After upgrading to 2.1, I had the Google navigate widget on my homescreen. It worked nicely and I used it a lot. I did a factory re-set to cure my Internet sharing problem (it worked) but now I cannot find the little blue triangle Google navigate icon anywhere. I can still get to Google navigate via Google maps, but would like my blue triangle widget back.

I have a weird icon on my HTC Hero that I have never seen before. Above the bars there is a triangle. The Hero manual does not address this icon. It seems to be completely undocumented. Although the manual says that an "R" in this area means your phone is in "roam mode", I believe my phone uses a triangle instead. In any case, my phone says that it is in digital roam mode. I have no idea why it seems to be stuck in this mode. I have rebooted it several times and, each time, it always goes into digital roam mode.

For a month constantly ignored then yesterday message displayed could no longer be postponed.Now the blue Navigation icon is missing & even when I do uninstall google maps update doesn't revert to 6.0. Is that because 4.3 won't allow it to and if so is there a work around. My phone was already set up to allow manual updates only which is how I kept blue navigation for so long & never updated maps. but when 4.3 was forced it looks as it removed blue navigation app.

My sister has a Samsung Galaxy y phone running Gingerbread 2.3.3 (not rooted). She plugged the phone after it ran out of charge and saw this screen (pic attached) with the battery icon empty and a blue triangle with a crossed out battery symbol inside it. The phone would not power up.
We tried everything : checked charger, plug points, usb charging, taking out battery and cleaning contacts but everything is fine.
A small triangle appeared today above the signal strength bars.

I installed Fabolous' NexTheme ESE81 R2 ROM using the SPRecovery method, and everything is running great except for one thing. When I search in Google maps and find my destination, the navigate button is greyed out and is unclickable. If I do a voice search of say, "navigate to [Destination]", the navigation app loads up and works fine.
What I am wondering is if possibly I missed something when installing the ROM that caused some conflict with Google maps? I searched around here and also other forums and didn't find much of an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Nexus 4 running stock Android 4.3, rooted. I like to use Google Now voice control in the car, but I can never get the command "navigate to work" to work.
I have my work address saved in Google Maps as "work," just like I have my home address saved under "home." The "navigate to home" voice action works perfectly: it always pulls up directions to my home. The "navigate to work" voice action NEVER works, it always pulls up Google search for the phrase "navigate to work."
I need the functionality because I require directions to work often.
PS I can search "work" in Google Maps and it does pull up my work address.
I used to really love the Latitude interface, when I clicked on a friend in Latitude, I got a screen with many options, including Navigate to, send text, etc.
One really cool feature on this screen was "what's nearby" which showed stores etc. that were near my friend.
Also, the background was black and the text was white.
NOW (after the last update): I lost the "what's nearby" feature AND the background is white and the text is black.
What can I do? Is there a way to revert maps to the older release?
so Google Talk has different bubble statuses that you can give yourself. Green for available, red for busy, etc but there's a blue bubble that is displayed.I read online that this means you have been "Idle" for 10 minutes but how does this work on the Android phone? If someone is always signed in, why does this bubble pop up?

View 40 Replies View RelatedI finally decided to root my phone Friday, then while playing with it last night I arrived at the point of having to load a rom or use adb to remove the Sprint bloatware. Well after much deliberation I decided to load Fresh 1.1 and am loving it! My graphics are sharper, noticed most clearly on my lock screen, which is the bullet hole in glass, and my programs list, before I could barely make out Achmed's face, now it is clear as a bell! I am currently at 10% on my up-time, battery I will have to watch a few days and see if I notice a difference since Sunday is a slow day on the phone for me. Things do appear a little snappier in some respects, other things have actually slowed a tad, but nothing bad enough to complain about. I loaded clear widgets, but with my wallpaper (Hokusai-The Great Wave) I could not read my calendar and other things due to the light colors, so I did a restore and was back to my fresh Fresh 1.1 easy as can be. Pre-Kitchen and Fresh 1.1 are awesome pieces of work, kudos! Now, if my wife will ever give me my truck back I can test the blue tooth functionality of Fresh 1.1!

I done the *#*#4636#*#*, the gps on networks off, auto killer on aggressive, battery defender and still her battery doesn't last. She keeps blue tooth on all the time and has three email accounts set @ every 15 mins. She says that when she was stock 1.5 it lasted all day. But the stock rom would restart by itself all the time. Boy I wish that I never rooted her phone. I've upgraded radio without any change in performance. What 2.1rom is easiest on the battery? Can I flash her back to a 1.5 rooted rom that is not a battery hog. I love my Fresh 2.0d I'm 75% at night before I go to bed. But I don't blue tooth either.

No icon (the car and the cloud) appears on the status bar. Is there any way to enable this?
