HTC Incredible :: Using Gmail While On A Phone Call?

This morning, I was on the phone when I realized I needed to refer to a gmail thread. So I put caller on speakerphone, hit the home button, went to gmail. I wasn't able to pull up an email thread from several days back that was in my inbox. I was getting a "no signal" "Retry" button.
I tested it again when I was on another call a bit later, and tried to pull up the same email, couldn't do it. Same error message. But oddly enough was able to pull up an email from just yesterday.
What I don't know is, is gmail having trouble because of how old the email is? Freak occurence?

im not an expert on how push email works, but my understanding is that gmail messages should appear on my phone without me having to refresh or manually sync the gmail app. for a reason unknown to me, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesnt. at night, i shut down wifi and the mobile network to conserve battery and start up the mobile network when i leave for work in the morning. i get notification of new yahoo email, thru the htc widget, almost instantaneously, yet gmail doesnt come thru until i manually sync the gmail app. then during the course of the day, sometimes gmail messages get pushed right thru and other times not at all until i manually sync the app. meanwhile my yahoo mail comes thru flawlessly.
considering gmail is supposed to push and the htc widget does not, this is the opposite of what i expect. as far as settings, i have auto sync enabled for both the device and for the gmail app. while i always assume user error until proven otherwise, in this instance i think i have all the correct settings, which makes sense considering sometimes gmail does get pushed. its just erratic and unpredictable. anybody got any ideas what's going on here?

Is there an application for the GMail app for a "send confirm" similar to that of "call confirm?" The call confirm app prompts you to confirm the selection to call, so I am hoping there is one that prompts you before sending. I keep slipping and hitting send before I have completed my emails.

Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

For some reason my Gmail isn't getting pushed to my phone anymore - it's acting like it's polling or set to manual refresh. I didn't change any settings that I remember. The only thing that changed was an update to the Quick Settings app.

Did we ever find a fix to keep the phone from vibrating while in a phone call when you get a message?
I don't mind a beep in my ear, but the vibration needs to go.

I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple. At some point I had an option to save new contacts as a phone contact or a gmail contact. But I've lost that option. Now whenever I enter a new number in my phone I have to manually enter it into my gmail account as well. (Lets not even get into the pain in the butt Google Apps account which will NOT sync my contacts from my personal domain) What am I missing here? I've already lost one gals number that I really wanted to call when I did a factory reset and forgot to manually put it in gmail.

Initially, I thought I just needed to change my Outlook settings so it would leave a copy of messages on the server, which I did. But still, only around half my emails actually come to my phone.Has anyone else had this problem?

I turned off the notification when I went to sleep so I wouldn't wake me up every 10 minutes. Now the Gmail has to be manually refreshed. How do I get the phone to auto sync with gmail again?

How do you sync your gmail calendar to your phone? I'm brand new and tried to find out how to do this on my own but every site I see says you need Outlook. I don't have Outlook so I'm looking for another way to do this. Making your events on your phone can be tedious so it's just easier for me to put them in Gmail calendar.

Someone on another post posted that under the new update you can no longer use the GPS and take a phone call. I immediately thought this guy was a dumb ass but to my surprise he was correct. Once you take the phone call the data connection is lost.So my question is which really dumb engineer thought this was a good idea? Seriously that is about the dumbest thing I can think of! Like people dont take phone calls while trying to find their way to someplace?

I might be a little late on this but does adding another person during a call cost extra? I just found out by pressing menu during a phone call lol. Would I be charged for a 3-way or conference call for doing that?
BTW what does the flash thing do (The 1 that has a phone with arrows pointing in opposite directions)

Until today, my gmail was working great (I use the gmail app). Then today, it just stopped working. I was surprised that I didn't receive any emails today, then I checked my computer and saw that I had several. So I hit refresh on my phone a they popped up in my inbox. I sent a test email after that and didn't receive it until I hit refresh. Can someone guide me through getting it working again?

My girlfriend seems to having problems with gmail. She says she doesn't receive ALL her emails on her phone but they show up on the computer. Any ideas why her phone is doing this? What can I do to fix this issue?

my incredible reboots randomly, first noticed one while on a phone call with my dad. It was over bluetooth in car with navigation & gps on. It rebooted mid conversation. I was on 95 in baltimore with 4 bars and 3g. Everything since has been while listening to slacker. Either while phone is sitting there or while surffing the web. Once was while listening in the car in philadelphia on 95 no navigation (always 2-3 bars and 3g) and it didn't start crashing until about two weeks ago. Every crash has been while plugged into a charger also. I haven't noticed any crashes off charger.

Has anyone experienced their Inc going to sleep while trying to multitask during a phone call? The screen keeps going between sleep and awake when trying to navigate through menu's during calls. I have already tried a battery pull.

With Facebook integration and having tons of peoples phone numbers at hand in the Phone button, I really really would feel more comfortable if it would prompt me after clicking on a name. The touch is is super sensitive and even scrolling through, I accidentally called people I haven't talked to in years.

After my phone had randomly updated to 2.2 on its own, i no longer have in call sound, so the only way i can talk on the phone is through speaker phone. its not devastating but its really annoying

First of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?

Does anyone else have an issue doing this? I received an error stating "got an error stating this application requires network access. Enable mobile network or wi-fi to download data." My mobile network was on at the time as I was on a call. Any settings I should be looking at? I tried both the stock browser and skyfire & had the issue with both.

I recently got a new dinc (within the last week) and it worked fine for a while but then suddenly stopped being able to call or text. i get the cause code: 1 and error class: 3 when i try sending a text, and when i start a call i hear an automated voice telling me that my the authentication for my phone has failed. I've tried reprogramming it a few times using *288 option 1, which fixes the problem for a few hours, but then it stops working again. does anyone know a fix or why this happens?

I just left the BlackBerry world. Been an avid Gmail user and I own my own business. Emails sent to my business email is forwarded to my Gmail account. In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

I was trying to figure out how to download attachments from Gmail to the internal phone storage while using the Gmail app. Every time i try to download something, it will only let me save to the SD card. Is there really no way to change this?

I was wondering if anyone has this problem. When someone calls my incredible I try to swipe the screen down, but the screen is non responsive whether i swipe up or down. I tried to search the forums for this problems, but i couldn't find anything on here or on a google search. Is there an app that fixes this?
