I just got the droid. I added my earthlink email account to it. The last two days I have been getting the same e mail two or three times. I know they aren't sending it out more than once as I don't get it more than once at home what setting can I change to go back to getting one emai on my droid

So it's almost bed time here on the east coast... It's interesting enough to hear the "Droid..." notification (changeable, I know) every time a FB friend posts, I get a TXT or an e-mail. Problem is, I don't want to receive these at 3 in the morninig, nor do I want to turn off my sounds in case of a call or TXT that *is* important.
Any way to tell the Droid exactly when I want it to check facebook and e-mail? Old LG 10000 allowed you to set the times it checked for e-mail.
Not that this causes any problems but the phone gets really hot sometime, even when it's just chilling in my pocket. I have a task manager(called task manager) that auto kills apps 1min after screen timeout. Any advice on why it overheats? I never exit my Mail and Music app(put them on ignore list), could they be the cause?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I would just like the functionality of the gmail app that came on the phone for other e-mail accounts as well.Anyone know of any updates coming that might address this?

I am getting notifications from both so I have to read and delete everything twice. I can't Uninstall either of them. Is there a fix for this? They both access the same account so everything is just doubled.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I searched the forum but no results to what I want to know. After setting up my new D2, the phone has listed some, actually all, of my contacts multiple times. Each contact is listed 4 times, and it's really annoying having to scroll through 400 people when there really should only be around 100. I haven't been able to find any of the contact management options that my old D1 had, ie filters and stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am always conscious of battery lately, this is actually kind of annoying. Its extra work to get the GPS enabled when trying to use google maps. Why can't it just auto enable when one touch? I don't enable all these features (except refresh for push email) bc I'm so paranoid about this darn battery.... Plus, I'm always killing apps. Just want to know what you guys keep running and how your batteries are fairing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, I have 2 accounts on my X - one is a Gmail that I rarely use, and the other is a hotmail account which is frequently used.
I'm coming from Black Berry and I kinda understand that the mail is delivered differently but ever since I set up my hotmail I've received 3 sets of the same messages, read or un-read. Now every time this has happened there has been 1 new unread message, so I assume its when my X syncs with the server. Is there something I can change, or should have done during setup? I'm using the stock email app.

I just got the droid today. It has crashed like 7 times. I will be playing around on it and it acts like it is getting overloaded and shuts off and restarts. anyone else with this problem? what could be causing this?

My first droid reset multiple times a day. I then exchanged it and since then I've had no problems at all. Get a reset maybe once a week or less and thats usually because I'm doing too many things with the phone.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I ever want to restart my phone I have to pull my battery multiple times to get it to boot. It will load the Motorola M and sit there. Usually takes about 2 or 3 battery pulls to move onto the droid logo. I am on 2.3.9 Leak and am running the Revolution Theme.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running BB 0.4 and have been for some time.I use the multimedia dock that launches the clock.apk. The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Froyo and when I put the phone in the desktop dock it goes into desktop mode but the screen times out after about 30 seconds. When I had 2.1 it stayed fully lit the whole time it was on the dock.Did this happen to anyone else?This is really annoying because I use it next to my office computer to easily check my schedule, time, tasks etc.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI read today that there was a new version of Swype available from their download page, so I logged in and downloaded it and installed it. Everything it working fine. However, since I installed it I have noticed in the notification bar that I have now downloaded two new Swype installed files. Thing is, I never went back and redownloaded it. Once I had opened up Twicca and once I had opened up the Market apps and it just started donwloading.
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how it's downloading without me instructing it to?
Is there a Froyo ROM out there that doesnt have a 10 minute boot time?
OK it is not exactly 10 minutes but my boot times seem to have grown from 2.01 to 2.1 to rooted 2.1 and rooted Froyo. Plain Vanilla Froyo 1ghz
Sometimes with the home or back button not responding at times? Kind of like a freeze where u have to press the buttons a couple of times then they will respond. Also, have you noticed that sometimes that pressing the power button will not wake the phone up? And when my phone call ends, it takes a while for the screen to come back from black so I can end the call. Should I get an exchange for my phone or are these issues supposed to be resolved with the update coming?

I am going to email them and see if I can get my account reset or not but if not that sucks. Edit I posted this in the root forum because no stock would be installing this over and over.

These aren't even apps I use, like a Sudoku game I haven't tried once yet. I'm not too worried about it, since performance seems to be fine, but I'm wondering if this will affect battery life.

So I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?
View 6 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
