I need an app to record times and distances for biking and running. I don't need it to calculate anything for me I just need it to save data from my workouts that I will collect from other devices. I just want to be able to view how my times and etc are progressing from workout to workout.

What's the best way to record a video showing things running on the Android Emulator? I want to record little demo videos of stuff running so I can put it on YouTube. I'm running the emulator on either Windows or a Mac.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my new galaxy note (i717) on friday (immediately flashing it with OnlyOne beta 2 (ics)) and I would like to use it for a bit of podcasting using the front camera to record myself while I read text from some teleprompter software.
I can record video from the front camera just fine, and it actually comes out a bit higher quality than I expected even, but for the life of me, when i hit the record button and then switch away from the camera app to the prompter app, it gives me an audio notification that the camera has stopped recording.
is there prompter software that has an integrated video recorder? (that'd be pretty sweet imho) or better, some way to record video while another app (that's not particularly resource intensive) is in use? - I don't mind trimming and cutting the video together (there are actually some pretty decent editing tools for android i've found) but I can't figure out a way to record and prompt at the same time...
What I would like to do is to run 2 instances of an application or more. The issue is that I am using an RDP program that allows me to attach to a single connection, the kick is that I need the ability to toggle between those machines and the app does not do that natively. I can also see it being useful for a situation when you need to toggle between two documents that are both open with the same application.
I know that it is really not made to do this natively but if there is are ROMs that include that functionality or a way to alter android to do this. In addition, it would be great to be able to tell the system which applications can and can't function that way.
I currently have a nexus 7, transformer prime and transformer infinity to test this with.
Not that this causes any problems but the phone gets really hot sometime, even when it's just chilling in my pocket. I have a task manager(called task manager) that auto kills apps 1min after screen timeout. Any advice on why it overheats? I never exit my Mail and Music app(put them on ignore list), could they be the cause?

I can run it fine on a phone running 1.5 but when I try to launch it with an emulator running 1.5, the emulator doesn't show up on the list of available AVDs. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've created a class which is an extension of Thread. This class hits a web service and throws some data on screen. I don't care about persisting this data (the screen displays search results).
Currently, the user simply types into an EditText and clicks a search button. I'd like to take away the search button and implement something similar to Google's Instant Search where, as you type, the search results get updated.
This means, as the user types, the search parameters change. I want to be able to kill the currently running thread (if one is currently running) and spawn a new one with the new search string. How can this be achieved? Can I do it with Thread or will I need to use a new object?
I noticed that if i dont use the app to kill running apps after i exit them they are still running in the background is this normal for the Android? I am coming from Pre so not sure if they are killed when exited.

All was well until the last update, where version 3.6.0 was corrupted in the Android Market. I have spoken to the developer by email and the problem has been fixed now. However, whenever I try to download now, the download fails, and Market FC's when I cancel the download. I have managed to find an old version I had backed up, but I am now stuck at v2.7.3. Can someone post the apk for version 2.8.0 please? I have asked the developer, but he did not reply. This is a paid app, and is linked to the phone ID, so I am not trying to install without paying.

I'm a developer looking to create an Android application to record phone calls. This spawned out of my own personal need to record phone calls for my own purposes and for my records. Is it possible to do this? Is it possible to get access to the microphone and what's coming through the speaker? I'm kind of new to Android development, so bear with me :) I assume that I could probably record into WAV and then at the end of the call, transcode it into MP3 using LAME or something. This may kill the battery, but this seems like a good project for me to get used to Android with. I'm looking to use Android 2.X.
