HTC Hero :: Villain 5.3 Live Wallpaper Not Working?
May 1, 2010all the normal wallpapers work as do my own photos but i cannot get live ones to work, ive upgraded to 5.4 they didnt work on there either(nor did friend stream) and now ive gone back to 5.3 as i prefered it.(and friend stream does!

Jul 8, 2010i installed this rom earlier and started of loving it and then messenger force closed and again and again so i then ended all programs using auto killer and went back in to messanger and it worked for long enough to send a txt and then failed again. the application messages(process com.android.mms) has stoped working unexpectedly.please try again

Aug 30, 2010after nearly a month of trying to get it, i finally got it and have been using it for about a week , i have overclocked / underclocked and cant notice any speed difference i have it set at 294/701, is there anything else thats will get some kinda improvement out of this because as far as i can tell i have not notiiced no difference between this and 3's stock ROM Prt from the phone takes longer to boot and what features should i be using to get its full worth

Jul 20, 2010I followed the guide to the letter (gold carded) and received the Network locked screen after installing the HTC ROM ending 405.5 and receiving the updates for 2.1. By the way my Hero is Orange branded with Orange SIM and the product number is 99HHM022-00. Apart from waiting for Orange to release the update, whats my options? Read through numerous threads, but I'm confused whether an unlock code would work or whether its just better to bite the bullet and go for a Villain ROM that allows apps to install to SD cards. IF I was to go for a Villian ROM would that contain a compatible radio for my Orange phone, and would the Villain ROM work on my Orange branded Hero by just following their guide? I dont really want to have to wipe my phone again if its not going to work, so was just asking you guys for advice?

Aug 16, 2010So apart from being a great rom (scored 4.75 on linkpack) this ROM has some really nasty issues that i can't stand them. I'm just starting this thread to make sure is not just me. If it's me, I will reflash. But if you guys have the same issues, we should try to add bugs we found, and then make a shout to the villain team.
- when the screen timeout is set at 15 and the screen goes black, imediatelly, click on home. You will make the phone alive without the lockscreen.
- when in navigator (loading your location please wait) and the screen goes idle, and you go back, the navigator is going in the background...................
HTC Hero :: Villain 5.2 ROM And Apps2SD
Apr 16, 2010I'm relatively new to the rooting lark but I've managed to get Villain 5.2 up and running. However I can't seem to get Apps2SD working with it. I've partitioned the SD card and changed Ext2 to Ext3, but when I run Apps2SD it tells me there's a problem and I should check out the tutorial (which links to a deleted thread)...
Anyone used Villain 5.2 with Apps2SD who can help?
HTC Hero :: Villain's Slide ROM 1.0.1?
Apr 28, 2010I have to say, it is the fastest most responsive ROM I have tried yet! Thought I'd share my thoughts. It's a GSM based ROM, so, view/hide/import contacts from sim is there. APN's work easily. It has only 5 home screens, but I don't use all 7 on Sense UI roms. (EDIT) Just found a setting to expand to 7 homescreens. Maximum MMS size is only 300K, as opposed to 600K. Thought that was odd. Would be cool if he could change that. The themes are pretty cool, nothing too ridiculously awesome, but hey, it's cool lol. Seems to like to hang when messing with themes though, but it's only beta so far.
Only thing I don't really like so far, are all the "t-mobile'ized" icons.. (a lot of icons have pink in them, like tmobile's logo lol). And also, all icons have bubbles around them... not a big deal in the app drawer but just not a huge fan of bubbles all over my homescreen
HTC Hero :: MoDaCo Or Villain ROM?
May 7, 2010What would people's favorite ROM be? MoDaCo or Villain? I recently rooted my HTC Hero and installed Villain 5.4 on it. However, I've noticed the battery drains quicker than previous Android 1.5 that was on it. I've changed to "GSM only" in phone settings (*#*#INFO#*#*) and also have changed some settings with regard to display timeout etc etc.

Jun 11, 2010i am currently using sense 2.2 rom with a 16gb microsdhc card. i tried to flash the new villain 10.1 rom yesterday but afterwards it just kept looping the white htc "quietly brilliant" page. i left this going on for an hour to see if it just needed some time to install. i think the reason may be because i just used the same partitioned microsdhc card. it has already been set up for a2sd and worked perfectly with my sense 2.2 rom. do i need to reformat the card and repartition it again? i am using Amon Ra recovery 1.6.2 to flash my roms. i have flashed the latest radio update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06OU_6.35.15.01-signed.

Mar 6, 2010If I make a Nandroid+EXT and a BART backup, wipe and then install Villain (or any other 2.1 ROM) is it completely roll backable by wiping and restoring either the Nandroid+EXT or the BART? The wipe affects nothing? Also, if I decide I like it, can I perform an EXT restore only and maintain my App2SD?

Apr 27, 2010Don't know if it's just me, but I do not seem to be able to turn off the touch/haptic feedback for the keyboard since flashing this system. Using the old 'turn it off' option has no effect. Has anyone else had this happen? I was just thinking it might speed the keyboard up a little if I could turn it off (and may help save a tiny bit of battery too).

When I wrote "klokken" (at) it suggested klokkesl t" (time)
It changes simple every day words into complicated - rarely used words.

HTC Hero :: IMAP E-mail Not Working On New Hero
Aug 29, 2009just got my new Hero yesterday and spent last night setting it up.I pull e-mail from my home e-mail server (an Excito Bubba) via IMAP, and had settings that worked flawlessly with my old HTC Tyntyn I entered these these into the Hero and although the device 'accepted' them it's not downloading any e-mail.I've searched through all the settings including how many and how frequently to download e-mail and all seems ok.It's really frustrating as it should be so simple.I've also tried a simple pop3 account that I have with lineone and no joy in setting that one up either.I called Orange tech support but they couldn't help either and I don't really want to return the phone.I have also tried a factory reset a few times and re-entered the settings via the wizard and manually but still no joy.

May 22, 2010I don't know if this issue is linked to rooting, but it has occurred since I rooted. As of this morning, it seems that none of my apps that would usually use GPS are using it (Aloqa, Trapster, GPS Speed, and of course Google Maps). Over the course of the morning I've been rolling back on android backups, even as far as going back to the stock ROM, where I definitely know it was working before. I've also tried rebooting with GPS set on or off, reflashing Roms, but to no avail. (I'm basing this on the lack of a GPS symbol in the notifications bar when the apps are running. Im getting this error starting sync. "This Apllication has Failed to start because the application confirguration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Using USB and mount is working. On my home pc im using Win7 and there is no problem. I need it to work to sync, calendar with Lotus Notes, triede companionlink, but it cost.
