I know that this is a silly question, but I can't seem to access my voicemail running the Cyanogen rom. I get the text saying a number has called me and left me a voicemail, but I don't know what to call to access them.

Do any of the ROMS come with an native exchange e-mail app. I use my phone for work this would be deal breaker for rooting
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Sprint Hero, and I flashed the newest cyanogenmod (6.0 froyo) rom.but my voicemail does not work properly.I just get a text message saying the person has sent me a Voice SMS, but then I cannot retrieve it. Anything I can do, or is this a quirk with the rom?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI clicked on the voicemail icon, on my homepage, and it asked me if I wanted to download an update to which I said yes. It then started with the process and the screen said it was downloading.........2 days later, every time I go into voicemail ..it says it's downloading. I tried to cancel...1 day later it is still cancelling. How can I get out of this screen?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about 4 months now, and other than the battery issue (I do use it a lot) I'm pretty satisfied. However since Thursday last week, I've had the SAME phone number call me, have someone jabber at me, and then hang up! I looked up the area code, and it's in Jamaica! Today has been the worst, I've had 5 calls from that same number. Frankly its really started to get annoying. I called Sprint, and asked customer care if they can block that number from the account. And they can't do that. Apparently blocking that number is an infringement on their rights. On my Hero, I've been able to find that I can just push all those calls from that number to my voice mail, but I can't block it from my line altogether. Anyone else having the same or similar issue that has come up with another option?

I keep reading that each app has a setting that allows one to select a unique sound, but I am not able to find this setting for the stock email app, or the voicemail app. The only options under email settings are:
Email notifications - ON or OFF
Notification sound - ON or OFF
Notification vibrate - ON or OFF
Under Voicemail settings, I see NO choices for notifications.
How I can have different notifications for voice mail, text messages, FB, etc.

2) How do I stop google voice from loading and running automatically whenever i reboot my phone? If i go to menu>settings>applications>running services, I can force stop it there, but I dont want it ever loading, I don't use google vioce.
should the voice mail icon have a number on it like the email or text icons if you get a new voicemail? If I get a notification, it only shows up on the task bar. I was also experiencing not recieving texts. I have since done a reset which fixed the text issue (and sleep-for now), but not the voicemail. Should I take the phone back? I fear its anotjer software bug, not hardware. I love this phone, but I'm getting very annoyed that it can't even do what its suppose to.

There is no prompt to activate the default system greeting that reads your phone number back to the caller. For example "You have reached the voicemail box of 123-123-1234" Now I am required to record my own name or greeting. I just got off of the phone with Sprint and they told me due to "Visual Voicemail" that I have been switched to a new voicemail system. Can you confirm that you no longer have a prompt for the System Greeting?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed cyanogen 6.0 on my htc hero cdma and now I have no market app. I dont have any file manager like astro where I can install apk files through the sdcard. Ive tried using the adb push command from my pc but it says that it couldnt because its a read-only file system. (lost me there!) Is it possible to install it by flashing a zip of it from recovery like a rom. Im kind of stuck here, I have no way of installing new apps....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.
is anyone having issues with yahoo. i cant seem to retrieve my mail from their servers.

I loved the feature in Sprint's V-mail, that allowed me to connect directly to another Sprint users V-mail. It was a great time saver, allowed me to just leave the message & get on w/ my day (ok I admit it, it was mainly used to avoid talking to my mother when I knew she was in a bad mood)Since I got the Moment, even when I call my v-mail directly, said option is no longer there. Borrowed my g'friends phone for a minute, and the options is still there for her. I checked Sprint's forums, and couldn't find anything about them changing the v-mail with the Moment.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. A couple of nights ago I was prompted to enter (record) my own "greeting" and now I cant find the option to revert back to the default one. I tried all the options after calling my own voice mail but cant seem to find the default greeting option. Also, I stopped receiving voice mail notification (the numerical number of voice mails I have next to the voicemail icon) after the software update. how do i get that to work again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally changed the voicemail system on my Hero from Sprint's "visual voicemail" (which is misleading because it doesn't transcribe voicemails) to Google Voice. It's nice to see my transcribed voicemails now. However, when I actually want to hear them (if the transcription didn't work well), it only comes through the external speaker; the speaker on the back of the phone. I went into Google Voice settings and under "Voicemail Playback" I tried the only two options: "Play via Handset" and "Play via Speaker." Unfortunately, both play through the speaker phone speaker. How do I change it to the phone speaker? I also can't adjust the volume, so the whole world hears my voicemails through the external speaker.

I have a task manager(called task manager) that auto kills apps 1min after screen timeout. Any advice on why it overheats? I never exit my Mail and Music app(put them on ignore list), could they be the cause?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need some help here if you can. I was running the latest cyanogen rom and it was running pretty smooth. Then I tried to change the theme without flashing clockwork!! ( duh, I forgot!!! )now I'm stuck on the moto logo!! I tried wiping the whole phone, factory reset, my backups , battery pull, and its still stuck on the moto logo. I got my phone to boot up now! I was just getting a lil frustrated, thats all. I think the phone needed to take a lil break too!

View 9 Replies View RelatedOne thing I've noticed with my HTC Hero (Sprint) is that I have a very short period of time to answer an incoming call before the caller is directed to voice mail. When I do answer the phone people are routinely telling me that it rang 4 or more times before I answered even though, from my perspective, I answered it rather quickly. Could this have something to do with using downloaded ringtones? Perhaps, while the phone should be ringing, instead, it is loading the ringtone off the sdcard.
