HTC Incredible :: Phone Stopped Being Able To Call _ Text / Why This Happens - Fix It?

I recently got a new dinc (within the last week) and it worked fine for a while but then suddenly stopped being able to call or text. i get the cause code: 1 and error class: 3 when i try sending a text, and when i start a call i hear an automated voice telling me that my the authentication for my phone has failed. I've tried reprogramming it a few times using *288 option 1, which fixes the problem for a few hours, but then it stops working again. does anyone know a fix or why this happens?

D inc stopped vibrating on text notifacation...whether it's on loud or vibrat...nothing. Haptic still vibrates when pushing buttons or typing...This phone already was named a doa because of a blown speaker after a week of gettin it and now my screen is also cracked....How do I go about gettin a replacement with paying full retail and also will the replacement have an amoled or lcd.

Did a quick search and found nothing. Out of the blue last week, the vibrate notification for both emails and texts has stopped working. It is still working in vibrate mode for calls though. I use Profiles app and have changed nothing on it.

I used chompSMS, and after updating to their 4.6 version, I was no longer able to receive text messages. I tried everything and finally resorted to doing a factory reset, now everything is working, and I am receiving all the messages I was supposed to get during the period it wasn't working. Now that I am getting all the messages, I realize that I wasn't getting them from before the update as well. I guess chomp is not to blame.

I like to enter in my work schedule into my phone and let it sync with Google Calendar, but recently, my phone has stopped syncing any newly created entries. I'm not sure what seems to be happening here, but does anyone know how to fix it? The calendar syncs perfectly to my phone when I put new entries in there but not when I enter into my phone. Anyway, I hope someone else has had this problem.

My buddy just stopped by with his Incredible and activated it while we were shooting the breeze. I was curious about the reception strength of the phone because of various reviews and concerns posted here. I own a blackberry Storm and pulled up the settings for signal strength... The BB Storm was registering anywhere from -80db to -89db with a near constant of -84db. I checked his Incredible and the signal strength was almost identical, always within -1db. His bars were fluctuating more then the storm but the actual signal was good. Just thought I'd mention it again that those bars really are not an accurate representation of signal.

Still waiting on my DINC while using my WM TP2. I have one well two feathers I like to have on my DINC. I am tech support and get calls all the time: 1. On my TP2 when on a call and a new incoming call comes in I can reject that call with a 'send txt' button and it send the caller a text I pre-created to let them know I am busy. Is it possible to do this on the DINC? 2. There is a free app my TP2 uses to record all calls automatically and it helps me because I cannot not write many times when I am driving or running network in a ceiling so the ability to playback a saved call is huge. Is there a app out there anyone use to record calls on the DINC? (pls do not concern me about the legal side this is for me and me only and there are apps that can do it which I am doing now)..

I have searched my HTC Incredible up and down but I can't find the option to set how often it rings to let you know that you have a missed call or text. Right now me phone only rings once. This is the most basic feature and there has to be a way to change but I can't find it for the life of me. Even my old razor let me set it to ring every 5 minutes or so for missed calls. I can hook my phone into my pc and stream internet off it but for the life of me I can't figure this out!

If I open People it just sits at the loading screen Messages don't have the people names on it
The people widget doesnt show the group I cant click Phone or call or text anyone Then either people or HTC sense will force close. is there any reason why i can't do anything that relates to my contacts?

I have a droid 3. After using it for a few days, i could not receive or send any calls or texts all of a sudden and i don't know what i did wrong. A hollow triangle icon appeared on the top right corner of the screen beside the WiFi icon. When I call, it tells me to dial *611 and reactivate the phone. But when I called *611, it still asked me to dial *611. I tried a lot of ways to make it work but it never did. Then I tried doing the factory reset. I reset it, and it said i had to make a special call to activate the phone. So i pressed the activate button, i think it is supposed to give me instructions and tell me how to reactivate it but it didn't say anything and i'm now stuck on that page i couldn't go back couldn't do anything. I tried turning it off and turning it back on and it was still at the same page.

so my last phone was the palm pre and I could send text messages while I was on the phone now with this epic I can send them and they say sent but they dont get received until I hang up the phone call I am on whats the problem here, why did this work on my pre buy not on the more advanced phone?

is there a quick way to silence any ringtone or notification on the phone. when your in a public place and suddenly your phone is the loudest thing on earth.i'd like to be able to push a button or do something that makes it immediately stop. with my blackberry i pushed the buttons on the side (volume buttons) and it made it stop.i can't figure it out on the hero.

I missed a call from my husband this morning and he said that he immediately received a text from me saying i was busy and would call him later. Well, I had not sent the message and yet there it is. Have looked and looked for a feature that may be causing that. I use Handscent. Any helpful info? I have had this phone 4 months and this has never happened.

So this started a week or so ago. I don't receive text messages unless I'm on a phone call. So until I call or receive a phone call. I don't get any messages. Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

I'm looking to get an Android based phone and I thought I had decided on one, but since then I keep seeing other options and I'm not sure what to go with any more. It would be nice if anyone could point me to the best option for me. The only things I'm looking for in an android phone specifically is the ability to call, text (very little chance this won't be included :P) and GPS. I do not want a high-end one, and I certainly don't want one which has an enormous screen/form like the Desire, Galaxy S or likewise. I'm looking to spend no more than �250, but would prefer the option to be sub-�200 and possible to buy in the UK. I'm not looking for a contract or branded, and want to buy it outright, so importing can be an option assuming it's not troublesome. It's important that the tech be powerful enough that the UI isn't sluggish and is fairly responsive. A nice plus would be to have WiFi capability, with it being possible to tether. The phone I was originally looking at was the HTC Wildfire, and the only downside I could find about the phone was the screen resolution. Then I seen an announcement for the new LG Optimus One and became unsure and thought there may be another better option around.

I'm rooted but s is still on and nand is not unlocked. I'm running the stock rom.
I use to get little delays occasionally when I tried to make a phone call, and sometimes the keyboard was unresponsive when I tried to text. Always passed in a few minutes.
Now the thing is just lagging. delays all the time regardless of what I'm doing. I also get a message sometimes when I try to take pics saying I don't have file permissions for the sd card. A shutdown will usually resolve this.
Sometimes when I shutdown I can't restart it without popping the battery out for a few seconds.
I thought it might be related to an overclock widget I was trying so I deleted it without improvement.

On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..

Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

Someone on another post posted that under the new update you can no longer use the GPS and take a phone call. I immediately thought this guy was a dumb ass but to my surprise he was correct. Once you take the phone call the data connection is lost.So my question is which really dumb engineer thought this was a good idea? Seriously that is about the dumbest thing I can think of! Like people dont take phone calls while trying to find their way to someplace?

I might be a little late on this but does adding another person during a call cost extra? I just found out by pressing menu during a phone call lol. Would I be charged for a 3-way or conference call for doing that?
BTW what does the flash thing do (The 1 that has a phone with arrows pointing in opposite directions)

This morning, I was on the phone when I realized I needed to refer to a gmail thread. So I put caller on speakerphone, hit the home button, went to gmail. I wasn't able to pull up an email thread from several days back that was in my inbox. I was getting a "no signal" "Retry" button.
I tested it again when I was on another call a bit later, and tried to pull up the same email, couldn't do it. Same error message. But oddly enough was able to pull up an email from just yesterday.
What I don't know is, is gmail having trouble because of how old the email is? Freak occurence?

I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
