HTC Incredible :: Gmail Not Getting Pushed To Phone
May 9, 2010For some reason my Gmail isn't getting pushed to my phone anymore - it's acting like it's polling or set to manual refresh. I didn't change any settings that I remember. The only thing that changed was an update to the Quick Settings app.

Jan 28, 2010for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

Sep 25, 2012About a week ago, I ceased receiving my Gmail messages automatically. If I go into Gmail and do a manual refresh, the messages will show up. I have a DINC2running stock Gingerbread. The only change I made about the time this happened was the installation of GO Launcher, which I've subsequently removed. I've done a battery pull as well as a data cache clean up, all to no avail.

Nov 28, 2010I have the gmail app setup on my HTC desire HD and it works perfectly, however when I open the HTC mail app and try and add gmail to that it doesn't work giving me a password error (even though I am sure it is right) I want to use the htc mail app as it will allow me to have all my email accounts in the same mail box. I have tested it with a hotmail account and it works fine, is gmail supported?

May 1, 2010I am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Oct 13, 2010I just left the BlackBerry world. Been an avid Gmail user and I own my own business. Emails sent to my business email is forwarded to my Gmail account. In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

May 4, 2010I am having issues with my Gmail push feature. I opted for the Gmail app instead of the HTC mail app. The only issue is my emails aren't being pushed to my phone. When I go into the Gmail app and click on accounts & check the settings it has Auto Sync checked and also the correct Gmail account. When I go to settings>Accounts & Sync> Auto Sync is checked there as well along with my Gmail account. I have sent numerous test emails from my work PC to my personal Gmail account but the emails aren't popping up as new notifications or even in the Gmail app until I actually open the Gmail app several minutes later. What is going on here? I thought Gmail was supposed to be a true "Push" mail client that worked on the Incredible.

May 13, 2010I got my Incredible on April 29th and setup my Exchange email account and was able to send and receive with no problems. Contacts and calendar synced with no problems. Everything was fine for about a week then I noticed I was no longer receiving emails. I could send with no problems and contacts and calendar still synced ok, I just could not get emails using wither WiFi or Verizon's network. I went into the account settings and activesync settings and see an error message that said "error occurred on the computer running the exchange server". Deleting and recreating the account on the Incredible seems to work, but for only about 7-10 days then right back in the same boat. I do not think the phone is the issue as I had a Droid and had the almost identical problem.
On the Droid I did not see the error message but I would stop receiving emails after about a week. I have tried Touchdown and it's almost the same issue, except that the error is something along the lines of "mail queued on the server". Again, removing and reinstalling the account in Touchdown resolves the issue for about another week. I called our corp help desk folks and it was a wasted phone call. All I got from them was we don't support mobile devices via activesync and wouldn't talk about it anymore, so I am leaning toward something on our mail server causing the issue. My only problem with that answer is that we also have other users here with iPhones and Windows mobile devices and they are not having any problems, and they are also connected via activesync.

Aug 3, 2010I did the official update today. I didn't mess with the one over the weekend.I use the gmail app for email. Emails are not being pushed instantly as they always have. Did a battery pull, and checked the sync settings, and they are all set to sync as they should be.

Jul 5, 2010I'm a new EVO owner that came from the Palm Pre. On the Pre, I had the option to "receive email as they come" or to have the mail application check for mail every x minutes. Why do I not have an option like that with the EVO? The only option that I can find re: checking email is to set it up to check for new email every x minutes or manually (click refresh). I'd love to have the emails come immediately (and I want the better battery life of having emails pushed).

When I press that, I'd like my BT to turn on, my WiFi to turn off, Drivesafe.ly to turn itself on and the Car Panel to open up. Not sure exactly how I'd configure it, but just an idea. I'm now testing out Bluetooth Power Profile which will turn BT on any time the charger is plugged in, but I'm looking for a bit more control. My issue is that I have other people who access the accounts as well (from desktop computers), and I need to be notified when they send emails.
