Do any backup apps restore your phones icon and widgets. I don' want to have to re setup all the apps I have so I want something (if there is something) that can restore a phone to the way it was home screen and all.

Is there an app that will backup and restore your desktop widgets to there original position. I know you can backup/restore your icons with Launcher Pro, Titanium, etc... but they do not restore working widgets. Is the only way to do this through a complete system restore like nandroid?
I would like to be able to restore my desktop with widgets after something like a factory reset or custom ROM install. Is it possible to restore just the desktop/widgets from a nandroid backup? What data would I restore to accomplish that?
When i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night rooted my phone & installed vallian 5.3. took me awhile to get it right but its working fine. however i installed my back to back up all my apps/data but iam having trouble restoring it back into my phone. I install my back up & when i hit restore, it says cannot get back up info etc...really weird as ive placed all the files back onto my sd card & i see them. this is annoying cause i even backed up export2contacts to restore my phone numbers but i need my apps restored for anything to work. really dont wanna download all of them again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had upgraded my Galaxy Gio from stock rom to custom rom (CM 7.2 based), and now I want to restore just a few apps + data (for e.g. Memo) and Contacts (from stock rom) from my Nandroid backup, so I want it should be on the current custom rom.
How far I tried to do so, I could'nt get it done. I tried with NANDROID MANAGER, I installed it and tried to restore some apps + their data, (the apps was in previous rom in System/Apps so Nandroid Manager automatically wanted to install it in system/apps), ok, the program showed as it's installed with no broblems, BUT after reboot as it required, NOTHING HAPPENED, so I looked in system/apps and data/data with root explorer, those apps & data were there, but it was not installed.....
I also tried to restore the Contacts from Nandroid (Contacts Storage), and I ended up with erasing all contacts I had currently on the phone (anyway that wasn't a problem, cause i had an regular backup of it).
So I would like to understand what the problem is, and how is it possible to have my previous memos and contacts restored to my current rom?
How come there are certain apps that will not allow me to restore even though I have a valid backup for it. For example I have the HTC_IME with a valid backup but when I click in within TB my only option is to delete the backup file, no restore available. There are other apps like that as well.

I would like to completely backup my phone (ideally to my dropbox folder) so I can easily restore all of my apps and settings on the new vibrant when it comes. I already have Astro, and have backed up my apps to my SD card. I just flashed a new ROM on my phone but when I tried to restore my apps with Titanium, only 1 app is showing. A few days ago I had also made a copy of the Titanium Backup folder in my computer but I don't know how to (if) I can restore my apps with only the folder.

I have used it many many times before and never had had this problem. Though I know it did start when I loaded up CM6 and it also did the same thing. I am now back too BB .04 and it is doing the same thing. I assume it is some corrupted file somewhere?

Will titanium backup restore the market links with the apps so that I can still receive market updates?
I want to change ROMS without having to make a list of my current apps and reinstall each one. But I still want the ability to restore and get updates for all the apps I have.
And one other question, when I backup my apps, and then do a nandroid restore I assume Titanium backup will need to be reinstalled. Once I do this will I still be able to restore the apps from the SD card?

When I do a backup with TB, it goes fine.
Then I flash a new rom, restore with TB. When app is restored, everything's fine, but when I restore data, every app is force closing... This is really annoying if I want to get back my apps settings...
Is there an app to backup and export a listing of all the apps, bookmarks, and widgets currently on your phone? I see many apps that will search though all the current installed apps, for sorting, or organizing, but then it would be good to export this list to e-mail or Google Docs, etc.

In my haste to explore I started deleting some of the Verizon bloatware such as Friendstream, Facebook, Footprint, City ID as well as a couple of others before stopping when I remembered that I should have immediatly run a nandroid and titanium backup after root.
My question, can I still use this nandroid and or titanium backup I made, minus the 4 or 5 misc items I deleted before backup, to restore my Dinc to stock if need be for either the next OTA update or if I run into problems playing w/ various ROM's?
I backed up all my apps and user data just fine with it. I just installed a new rom and Restored all the data and it went fine, but I was curious about one thing.
I have 110 apps on my phone, not sure if thats a lot or not, but its a PITA sitting there and hitting "Install" then "Done" 90 times. Is there a way to have it just restore without asking? I understand this is easier than trying to download and install them all over again.
I have just updated xperia x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 (Rogers) and figured it out that all my applications were lost.Before the update, I installed the last PC Companion Software from SE and made two backups using the backup and restore application.After the update, when I tried to restore using it, there's no market application checkbox. Everything else (contacts, messages..) was restored.The paid applications are shown in the Market Download tab to install, but just that (because they are associated with google account).Nothing more. Titanium backup does the job but after restoring on a new rom I get a lot of fc's and none of the apps works. I cannot restore call log and text messages, accounts, etc.
There's a lot of backup apps, I know. But I would like to be sure that they work as they should. Any app which will do the job?
IM trying to restore my latest nandroid file because i was having issues with the cm6 rom and not reading my sd card. so im trying to return to my last backup and then im going to reinstall the cm6 rom. but ive been sitting on my htc incredible load screen for some time now after rebooting with the backup. is this normal?

I had is that the max speed that it gives me to set when I auto detect is 1 Ghz. I want to restore my back up that I made when I flashed the kernel but it doesn't show up in ROM manager. I feel bad being such a noob question and needing a step by step instructions but if anyone can help it would be great. Here's my question:
1. Should I backup my current configuration
2. Then "Restore" my backup prior to upgrade
3. Grab my files (hoping they will be there) toss them on my mac
4. Then just "Restore" back to where I am now?
Need those files by tomorrow, any assistance is much appreciated. It's not that it's an emergency without them, but I will have to do some legwork to gather that info again.
