HTC Hero : GPS Not Working On ROM

I don't know if this issue is linked to rooting, but it has occurred since I rooted. As of this morning, it seems that none of my apps that would usually use GPS are using it (Aloqa, Trapster, GPS Speed, and of course Google Maps). Over the course of the morning I've been rolling back on android backups, even as far as going back to the stock ROM, where I definitely know it was working before. I've also tried rebooting with GPS set on or off, reflashing Roms, but to no avail. (I'm basing this on the lack of a GPS symbol in the notifications bar when the apps are running. Settings claims GPS is on)When I first noticed this morning, I was running MoDaCo 3.2

You will need to flash an extra file, but you can now run your rooted hero at 528 (or slower if you prefer)

just got my new Hero yesterday and spent last night setting it up.I pull e-mail from my home e-mail server (an Excito Bubba) via IMAP, and had settings that worked flawlessly with my old HTC Tyntyn I entered these these into the Hero and although the device 'accepted' them it's not downloading any e-mail.I've searched through all the settings including how many and how frequently to download e-mail and all seems ok.It's really frustrating as it should be so simple.I've also tried a simple pop3 account that I have with lineone and no joy in setting that one up either.I called Orange tech support but they couldn't help either and I don't really want to return the phone.I have also tried a factory reset a few times and re-entered the settings via the wizard and manually but still no joy.

I'm interested in how well Hero hardware handles flash sites, are they usable? Any gaming sites supported? Can you watch flash video sites other than youtube?

Since ROM upgrade to 1.6 i cant get Sync to work. Im using Windows XP SP3 uk edition
Im getting this error starting sync. "This Apllication has Failed to start because the application confirguration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Using USB and mount is working. On my home pc im using Win7 and there is no problem. I need it to work to sync, calendar with Lotus Notes, triede companionlink, but it cost.

As you can assume, its not working for me, not at all. My status in notifications says No active situations--Locale is monitoring your conditions. I have set a situation for work for home and even a 'test' situation. I added then deleted the defaults, I have added and deleted the locations, made sure I let the app 'find' each location, and even tried going by time alone, and it STILL won't come on. my gps is on, all locations setting are on, but that doesnt explain why it would not work by time setting. I have tried turning each situation off and on and re-adjusting the order of priority. I don't know what I am missing.
I was totally mortified today in a meeting at work, with four Korean engineers from Samsung, when my ringer (which I should have doubled checked anyway) does not go to vibrate, or even to my work ringtone as the 'situation' was set for both to occur, but instead starts blasting, at full volume, the theme from Team America World Police. I managed to silence it halfway through the first verse, but that was bad enough.

I'm having trouble with the GPS on my phone. Its an HTC Hero, 2.1 on orange. I've read up and plenty of people seem to have trouble that is fixed by a soft reset, but this doesn't help me. I've tried turning off wifi and enabling gps and mobile network and then restarting the phone but the gps still can't get a fix on any satellites. It searches and I get the gps icon on the top right of the screen but it just flashes constantly and doesn't connect.

I've tried to get apps2sd working on my phone. In fact, I flashed my rom all over again to get it working, as I couldn't be bothered to manually uninstall everything on my phone.
I flashed the MoDaCo r5 rom (the most recent on, based on the 2.1 GSM build). I then went into the recovery menu. created the ext2 partition and upgraded it to an ext3 partiton, as per the instructions.
I've installed a load of applications, I see the phone memory has gone down to a fraction over 40mb remaining. So, I reboot the phone (as I'm aware that the apps transfer over to the memory card during the reboot), and when I turn it back on, the internal memory remains at a fraction over 40mb.

I have has my hero from TELUS for about a week now and I would have to say that its a great phone if it weren't for some of the bugs the worst of which is the lack of working notifications!
I have tried everything to get the ring warning, the Led at the top and the flashing track ball to work but to mo avail.
They work intermittently at best. Has anyone else has similar issues with notifications? Has anyone hears if this will be fixed in future updates?

1) I cannot get some pages to close after viewing them on the browser. After clicking the X in the top right corner of the page the phone shows the message "stopping" but the page remains on the screen. Only way I can get the page off the screen is to reboot the phone.
2) I have the default screen on the home page. The two "white pages" show the time incorrectly; one hour ahead of actual time.

As the title says really, I cannot get my Hero to vibrate when I get a text message. In Messages > Settings > Vibrate, the option is ticked but even if I untick / restart / retick it still doesn't work. I've also tried pressing the volume button down to vibrate mode and back again but that makes no difference.I've even tried working with Handcent and yet I still cannot get the vibrate working. Everything else works such as the status bar notification but that's it.The vibrate part is definitely working for phone calls and other apps so I don't think that it's a hardware problem. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the latest official UK Orange ROM.

I just got my Hero on monday and my yahoo email acct. was working perfect, but this morning when I tried to refresh my email it says "Login Failed". I deleted the acct to try and do it all over again only now it's not verifying my username/password or it says can not connect to server. My internet on the phone is working and my wifi is working, but not the email.

I've setup email on my hero in the mail app. It works fine for a couple of days and then suddenly it just stops working. I've tried it with a yahoo account and a gmail account in the mail app and both do the same thing. Using the gmail account I have set it up so its using exchange server. It works fine for a couple of days, it pushes email to my hero fine but then after a couple of days it will stop working. Even if i click the refresh icon it wont retrieve my email. I have to delete the account and set it up again to get it working again.Why is this happening? Obviously the settings are correct otherwise it wouldn't work for the first couple of days and then stop. Help really appreciated as this is the only issue i am having with the phone now.

Since the Google Voice app update a few weeks ago, I notice that when placing calls, either the wrong number is called OR it doesn't show the proper caller ID (picture or name). Is anyone else experiencing this issue as well?

For some reason the browser on my G2 Touch has stopped working with wifi. Its works fine over the air just not when wifi is connected. Everything else works fine with wifi, email, ebuddy etc just not the browser.

I've just upgraded to 2.1 with VillainRom. The included updater doesn't seem to work. Like the experimental batter fix update. I check for updates, choose the batter update, hit apply and it boots into recovery, does something for 10 seconds and restarts. After checking for updates again, it reappears. Has it installed right?

Ive downloaded the 1st part of the download on thursday, but still haven't received the prompt for the 2nd part. Ive pressed the check for updates button in the setting a few time and nothing, ive put the date a couple months forward aswell as a year forward, and again nothing, ive also pressed the update button will the date put forward, and that didnt work either.
