I just got a new incredible (upgrade from eris) and I just rooted it using unrevoked. I tried to use adb like I am used to doing with my eris but it seems I do not have root permission (although I do have super user app and its working from what I can tell).?

I can't delete some files on my device (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE [t0lte]]) running CyanogenMod 10.1 using RootExplorer (or similar file manager).
So I tried with adb (in CM10.1, ClockworkMod & TeamWin recovery), but received error messages:

I am looking for an app that i can leave in the app drawer not have it on my homescreen. any apps that remount SD card but that isnt a widget? i use SDmount and its great but its a widget and needs to be on my home screen which i dont want.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSomething strange is going on here. I've removed and re-seated the SD card but when the phone boots up it says theres a problem and SD will be read only. Settings->Phone/SD storage says read only. Dropbox won't download anything because it cant find the SD card. However, EStrongs File Explorer and Root Explorer say it is read/write.
I think this happened because yesterday I put the sd card in my computer and the SD adapter I use automatically goes to 'read only' with a tab on the side when you push it in. I had put some tape on it to prevent that but I suppose it got loose, so I can't modify my SD card till I get home and can fix it with the SD adapter. Unless someone knows of a way to do it in the phone....

From all the docs I've read, remount is supposed to toggle between read-write/read-only permissions. But that doesn't seem to work in this case. Any idea what's wrong? Using Windows XP, emulator is running Android SDK 1.6 (with Google Maps APIs).
I have upgraded my phone's images to Android 1.5 images (from http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html) Now when I try commands like adb remount, chmod, adb push etc I get "Operation not permitted" and "Permission denied" errors
I was able to give this command when I had 1.0 images flashed on my phone.
Has something related to permissions changed with Android 1.5?

I've got an Acer A200 that is running the leaked version of ICS 4.0.3
Utilizing saurik's mempodroid I am able to exploit the kernel (2.6.39.4+) and gain root, but I cannot remount /system. I've tried quite a few different mount commands and they all result in the same error "mount: Operation not permitted".Here are the mount commands I've tried:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently did a hard reset of my phone and it really cleaned things up and made things run faster (and I got rid of a bunch of apps I never really used.) I did notice that the calendar functions differently now. I used to be able to call up an individual day and see scheduled appointments, then I could swipe left or right on that day to go to the next day or previous day. You still can scroll through time that way in the full month display by swiping up and down but that functionality seems to be gone now for day views. Anyone else notice that change?

There is a big database(15M) in my application, it is too big to download the apk if I publish the source database in myapp.apk. So I encode the db to binary files(300k). But the new problem is I should decode binary files and create the database(with data), this procedure take about several minutes, so I can NOT do this in SQLiteOpenHelper.onCreate(), this is too slow for user experience(though it is a one time procedure, it is still unacceptable).
My application has NO main activity entry in launcher, the main entry is Broadcast Receiver.on Receive, the information should display to user immediately when receiving the broadcast, so I have no chance to display a several minutes "Initializing, please waiting..." UI. The best chance to create database and init data immediately after install, but how to do this, is there any broadcast? or is there any AndroidManifest attribute?
I am not able to insert entries in the database. For the record, this was working previously, but I went a few weeks without working with it and now it just doesn't work anymore.

The thing is, I am not getting any exceptions or anything. It's just that my number of inserted rows always comes out as 0.
I have a background thread which queries for 1000 records at a time. After querying , when i call cursor.move To First(), the UI gets blocked until the operation is completed.This is very disturbing experience for user , especially if there are 10000 plus records.I use Thread.sleep in between after each 1000 records, As soon as cursor.move To First is called, UI blocks for 2 3 seconds. Am i missing anything here ?
