Not that this causes any problems but the phone gets really hot sometime, even when it's just chilling in my pocket. I have a task manager(called task manager) that auto kills apps 1min after screen timeout. Any advice on why it overheats? I never exit my Mail and Music app(put them on ignore list), could they be the cause?

I find my phone overheating. It was at 130 degrees! What was the problem? Well, I forgot to close an application! So if you have the gumbo kernel. Make sure you don't run any applications and leave them open. So if you ever have the same problem, turn off your phone and place it by an open window and let it cool off for a good 5-10 minutes.

I will get a triangle in my notification bar, open it and the music player is running and listed as ongoing. There is no stop button, only pause, and apparently backing out of the app does not turn it off. Should I look into a task killer for this?

I've been using the HTC app, but have noticed that after a day or so the notification sound stops playing when I receive an email. This happened for anyone else? Anyone tried both apps for any length of time and have strong opinions over which app is better? I saw a review that said the HTC app is better but the Google one doesn't seem too bad to me... Anyone using the Google app that would care to chime in?

The issue is that I am using an RDP program that allows me to attach to a single connection, the kick is that I need the ability to toggle between those machines and the app does not do that natively. I can also see it being useful for a situation when you need to toggle between two documents that are both open with the same application.
I know that it is really not made to do this natively but if there is are ROMs that include that functionality or a way to alter android to do this. In addition, it would be great to be able to tell the system which applications can and can't function that way.
I currently have a nexus 7, transformer prime and transformer infinity to test this with.
Lets discuss the best nightly combos with kernals and other things to make CM6 better.
I found that 9/24 nightly made things lag when you have the music player running. i've never experienced so much lag until I used my music player. Just a heads up. Great battery life. Was charged at 67 last night and woke up this morning and I'm at 16 percent and the Battery Info says it's been off the charger for 12 hours. Imagine if I was at 100 percent instead of 67. That's with the collins battery tweak with kernal 14
9/13 didn't give me a lot of freezes and restarts, but lately it started. I'm assuming this is because of jit maybe?
As a previous thread I made, the latest nightlys give you the ability to "swipe" your individual notifications instead of just pushing the "clear all" button. nice addition.
I need an app to record times and distances for biking and running. I don't need it to calculate anything for me I just need it to save data from my workouts that I will collect from other devices. I just want to be able to view how my times and etc are progressing from workout to workout.

It's interesting enough to hear the "Droid..." notification (changeable, I know) every time a FB friend posts, I get a TXT or an e-mail. Problem is, I don't want to receive these at 3 in the morninig, nor do I want to turn off my sounds in case of a call or TXT that *is* important.
Any way to tell the Droid exactly when I want it to check facebook and e-mail? Old LG 10000 allowed you to set the times it checked for e-mail.
I have instaled Handcent and gone into my standard message settings and turned off all ntifications and reports but when I check my app killer it shows it as still running all the time. Really annoying as it's extra drain on the battery.

I have a bunch of server-side filters that move unread email into different folders, but its not possible on the Hero to see which imap folders have unread items (except In box). I've tried both the Mail app and K-9 but couldn't find a setting to show them. Anyone else figured it out?
So the Verizon-based ROMs don't support my Exchange Server's policies while the Hero-based ROMs do. This would be all fine and dandy if not for the realization that I haven't found a Hero-based ROM that I like. It would be great if there was a way to take the Hero mail app and add it to one of my favorite ROMs like xtrROM or Aloysius.

In particular the speaker in the front and where the camera is in the back. The heat generated is really intense and is really uncomfortable after a certain amount of time. What I want to know is anybody else having this issue?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have finally figured out why I don't always get a notification for new mails on my HTC Hero.
I have setup an Exchange account for the build in mail application that comes with the phone, and I want it to give me a notification when I receive a new e-mail.
This will however only happen if the mail ends up in the Inbox folder in my Exchange account.
I do not get any notification if I have a rule that moves the mail automatically to a sub folder in the Inbox.
I like to sort my mails using a folder for each sender and I use the rules in Outlook to do this automatically, but this prevents the notification feature in the HTC Hero mail application from working.
I can still refresh a folder in the phone mail program and download all received mails, but no notifications and I have to do this manually.
It seems to me that the Inbox folder is only folder to be updated automatically by the ActiveSync connection.
I have my Data Syncronization settings set to As Items Arrive.
So do any of you out there know how to get the mail program to download all new mails as they arrive and give a notification on the phone, not matter what folder the mail ends up in on the Echange server?
I just installed 2.1 for HTC Hero and I was wondering if someone knows a good music application to download songs like imusic or music junk. I do not think those applications are available on 2.1 so someone know any good one?

I would like to remove my G mail account from the actual G mail app since I am not using it. How do I do that? HOWEVER, if I enter the list view and go to albums in the app, the right art is show beside each album. As well, I installed MixZing music app, and it shows the right albums.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the Google Music app my songs are showing up 3 times, same when I try to set an alarm with a song. Only the last of the 3 of any song will play. I'm unsure what I need to clear to fix this. I wiped my cache's in CWM and rebooted but it didn't change anything. They were coming up the same in PlayerPro but I did a refresh tracks in app and it fixed it. App that are giving me problems are Google Music, N7 & the stock Samsung player. So I'm assuming it's not an app issue as it does it on different ones. I'm running the latest Perfection ICS rom.

I've tried the HTC headphones and my own both used to work fine now even through the little headphones or headphones and mic icon is displayed the music still plays through the loud speaker. Its actually playing through both loudspeaker and ear phones.

I can run it fine on a phone running 1.5 but when I try to launch it with an emulator running 1.5, the emulator doesn't show up on the list of available AVDs. It seems that each icon is representing an activity, and since my application contains 3 tabs(with activities) the first 3 icons on my menu go to a particular activity, and the 4th icon takes me to the app itself

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer.
