View 1 RepliesI was so excited when LPP updated a while back and added the option for additional rows and columns....but it didn't resize things the way I wanted. I had hoped it would be tweeked and it seems better now but I'm still having an issue with Beautiful Widgets on the full size Home Weather. It doesn't fit the entire information completely with temp, etc. without pulling it down to fit across about 3 rows...which makes it look huge
Anyone else have this problem? Or should I just accept it and use the smaller Beautiful Home widget? And is there a way to resize the text size under the description of the app? I can remove it and kind of like it without it...but was curious if I'm missing something
I have had my Inc for a few weeks and am still trying to fill up screens and get things set up just the way I want them. I know there have been threads like this in the past, but most of them were from LONG before we got our phones. Since things seem to change frequently I figured I would pick everyone's brains and see what they like. So, what are your absolute favorite apps and widgets .those you can't live without.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if we could get a list going of the apps / widgets that work in landscape orientation. All of the videos I see of the Incredible have the homescreens ignoring landscape. Can anyone confirm or disconfirm this for any apps or widgets that they notice?

i dont know if that makes sense? i cant put anything say in the centre. does anyone know how to do this
Do any backup apps restore your phones icon and widgets. I don' want to have to re setup all the apps I have so I want something (if there is something) that can restore a phone to the way it was home screen and all.
View 22 Replies View RelatedHow can I color code individual rows in a ListView exactly like it is done in the native MESSAGING app? I do NOT want to simply do alternating rows, but I want to copy the format used in the MESSAGING app, where message rows have a different background color based on the username of the message. FYI: I am currently extending SimpleAdapter and overriding getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) . In this method I am trying to calculate setting the background color based on the position as compared to a list of 'positions to highlight' that I am maintaining each time I update the list, but so far this is only working the first time the list is updated. In class that overrides SimpleAdapter:
@Override
public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {
View view = super.getView(position, convertView, parent);
if(highlightPositions.contains(new Integer(position))){
view.setBackgroundColor(highlightColor);
}
else{
view.setBackgroundColor(normalColor);
}
return view;}
does anyone notice that there small dots on the front of the screen when you hold in the sunlight and looks like a matte pattern it covers the whole screen. U can only see it when u tilt it up towards the light... anyone else seeing this? It may just be the oled screen not sure tho

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if we can share some "must-have" apps and widgets for the HTC Desires running on 2.2 (FROYO). List your top ten with a description of what they do (if it isnt clear from the app name), cost, and where to find them if not in the "Market".In no particular order:

There are a lot of battery apps/widgets out there. Some are cool and helpful, and some are awful and full of fail. So here comes the question and it is simple. What battery widget do ya all use? I use vizBattery.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSome of the Samsung phones have a toggle bar for GPS, wifi, ect. that can be pulled down from the notification bar. Does anyone know of an app that mimics this? I've looked in the market but didn't find anything that similar. Also a simple 3 button media player option would be useful that way you don't have to switch apps just to skip a song or stop the player. Is there anything like that out there at all?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I take my HTC handset to another country, will it charge me for just having it turned on (no 3G, apps, widgets or anything that uses the net in some way turned off). Cause I take it, it will try to find an Orange signal in that country if they do have Orange there so will it charge me for that? (I'm on contract by the way). Next question is similar to my last question. Can I still use my internet allowance from my contract (500Mb) in another country or will I get charged?
What is an unbranded phone? Is mine unbranded? I'm just gonna take a wild guess - since I purchased my mobile through a third-party site (in this case, e2save), those guys simply buy the airtime off Orange and get the handset directly from the manufacturer so is this an unbranded phone? What are the advantages of having an unbranded phone?.............
I am wondering what actually happens with all the apps and widgets that come with Sense UI. I assume none of them will work anymore once the Desire is rooted? Or will they stay and still be useable? Can you download them somewhere again from HTC for example and install on a rooted device?
I heard of custom Roms that will let you root the device and still use some HTC apps. Is that correct or is there no such thing?
Finally, a question that might be a bit of speculation currently. With HTC introducing the new www.htcsense.com website with features such as SMS backup for life, contact editing, app shop, etc.... some of the stuff like the SMS backup sound very interesting but now I am wondering if these features will be available for rooted devices. Anybody has any ideas about that?
Would be kind of unfair if rooted devices could not use this HTC service.
When not connected to 3G or wifi do any apps or widgets use battery power when not in use, for example the twitter and facebook apps/widgets would use power right to update peoples status
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy apps widgets arent updating according to the settings. For example, weather bug widget, and Google finance, and engadget. I have to click into the app itself to get it to appear correctly. Sorta defeats the purpose of a widget! Is there another parent setting that is preventing this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat are your favorite home screen widgets? There are plenty of lists of favorite apps but I prefer the on screen functionality of widgets without having to open the app. Here's what I am using so far:
Pandora
S2 Calendar
gTasks
MixZing
MotoTorch
Weather Forecast
If clicking the widget just opens the program then to me it's not really a widget even if the program creates an entry in the add widgets menu. So what are your favorites?
A friend got a Desire yesterday and is having a rather odd problem with it - she put the power control widget on one of the screens, set the news feed to the BBC, and then downloaded a couple of apps (angry birds etc). When she downloaded these the powercontrol widget disappeared and the news feed 'unset' itself from the BBC.Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how to stop it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen you have auto sync settings turned on for certain things, like Facebook, Twitter, weather, etc. but you *don't* have these apps open or any widgets on your homescreens, do they still sync at the specified times?
I ask for general knowledge, but also because I'm curious if my Dictionary.com Word of the Day widget (or even the app itself) is updating itself every day, even though I don't use the widget on my homescreens (and the app hasn't been opened in a while either). But Dictionary.com is always listed in the running programs list.
Are there any apps out there that will allow me to put widgets on my lockscreen? I'd really just like to have the weather show up. I am not rooted and I'm running stock 2.1.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRegardless of the launcher when I try to add a widget and the list is about to show up I get a force close from the Settings app. Im assuming that the Widgets list is part of the settings app but I don't know what I can do to fix it. I've tried:
1 - Using Clockwork to fix permissions.
