I am looking for an app that i can leave in the app drawer not have it on my homescreen. any apps that remount SD card but that isnt a widget? i use SDmount and its great but its a widget and needs to be on my home screen which i dont want.

I was playing with the phone options, and i clicked "unmount SD card". I don't actually want to unmount the card, but there is no option to "remount".
View 5 Replies View RelatedSomething strange is going on here. I've removed and re-seated the SD card but when the phone boots up it says theres a problem and SD will be read only. Settings->Phone/SD storage says read only. Dropbox won't download anything because it cant find the SD card. However, EStrongs File Explorer and Root Explorer say it is read/write.
I think this happened because yesterday I put the sd card in my computer and the SD adapter I use automatically goes to 'read only' with a tab on the side when you push it in. I had put some tape on it to prevent that but I suppose it got loose, so I can't modify my SD card till I get home and can fix it with the SD adapter. Unless someone knows of a way to do it in the phone....
Can somebody PLEASE take the time to let me know HOW TO Re-Mount my SD Card? Dont know what happened after the 2.1 Update but shows Unmounted and NEED TO Re-Mount...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new incredible (upgrade from eris) and I just rooted it using unrevoked. I tried to use adb like I am used to doing with my eris but it seems I do not have root permission (although I do have super user app and its working from what I can tell).?

IDK the full name but searching Advanced SD will find it.Anyway, I turn on my phone after moving all my apps to my SD card, and many, if not most, are all missing. Like, my home screen has the empty boxes as my apps icons and I go to that app menu thing and they are missing. I try to find them but I cannot. I try to re-install them but I cannot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOnce I download an apk and place it on sd, and install it with astro file manager, does the apk have to stay on sd card or is it permanently installed to system until deletion?
For example my SuperUser.apk, wireless tether.apk and swype.apk were installed from sd through astro. I also have these apk's backed up with titanium backup. If i delete them from sd will they be removed and uninstalled from my system?
Also... I did a nandroid backup with the great clockwork recovery. This only backs up ROM and not apps/apks....right?
Maybe this is more of an android question, not sure, but here it goes: so the incredible has 6+ gb of onboard storage, primarily for media. if i buy a micro sdhc card (say 8 gb), will the music/video player apps see both storage devices and merge all songs/videos into 1 selection screen, or is it like a real computer/os and i have to swap folders/drives? if it's the former, will it be seemless? what happens to play lists? can i have a play list that spans on-board songs and songs stored on the card?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.

From all the docs I've read, remount is supposed to toggle between read-write/read-only permissions. But that doesn't seem to work in this case. Any idea what's wrong? Using Windows XP, emulator is running Android SDK 1.6 (with Google Maps APIs).
I have upgraded my phone's images to Android 1.5 images (from http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html) Now when I try commands like adb remount, chmod, adb push etc I get "Operation not permitted" and "Permission denied" errors
I was able to give this command when I had 1.0 images flashed on my phone.
Has something related to permissions changed with Android 1.5?
So I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.
