View 1 Repliesi decided to download a bunch of games, i never used enough applications to need to move them to my sd, but since i downloaded a lot of them some started to get installed to the sd and i manually moved some of them too to the sd card. But while i was still downloading more apps, some of them started to show the android icon, and when i tried to run them they crashed. The weird part is that it was just some of them.
phone to reload and see the apps, but that just made it worst since those, and some others went totally missing from the drawer. Is not because the launcher loads before the sd card is read because i already checked that.So i went to settings>applications and discovered that all those applications are listed there but listed with their other name (dont know how to call it, but is like "com.developer.app" ). All of the missing apps are like that and i cant run them.
- I have formatted the sd using gparted, same behavior
- I have formatted the sd and the internal (sd?) with the phone
- I have done a factory reset with no luck
- I have runned fsck in both internal and external sd's
- The files of the applications are in the .android_secure folder in the external sd card "app.asec"
- The sd card is working (files music, everything else is working)
- I dont know what else to do, I want to be able to use my sd card to install apps
I recently got the app, Advanced SD card something. IDK the full name but searching Advanced SD will find it.Anyway, I turn on my phone after moving all my apps to my SD card, and many, if not most, are all missing. Like, my home screen has the empty boxes as my apps icons and I go to that app menu thing and they are missing. I try to find them but I cannot. I try to re-install them but I cannot.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am on 2.1 and couldn't get a god damn GPS signal yesterday while driving. Is this THAT much of a problem? I am about to throw this POS out of the window. It took me 2.5 hours to get somewhere yesterday which should have been a fucking hour. What, if anything, will Sprint do? I have had this since Nov last year and I want to get rid of it.
Also, this morning, no GPS on or anything and was on charge all night, the battery went to 50 percent according to the battery widget in an HOUR.
Also, widgets being moved from 1 home screen to another while it's being used and without MY interaction.
I find that too often when I'm trying to scroll within a widget the system thinks I am trying to move it. So my question is how can I lock the home screen in the since that widgets can be moved/removed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone has had the notification icon for weather from Beautiful Widgets disappear? I love the look and animations of the Beautiful Widgets with GDE and I also have the White Hero Theme - looks great. But now there is no Icon for beautiful widgets in the notification bar, even after I switched the setting numerous times.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Inc for a few weeks and am still trying to fill up screens and get things set up just the way I want them. I know there have been threads like this in the past, but most of them were from LONG before we got our phones. Since things seem to change frequently I figured I would pick everyone's brains and see what they like. So, what are your absolute favorite apps and widgets .those you can't live without.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if we could get a list going of the apps / widgets that work in landscape orientation. All of the videos I see of the Incredible have the homescreens ignoring landscape. Can anyone confirm or disconfirm this for any apps or widgets that they notice?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo any backup apps restore your phones icon and widgets. I don' want to have to re setup all the apps I have so I want something (if there is something) that can restore a phone to the way it was home screen and all.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI'm not understanding why some apps (even those that haven't been run or aren't running) can't be moved to the SD, while others can. Of the 50 or so apps on my phone, it seemed that 80% of them had the "Move to SD" grayed out. Anyone know why?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOf all the apps on my Droid, I only found 15 that could be moved. For testing I moved 1.. but where did it go? I expected to find it in a new directory or as an apk at the root of the SD card. No such luck. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus MeMo Pad HD7 and I have alot of Game Apps from Google Play installed on the Tablet's Internal onboard storage and I'm starting to run out of storage space. I know you can't install Game Apps directly to an external SD Card but can the Games be moved to the SD Card from the Tablet's on board storage so I can free up storage space then later on move the Game Apps from the SD Card back to the Tablet's onboard storage? If so what is the process of doing that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I got back from lunch, I suddenly noticed several of my apps were showing uninstalled from my home screen. Here are 3 examples:
1) Pandora - Icon turned to the android and would not load
2) Bible - same as pandora
3) Appbrain - same as pandora
When I checked all apps, they were missing. I went into the android market and reinstalled them. The only thing I have done is move some of my apps to the sd card. Did this cause a problem? I did this over the weekend.
Love apps so was pleased to get 2.2 and start moving stuff over to create space but noticed than when an app moves, it typically takes up a lot less space.
