View 9 RepliesI flashed the froyd villain 1.1 on my Hero yesterday and somehow, I am not finding any speed improvements. Not even when I am browsing. So just wondering if the JIT is enabled on my phone. Is there a way to check it or does this ROM have JIT included?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo apart from being a great rom (scored 4.75 on linkpack) this ROM has some really nasty issues that i can't stand them. I'm just starting this thread to make sure is not just me. If it's me, I will reflash. But if you guys have the same issues, we should try to add bugs we found, and then make a shout to the villain team.
- when the screen timeout is set at 15 and the screen goes black, imediatelly, click on home. You will make the phone alive without the lockscreen.
- when in navigator (loading your location please wait) and the screen goes idle, and you go back, the navigator is going in the background...................
If anyone can work out why these have stopped working I will pay $15.00 through paypal as a reward, I have searched the internet for days and days and still have no information, apart from other people have the same problem. Also I have reset my phone, etc., still no good.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to go update mine and my girl's ROMs yesterday. Did mine with Tazz's new 2.0, and I'm loving it. I went to do hers as well and when I get into the main menu the trackball doesn't scroll up or down. It works fine when the phone is in operating mode. She is running CELBfroyo. Any suggestions? I cannot scroll around to do a wipe and flash a new rom...
View 37 Replies View RelatedI went to flash a zip in recovery tonight, (specifically the stock keyboard zip for xtrrom 4.6, but that's beside the point) booted into recovery successfully, and I noticed my trackball isn't working at all! It would let me select reboot now, but thats it. Trackball is working fine once it reboots into normal mode, but it is completely useless in Recovery. Is it permanently like this or is it just a minor glitch I can fix with a few things.
View 15 Replies View RelatedAnybody else having this problem in 2.2? I'm not sure if it ever worked or whether it stopped working since I did the update last night. I tried changing the pulse notification light setting and doing a reboot bit no luck. I googled the problem and a few other people have reported the same problem but no solutions.
I've only tested email notifications and app updates.
Today i notice that my trackball can't scroll left anymore. it can scroll all other directions. I'm currently running 2.1v2. i was wondering if i go in to the store and just complain about my trackball maybe i could get a replacement? i mean how thoroughly do they check the phone? If i could get a replacement with 1.5 that would be nice. i could root. opinions..?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a new HTC Hero (running new firmware) and all is fine except for one query regarding the trackball sensitivity.Basically it seems way-too sensitive for me, I find that the slightest touch moves it. For example it's very easy to over-shoot scrolling down a web page with multiple links and select the wrong one.I don't know if this is a feature or a fault since I have no other Hero to compare it with. (May be I have fat fingers!)Also I few (rare) times either the trackball has "moved itself" or something else weird has happend because I've seen the centre homescreen move on its own to the right... Which again makes me wonder whether there an issue with the trackball.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI see that there is a led notification and i was wondering if there is a trackball notification for the HTC Hero? Without Rooting the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there an app or any way to keep the trackball flashing indefinitely when a message is received?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo things I think my Hero could do without7 Home Screens - I really don't need all that real estate on my phone. I think 3 or maybe 5 at the most would have been plenty. I feel compelled to fill each screen with all the really cool widgets but I presume this will have some performance cost on my phone. I know I could use a different Home app, but I'm trying to use Stock applications wherever possible to reduce app clutter.Trackball - I hardly ever use it, apart from maybe some precision clicking on links in the browser. Does anybody else use the trackball extensively.Maybe I'm missing a trick here.
I just sent an email and without thinking about it used the Trackball to navigate the cursor around my message... Looks like the Trackball might actually be quite useful after all.
My trackball is getting dirty and its noticeable when the light is on. Is there any way I can turn off the light permanently? Maybe an app? Anything?
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing the latest CM6 RC1 stable release. Whenever i get a notification my track ball flashes, and wont stop flashing after i check the notification, until i put the phone to sleep. I am using handcent, and in the notification settings i cant access the trackball flashing setting, its dark and unable to be clicked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question about handcent sms application. Whenever I get sms via standard message program, my trackball lights up. However, when I'm using handcent sms notification, it would not light up. I have turned the trackball light on in the settings, but it does not work. Does anyone else have this problem?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had my hero for several weeks now, and i've barely used the trackball at all; once or twice for fine tuning the cursor position (functionality that could easily be replicated by a couple of cursor softkeys) and when using the camera (which is only because they *make* you use the trackball).
I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see android phones released in the near future without the trackball.
I wouldn't mind, but i searched the app store and i couldn't find a marble madness clone anywhere! Does anyone use the thing on a regular basis or find it indispensable in any other way? Any good apps or games that make use of it?
While I'm at it - i dont think i've EVER pressed the call button (furthest one on the left), always use the touchscreen instead. I just pressed it now for the first time to see what it would do, and accidentally dialed somebody, they just called me back to see what i wanted, because all they could hear was the clacking of keys as i typed this post.
Is there anyway to get a glowing trackball for notifications like the N1?? That would be kinda cool.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwell the title says it all, i would like to remove my trackball so i can clean it, but cannot figure out how to, is it possible?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when i get a text the trackball lights up, but not when i get an email, where are the settings for this? can it be turned on/off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want my hero to do something. Can the trackball light up or anything with notifications?
Can I change the LED colors? the pattern? Something!? I know that i can flip it over to silence it.
I just got my Hero a few days ago, previously I had an Instinct. So far I love the Hero, but one of my few complaints about it is having to take pictures by pressing the trackball. The trackball just feels odd to press and most of the time I have to press it multiple times for it to take a photo. Anyone have any solutions to this? I doubt there is a way to change this in the settings, but is there an app or something that uses a more convenient button for photos?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIf it is possible to change the trackball light colour, i read about a guy who swears he had blue the first time he turned his hero on, and after resetting it went back to white,im sure its only white we will be able to achieve.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my new HTC Hero and I'm still getting to know it at the moment... However I do have a little frustration with it. The trackball will light up and everything when I get a missed call or email or sms etc. and it will keep it up only for some 10 minutes. Any idea how or if it can be set up to light up indefinitely (that is, until i clear the notifications)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a sprint hero yesterday, with google branding. Trackball has no audible click. Is it supposed to?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI think I've read somewhere that when you have a notification one of the leds at the earpiece flashes-is this correct? On my new hero the trackball flashes but the LED doesn't is this a fault?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm planning on upgrading to the Epic, but I LOVE the trackball on my Hero, any ex-Hero users want to let me know how it is without a trackball? I really like the trackball on the Hero and feel I'd miss the functionality and ease of it a lot...
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the trackball of my Hero has a tendency to keep scrolling to the right all by itself, i wonder if it is possible to deactivate the trackball.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was curious to know if there was a way to change the color of the trackball?
View 7 Replies View RelatedDownloaded from the market an app called Covedesign Dev. You can turn the track ball led on and off... different from the bottons on and off... Seems cool and I like that someone was able to do this... now we just need someone to integrate that into notification options...
