then I've been unable to connect to the internet through mobile data. It can be activated/deactivated, but when activated I cannot connect to any websites.

I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I have recently updated to KitKat 4.4.2. Now my phone isnt able to connect to my mobile data network. Internet access is only possible on WiFi now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Telstra HTC Wildfire and unlocked it by code to use my 3 SIM card on it. However, after unlocking my mobile, when I choose the option "use phone for data connection when wi-fi is unavailable" it doesn't work. When i go to mobile network and network operators, I select to search for networks and the phone is automatically connected to "3Telstra(3G)". They also show 3(3G) and 3 networks, but when I try to select any of them, it says that the SIM card does not allow the connection to this network. I don't know if one thing is connected to the other, but I always used my old phone for data connection with the same SIM card.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using ICS Evervolv a5 on my N1. The mobile data connection works only if I don't connect to a WiFi network. If I do, the only way I have found to make it work again is to reboot the phone.
This means that while I am at home, everything works through WiFi, however, if I leave home, I have to reboot my phone once I am sure the phone is far enough from my WiFi access point to be able to connect. Then, it starts working with the cellular data plan
The only thing I can relate to this is that I have the "application protection" app installed, protecting the settings menu do with a code so my kids don't mess up with that. However, is still hard to believe that's the culprit.
A) The data network access doesn't work anymore. B) The touch screen is not responsive freezes a lot.C) The text messaging freezes then sends out 20 of the same message.And I have done numerous battery breaks.

I unrooted it using SuperSU but when I went to install the latest KitKat update (4.4.2) it flashed the yellow triangle and said I had unauthorized software and I needed to contact the Verizon store. I did the down volume-home-power thing and took care of that but it is clear to me that even though SuperSU says my phone is unrooted it isn't. How do I really unroot my phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
According to a PocketNow article dated Oct.5th.....Skype (mobile) is now available for Android. frauhottelmann Good job Skype, it doesn't work on the Galaxy S (unfortunately that's what I have) You simply can't log in on the Galaxy S. Too bad. Then another poster wrote..."Same for me". Unfortunately he only says "You simply can't log in..." and this leaves me wondering WHY NOT ? If anyone out there knows exactly why we can't use our SGS to log in...then please enlighten the rest of us who are left wondering. It seems to me that if the exact reason is known then someone should be able to come up with a fix.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my Galaxy S. I have unlimited mobile internet(3G), but not all Apps work.
For example when I am on the mobile internet network, de standard Internet browser does not work. It just displays a white page whatever I'm trying to load.Other programs say there is no internet connection avaible or just don't respond.
However there are 2 programs that d� work. Opera Mini and eBuddy can work with Wi-Fi and 3G. Other Apps like to check if it's gonna rain, or a News RSS viewer etcetera does not work.They only do with Wi-Fi.I have no clue what to search for and also no idea if it's my mobile phone or my provider(it's named 'Hi', it's dutch).
This was working until today on wife's phone.Now it just says mobile data state disconnected. All shes done is installed a load of new apps.Is it possible that a bad app can screw the mobile data connection? Or could it be faulty phone? Tried the sim in another phone and data works fine so its not the network or sim.

I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
I am from Italy and own a samsung i9000 s.bought from a wind shop ( but unlocked to all networks ). When I enter Kies and try to do an update it says that I already have the latest version. I checked and mine is Eclair 2.1 . was wondering if anybody know if WIND have the release of froyo 2.2 available on their network. I am moving my number to TIM mobile operator tomorrow anyway. Maybe some ideeas on that? I would really really like to upgrade as I have heard that Froyo really works alot better on sgs . Really now but for a phone that I have paied 550 euros I expect no lag and better start time of apps...and well alot of stuff. If that doesn't happent I'll just ask for my money back and go for the Iphone 4. not really what I want but my Iphone 3gs was performing better than this newer faster ( 1ghz..and 512 ram ) Samsung Galaxy S. SO PLEASE do cooment and let me know about what you think.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using raptor with a2sd set up, the newest kernel and turbo 4. I decided to install nfl mobile so I can watch the thursday night game tonight and it doesn't work.... thought it was an a2sd issue so I reformatted my sd card and flashed a fresh raptor. It worked. So I updated the kernel and it still worked. Then I isntalled the turbo4 and it no longer works... bummer. I'm figuring that the JIT is worth more to me than the nfl mobile app so I am going to leave it alone. I did find during this process that my phone seems quite a bit faster without a2sd. I have the original sd card which I'm sure makes a difference, but I think I would have to stockpile apps before a2sd would be faster than internal memory even with a faster card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would have thought that a firmware update via Kies would preserve user data, contacts, apps I paid for from the market, phone settings etc. But after going from I9000DXJF4 to I9000DXJG4 using that appalling excuse for software (Kies) I have a completely empty device with just stock standard apps. No warnings to click through about wiping data, no strange error messages on the device. Is this normal? If so I might as well put my SIM card back in my iPhone until there is a consensus build of Froyo out for the Galaxy S as re-downloading and resyncing everything each time.

Now that I've updated to 2.1, most of the apps (weather and time apps) no longer work correctly.I live in Panama City Beach but these apps continue to tell me I am slightly north of Tallahassee over 100 miles away and in a different time zone. Stays the same regardless of GPS on or off,I have deleted and re-installed all of the offending programs and that didn't help either.Everything was great prior to the update.

As mentioned I start of with the GET and I'm using org.apache.http.client.HttpClient to perform this operation.

What happens now is that I perform a POST with the localContext where the cookies are stored. This doesn't work. I get a HTTP/1.1 401 No session. Since I had no luck with this I tried another approach(java.net.HttpURLConnection). Remember I still use the same GET part
