For some reason the browser on my G2 Touch has stopped working with wifi. Its works fine over the air just not when wifi is connected. Everything else works fine with wifi, email, ebuddy etc just not the browser.

Since a few days my browser doesn't work with Wifi.
When wifi is on all the other apps and programs using internet work, so gmail works youtube app works and so on.
But not the standard htc browser it just hangs and after a minute or so it says cannot connect. I also tried the steel browser but same problem.
When i use 3g everything works.
My Hero's Browser not working, And i have Internet Service Activated In my Warid Connection, Well Facebook Application , Msn Talk Application, Yahoo Application Working Fine........
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new in Hero. Since some day, after I turn off the mobile network, and switch on the WiFi, I could use mail box, ebuddy, everything, except Browser. But I switch on the mobile network + WiFi at the same time, its work fine for everything included Browser. But after restart my HERO, I can switch on the WiFi without switch on the mobile network and no problem at all, but after using mobile network, problem is coming to me again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
I just bought a Telus HTC Hero, which the seller had unlocked. I intend to use this phone with another carrier, Bell. After spending a few hours at Bell customer service, they finally managed to get the 3G data working (for weather, email etc.). However, the browser does not work, neither does the Market.
What seems to be causing the problem is that this phone is MASSIVELY tweaked (appears massive to me probably because I'm not that big on tweaking and don't know about the Android OS in general) by the previous owner who only had it for a few days. The Bell customer service person told me that they switched over a couple of other HTC devices from Telus that were NOT tweaked and the data works perfectly.
All I want is for the phone to be in original factory settings, with original ROMs, firmwares, software, etc. etc. Just looking at the whole bunch of different files that this guy had on the 2GB "gold" memory card made my head spin. He attempted to explain to me with all the "updates" and fancy "roms" and "roots" and crap that I didn't understand nor do I want to spend the time to learn.
I understand that a lot of people buy android phones because they love tweaking but I am not really into all that... I just wanted the phone for the form factor and the functionality and I don't want to worry about optimizing and whatnot. So my question is: is there any way to get the phone back to the most original possible software condition? I just want it "clean." Can I go ahead and wipe everything that is on the 2 GB card? What do I do? I performed a hard reset and it took me to some weird startup screen and I chose the first option which is like reboot now (there were also a bunch of other options including apply update.zip or something)... it still gave me the same MoDaCo build.
I can provide any information but I would really appreciate any help in restoring my seemingly very tweaked phone to original, factory settings, so it could be like any other phone being sold by Telus other than the fact that it is unlocked.
Woke up this morning and my wifi has stopped working, I'm on orange, was on 1.5 this morning, day before yesterday I tried getting the 2.1 update by debranding, installing generic 1.5 and getting the ota updates, got to 2.1 but then the phone decided not to let me use my orange sim card in it, sim network lock. Went back to orange 1.5. Wifi worked yesterday, then this morning stopped working. Also decided to root this evening now on villainrom 12.0.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI decided to try the WiFi hotspot available through 2.2. GREAT! Actually worked quite a bit better than I thought it would. Only trouble is, ... now I'm back at home, it fails to connect to the home network.
+ Restarting phone
+ Re-entering password
+ Forgetting network + refinding
WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now
On my Incredible I've noticed that my browser will crash when I am hooked up to wifi and I go to the Google Homepage. I was able to change my homepage to Yahoo but I am concerned this might do it with other sites. Anyone else have this problem?

There were 3 web sites listed, but the one that struck me was the one about Android Central.
I don't have a clue how I got the window to open, or even why it did, but the entry for AC said WiFi access to this site was blocked.
Sure enough, I cannot access AC through Forum Runner, but I can get here with Tapatalk 2.I also cannot access it with a browser. Either Chrome or the stock one.
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

Starting from few days ago, I find that my browser (Both the build in "Browser" and "Dolphin HD") is not working.
When I open these Apps, it shows the App screen. Then I saw it trying to load the website, after a while (1 - 2 seconds), the Apps just terminated and back to the phone's main screen.
If I turn off WIFI and 3G (means makes no connection to outside), both browser Apps can show a "website not available" page without terminate themselves automatically. But then if I keep the browser screen and activate the WIFI/3G again, and try to type a URL and go, the browser terminate again......
I have a droid incredible and got the OTA update last night. After the update I could not use my web browser. It will load the page almost to the end and then just go back to my home screen. Also the flash does not appear to be working anymore either I only see green arrows now. I Manually installed flash 10.1 a few weeks before the OTA update.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy phone just got the 2.2 OTA update early this morning and since I've updated, my browser doesn't fully work anymore.
It opens fine, but whenever I try to tap an address in, it automatically closes. Sometimes a quick message flashes up, but I can't really even see it because it just comes and goes so fast.
Dolphin Browser has the same problem, so it's just not the stock browser that is having this problem.
When I open the browser, it says "Here are some suggestions:
1. Check to make sure your device has a signal and data connection.
2. Reload this web page later.
3. View a cached copy of the web page from Google."
I can send and recieve texts and calls, but I can't get on the Market or check my email or use apps that need the internet. My "3G" sign is not at the top by my bars.

I also have my itouch with me and after it connects with hotel server, a sign-on screen comes up and I enter the server password.
Can't get the Captivate to supply a sign-on screen. Is there some other way to enter the server password that was supplied to me?

I use it primarily for a forum such as this and it freezes up all the time. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and nothing seems to help. Not sure if I should go with another browser but I downloaded the dolphin one and that did the same thing. Anyone have a clue? Im not pc smart so please talk "dumb" to me if you have any clues!

I bought this phone mainly for having good and comfortable access to the internet. So, all websites are working good on default browser, except one - pinnaclesports.com. When I try to enter there, it says error:
The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
And I have only 1 option to choose - Force close.
The same happens on Dolphin. Opera is working good with pinnaclesports website, but to be honest I don't like Opera, I definetely prefer default browser.
I've been trying almost everything. I did wipe and even changed interface from standard to Sense UI (which IMO is worse than normal interface) and I still get the same error.
