I was wondering if anyone has this problem. When someone calls my incredible I try to swipe the screen down, but the screen is non responsive whether i swipe up or down. I tried to search the forums for this problems, but i couldn't find anything on here or on a google search. Is there an app that fixes this?

I have noticed this as of today. I have been trying to hit some buttons like Home and Back but the phone isn't responding... Anyone else getting this problem? Also I have noticed that When I turn my phone from off to on the Wi-Fi just auto starts. Anyone else having these issues? Any Fixes? I am using Steinheil Crystal Clear Screen Protector but have had it on abou a week and just yesterday the phone started being un responsive. any ideas?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo my EVO screen is unresponsive only when I use the dialer (keys 7, 8, 9 in stock dialer and 4, 5, 6 when I tried dialer one). Last I recall this was not an issue when using Fresh 0.5.3 but first emerged when i switched to Fresh 1.01. I promptly returned to Fresh 0.5.3 and the problem was gone. Within the last several weeks, I switched to a 2.2 ROM (Fresh 3.2) and the problem wasn't there until recently when I began flashing different ROMs to try. Anyone run into this a similar non-responsive touch screen only in certain apps and areas? The area of the screen is fine in other apps, it seems to be limited to the dialer.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but a few hours ago it happened 3 times in a row.I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?My phone is stock, no rooting or roms. I've downloaded a few apps from Android market and that's about it.My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for a week now and today it developed something new. When I plug in the battery charger, the touch screen becomes almost entirely non-responsive. When I attempt to slide the Lock Screen away it either won't move or I can get it to slightly move but it bounces right back or even sticks halfway. If I unplug the charger and wait about a minute it's back to working fine again. I've removed the battery a few times now to see if this helped but nothing seems to help. It didn't do this till today. Anyone else run into this problem and if so how did you remedy it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHey Androidforums mates, When I use my fingertips (index finger) on the touch screen (not my fingernail but just below it), it's not as responsive as using the flat part of your finger. Does this happen to you? Every time I use my fingertip to scroll around, it would always accidental open an app or accidental open up a link. If i use my thumb by the flat surface, it's fine as well.
Example:
The fingertip I was talking about is labeled "A" which I am having problems scrolling around with (seems like not sensing that part of the finger sometimes). If i use the part labeled "B", it's fine and 'connects' with my finger. It's fine when I press harder using "A" but that's CZ it is sensing more of my finger.
My contacts weren't backed up to google+. I really need to access my phone through my laptop to copy my contacts atleast? In can access recovery mode and wipe it but I really want my contacts off of it and some text messages. How I can do this? My replacement nexus 4 through device protection plan just arrived and I need to send the broken one back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy galaxy s2's screen has occasionally stopped responding, the os was still running and everything so it wasnt frozen, my touch screen just simply stopped working. Only way to fix it was to hit the back of the phone and do a battery reset. This issue started poping up more and more, and now it won't respond.

No custom roms/kernels have ever been installed, has always run off the stock. Never been dropped or had water on it (I took very good care of it).
The nav bar at the bottom (back/search/options/menue) and hardware buttons all work. Everything above the screen no longer works.
What iv done: I've reset the phone, did a bettery pull for the night, fully charged it, looked at the board and checked all the connections (all good). Would flashing a custom rom/kernel be something to try next? Why would the bottom nav bar work but no the rest of the screen? Could it be locked somehow? If it is.. how would I unlock it?
I was able to initially but some setting must have changed and now I can't. Is there anyone who could steer me in the right direction to what setting I have screwed up?

