I can't seem to find the answer so it probably is a no. Is there anyway to keep ABC default at all times? I use the phone keypad and it kinda gets annoying when it puts itself on XT9 all the time and I have to turn it off before I type.

Last Friday an OTA update became available for my Epic.I now have Media Hub, which I did not have on my phone when I purchased it last week.Ever since the update while in an application I press the "Home" key to return to my main screen and a window pop-ups that shows 3 options: Home, TWLauncher or LaunchPro. When I click on the check mark "Use by default for this action" and then LaunchPro.I select the LaunchPro by default and you would think that would be the last time i have to do that.It doesn't set it by default and that window keeps popping up every time I try to go back to the touchscreen while inside in an app.I went into the manage applications screen to clear the defaults for the "Home" and "TWLauncher" instead of clearing the defaults for the "LaunchPro". Doing that still doesn't make the LaunchPro the default. When I go back into an application and choose to view my main screen by pressing the "Home" key the pop-up windows comes up for me to make a selection between "Home", "TWLauncher" or "LaunchPro".
I also did download a Home launcher program called "Home Switcher". That still does not lock in the default for me to use LaunchPro.It seems to me that I'm going to have to go to the Sprint store for them to fix the problem, unless you have any more ideas.I did try to troubleshoot this the best I could before posting my problem on here. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Other than this bug I love my Epic.Can anyone help me? I really don't want to go to the Sprint store about this. Is this a permanent bug or is there a solution out there for this? Maybe this is a bug that the 2.2 Froyo update could fix.

I have a task manager(called task manager) that auto kills apps 1min after screen timeout. Any advice on why it overheats? I never exit my Mail and Music app(put them on ignore list), could they be the cause?

I will get a triangle in my notification bar, open it and the music player is running and listed as ongoing. There is no stop button, only pause, and apparently backing out of the app does not turn it off. Should I look into a task killer for this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor those that suffer from poor battery life or high awake times, I was given a code to enter that will give you all kinds of hidden info about the battery and what programs are running in the background keeping the phone from sleeping. Hit phone, as if you were dialing a number to call, enter *#*#4636#*#*, then talk. You will seee a menu come up that you can change to show you all kinds of hidden info on the phone and battery. Hope this helps some of you that are suffering poor battery performance and high awake times.

Had to disable the one notification supported by Handcent and now is only the default one on which when I click- the Handcent client appears. Once I quit from Handcent, the icon is still on status bar, altough I've read the sms and have to close it via "close notifications" button. How to get rid the default sms notification?

I have my update settings set to every 30 minutes, but often I will check the client only to see that it hasn't been updated for hours. I had no default defined so that when I tapped a jpg file I got a popup menu asking which app I wanted to open it with. Someway or another I managed to check the box that says use this as the default and tapped the app before I could uncheck it. So now the built in picture viewer is set as the default and I would like to clear that so I get the popup box again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI switched from the default SMS to handscent SMS recently and I like everything but one little thing. When I get a text, two notifications appear in the top left corner. Once I answer the text, the handscent notification goes away, but the other mail notification will stay until I get another text message or clear all notifications. Is there a setting I have to change to only get one notification? Does this have anything to do with the fact that I had the popup message setting turned on so that every time I got a text a window popped up on my phone allowing me to answer the text much quicker than actually opening up Handscent messaging. Can anyone help me solve this problem? I just uninstalled it because of this reason, but if I can fix it, I would love to reinstall it and use it again.

I m trying to sync my contacts and calendar from outlook to my hero. i did it once, but after that, every time i connect my phone to the PC via the usb cable. the computer automatically connects it as a USB drive to the SD card which in turn does not allow me to connect for synchronization!...
is there a way to stop auto connect as USB drive? I need the phone to be in sync mode before i can start the htc sync app.

I went to add it back but I cannot find it. When I try to add the HTC weather map, it says there is no room - it wants to take up the entire screen.

When i open up the market app on my hero it shows an email address and asks for a pass word, does anyone know how to change that email address becausw i dont no the pass word, with this problem i carn't open the app market.

Am using the HTC Hero on 3 (UK) network - every now and again it decides to lose or update the voicemail number it dials when I press and hold the #1 key. View 2 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
When I tap on the HTC Calendar widget, the HTC calendar opens to the view of the month. Is there any way to change the default so that when I tap the widget it opens up the agenda view?
