First of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?

My Incredible has appropriate volume for phone calls, but when I plug in my earbuds, to listen to podcasts, etc., the volume is much too low. Does anybody know of any way to increase the volume when using earbuds? I do have the volume key set all the way to high, but for music and podcasts it doesn't make it.

I mostly use the phone with ear buds, not the ones that came with it but a quality pair. Music volume is ok although also lower than my mt3g.
Just bought the x10i and loving it, got a few problems but which phone on the market is 100% perfect. I do however have an issue with the low in-call volume and ringer volume. Its very low and struggling to hear the other party, I see from other threads this isn't an isolated issue. Will SE be sending out an update to solve this problem? It seems like a batch issue as not everyone is experiencing this fault.
View 2 Replies View RelatedStill debating on which phone to buy. With the droid x the major concern is soft volume (some phones seem softer than others); rumors of over heating and wifi issues.
Is there a known hack to fix the volume issue; or has Motorola ack the issue and have publically indicated a fix is in the works? Next weekend is no-tax weekend (in Ma) so I might try to pick a phone up then...
I'm pretty sure the wifi issue is a firmware problem (shame on moto for using an encrypted boot loader and having bugs like this one); not sure if overheating is limited to a few phones or is a design issue.
Anyways please add comments (negative and positive) relative to alternatives (samsung s and evo are major contenders). With the samsung the major negative is it pauses now and then and also have soft volume (there is a fix for the gps issue); for evo the major negative is +$10 and poor battery life (this phone is nice and loud) also the display is a bit dimmer than the droid x (an issue for outdoor usage).
It seems so basic but I can't seem to increase call volume without turning up ringtone volume as well. am I missing something here?

I am using the exact same custom ringtones I made for my Droid on my Droid X and my Droid X is much, much lower on ringer volume, even at max setting. Due to this, I am missing tons of text messages and a bunch of phone calls when I am in a place that has even slight noise. On my Droid, I could hear my ringer even in the noisiest of places. I can't hardly hear my Droid X in the quiet places. Are there any tips, tricks, or hacks that can increase the overall volume on the X?

I'll manually bump it down two or three notches and it sounds fine, but then it goes right back to maximum volume for the next call. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed times when my in-call volume is stuck on high even when turned all the way down to the lowest setting. I traced this to having previously connected to a bluetooth device for phone use (this happens with two different bluetooth accessories). After disconnecting from bluetooth (whether or not the bluetooth antenna is also turned off), call volume is extremely loud and doesn't respond to the volume-down key. I have to reset the phone to get it back to normal. Anyone else notice this? Any fix for this? I presume this is a bug in the Android 2.1 OS. BTW--this also happens with a friend's Eris running a 2.1 leak v3.