I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

My screen blanks, I guess to keep you from hitting buttons with your ear, but when using a bluetooth headset it also blanks. Sometimes tilting the phone wakes the display, sometime the top button does. But sometimes neither hs an effect, and the screen remains off until the call is over. Anyone else have this, and figure it out? Are there settings somewhere to control this behavior?
This is only a problem when I make calls which require entering a number to select an option(i.e., press 1 for...).I know the screen times out(?) when on calls normally and that it will light up again when it senses the call has ended, but if I have to see the keyboard to press a number to make a selection, pressing the power button to bring it up usually takes too long. By the time I get the screen up and press a button, the system on the other end doesn't recognize it. OR, I'll press the power button and it won't come up at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem,(verizon incredible) when im streaming music via bluetooth in the car and check my notification slide down bar no problem but if im on a call using bluetooth via the car stereo when i want to look at my notifications or press "2" for an automated system my screen will flicker on and off and you have to time it right to catch it before the screen dims im talking a split second i thought maybe it was the proximity sensor that dims the screen to save battery when the phone is on your ear but i have no clue why this is, i ruled out the proximity sensor cause the phone would be in my hand or on my bracketron universal windshield mount
Also if i try using the power button to bring the screen on again it does nothing but confuses the phone and slows it down
I know its not the screen timeout cause it comes back without hitting the power button.
Is there any way to change the screen with the little Droid Dude while you are making or receiving a call?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you make a call, you naturally put the phone up to your ear. I noticed that as soon as it is near my face, the screen shuts off. At first, I thought it was the motion of bringing your phone up to the ear that does it. But test it by putting your hand near it and it shuts the screen off.
I have a number programmed that uses P's (pauses). It pauses for 3xP's while the phone rings, then enters a couple more digits (my office voicemail code). But when the screen shuts off, it never dials the additional digits. If I hold the phone in front of me, the screen stays on and it dials all of the numbers.
So how does it know the phone is up to my ear? I would like to shut this feature off...
Just wondering if others are experiencing this:
Seems that maybe 1 out of every 3 or so phone calls I get, especially if the phone's been relaxing in my pocket for >1hr with no use, when I receive a call, the phone freezes.
The receive call screen appears, but I can't swipe down to receive. Can't swipe up to ignore, and hitting the power button on top simply ignores the call.
Anybody else ever see this? It's been fairly constant since I got my phone a couple months ago.
Quick edit question - is there a screen I can find on the phone that shows all my recent downloads? I have ASTRO and can find stuff on the SD card alright, but tracking down files I've downloaded from my email/dropbox, etc is always tough for me.
I've searched around and so far I've only found apps that reject (forward to voicemail) calls from a particular list. What I am looking for is a way to reject a call from he lockscreen or incoming call screen.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this something that needs to be done with an apparently?
I singed into facebook and it put all my facebook contacts i unchecked it by view and stuff so i cant see them in my contact box but when i hit call on the home screen all of the facebook contacts are there how do i get them off

Anyone else notice when you're on a phone call if you move your finger near the little dot to the left of the verizon logo the screen will turn off? It's annoying when multitasking because that functionality remains regardless of whether the phone call is the active screen or not. If you are watching the Google Navigation screen and you're on a call, move your finger near the little dot next to the verizon logo and the screen turns off.

I'm using earbuds so the phone isn't near my face and it recognizes the phones as I can see the headset icon. I keep the phone on my desk and the screen times out almost immediately after I make a call and accept an incoming call. It's extremely annoying since I make a ton of work calls and I need to either navigate through an auto attendant and / or leave a message. All of which I have to hit the power button every single time I want the screen to turn back on. I have noticed that the volume buttons turn the screen back on as well.
The screen timeout is set at 2 minutes under the "Sound & Display" category but that doesn't effect the screen time out during a call. Anyone out there have a solution?
I have a problem with the new HTC Desire HD.
When I make a call the screen goes blank, but I cannot get it back again, even if I press the button on the top of the phone. None of the other touch button function either meaning the only way to finish a call is to pull the battery out!
Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

However, when I finish the phone call or take the phone away from my ear... I get the lock screen. Why? Why doesn't the screen just go back on to whatever screen was on before the phone call... like the dial pad. To hang up a phone call, I have to unlock the screen first.

For example, I am on a phone call using BT headset, I press the power button and put the phone to sleep, put the phone in my pocket, end the call and the screen wakes up with the dialer open. Guess what happens next.....pocket dialing!
WM would end the call and the screen wouldn't turn on, and even after waking it up it was locked.
BT headsets, voice dialing, but I can't just leave the phone in my pocket?
End call should equal no wake or unlock(no action)