As an example, install alchemy today:
Space according to market = 2.08MB
Without running, app manager space reported = 2.35MB
Move to SD
Space reported = 276KB
I haven't done any kind of detailed research so I'm not sure why this is but would make a guess at the install/temp files being disposed of when they move...?? Makes sense to me, all apps still work fine but take up much less space.
what apps can be moved to the sd card without breaking any functionality.
What google apps are safe to move?
Is is ok to move Cloud storage apps like Dropbox?
Is it okay to move stuff like calculator, calendar etc?
Is it okay to move messaging apps like whatsapp?
Searched and couldn't find anything on this. Occasionally when i unlock the phone, all of my homescreen widgets are gone. Nothing but the wallpaper is visible. It usually happens when i am browsing on Dolphin and the screen times out. Then i hit the unlock button, swipe across to unlock, and when i hit home key, all apps are gone. Must reboot to get widgets back. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do to fix it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted primarily to get rid of bloatware. The instructions indicated that I should create a folder called app.disabled, and them move the bloatware and unwanted widgets, etc. to that file in case I wanted them later. Can that folder be moved to the SD card somehow, and if so, how? I am not at home right now, so I would prefer a handset only solution, but I can probably wait till I get home if the only solution requires a computer...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure how to explain this. If I take a picture with my camera, it looks great on my phone. Colors are deep and full and the sharpness is fine. However, when I mail it to myself or try to access it from my computer, the colors look washed out and flat. It's not really a blown highlight problem and I'm shooting at 8MP. Here's an example:

I'd really like to fix this.
There were a bunch of videos on my phone's internal memory (21 to be exact). I connected the phone to a PC so I could copy the videos off the phone and when it synced the two drives (internal and SD), it only showed 3 out of the 21 videos I had. I searched on the drive for *.3gp videos and it still only showed those 3. When I removed the phone from the PC and looked in my videos on the phone the extra 18 videos were no longer there. I also performed a search on the phone using Astro and again it only found the 3 videos.
It is as if they have been deleted somehow? Any idea how to get them back?
I woke up this morning with my phone saying i have 2 texts. i then open up my messages and ALL of my messages are gone. my inbox is completely empty anyone have this issue before? anyway to get them back? ive already rebooted my phone
View 9 Replies View RelatedWith my old phone, MyTouch, Android 1.6, I would export a playlist from iTunes as an .m3u file, and copy that playlist file over to /sdcard/music/playlists so that it would be on my phone. I manually copy all of the music from the playlists into /sdcard/music so that every song that is in said playlists is in the music directory. The music app would take awhile to update and read everything, but once I gave it some time to work, everything worked wonderfully. That was all I had to do.
With my new phone, Incredible, Android 2.2, when I do the same steps, it doesn't work. I open the music app, go to the playlist option, and it thinks and thinks and thinks. Then each playlist will appear, alphabetically, and then disappear, until there are no playlists at all.
I read some forums online and have tried multiple things, and apparently Android 2.2 reads the SD card looking for music, and when reading a playlist, if it can't find any of the songs in the list, it deletes the playlist. The playlist is not only deleted from the list in the music app, but is completely deleted from the SD card entirely.
Here is my concern... When this playlist is exported, it has the path from C: on my computer, because that is where the music is housed on the computer. Moving it to my phone has never been a problem previously because it ignored the C: path and just found the song, without worrying about the additional directory information. But the newer version of Android isn't doing the same thing, I think it's more picky?
Anywho, I need my playlists! I don't want to use MediaMonkey, and the m3u files have worked fine in the past - quick and easy, without having to use additional programs. I really, really, REALLY don't want to have to go through these playlist files and remove all of the path information because these are huge lists, but I guess I might have to. Do you have any other ideas on what I can do to make this work?
I've tried different directories for the playlists on the phone - but I don't think that's the problem because the phone can SEE the playlists, and then deletes them. I've tried creating a playlist on the phone so that I could see the format of it, but the playlist that I created can't be found on the phone. I don't know how the phone creates them, or where it houses them, as I tried to search for it and was unsuccessful.
I recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
I have made a few ringtones with the htc music player. The trimmer function works great and the ringtone sounds great. But if i turn off my phone or if i take out my sd card, the ringtones disappear. They are not even avail to assign to a ringtone in the sounds and notifications settings. Is there a trick to get my phone to keep my custom ring tones?
