I have dvd catalyst to rip dvds. I've tried different settings to optimize output over the hdmi to my high def tv at least enough to make it 720p. No matter what i do i cant seem to get it right. Tried 1080-720 and 1280-720 resolutions. But its always 480p...

Does anyone have an issue outputting You Tube full screen over 720p? When watching HD videos over HDMI the video has black bars over all sides. When watching videos over 420p, it fills the screen fine, but the quality isn't the same. I've tried on an Insignia and Samsung.

Why does the video save as a .3gp format even though I selected mp4 and 720p in settings? Did I do something wrong? Is it really 720p? Did not know that 3gp had the ability to do HD video.

Also it doesn't play full screen. So from searching thru the forums here, i have found that I need to have the videos in mp4 format and Any Video Converter seems to be the way to do it. Two examples are the Simpsons trailer and the Fantastic Four trailer at H.264 Demo Clips | H264info.com I get no error, and I have tried the Android media player and several others (which are no doubt using the same API's underneath). Is it expected that video will not play for these files? Obviously the phone's screen would not be able to play them in full detail but I didn't expect that it could not play them at all. What is the point of having 720p resolution over HDMI when the phone can't play videos at that resolution? Or is it that it supports some particular type of H.264 and these videos aren't supported? Or is it actually trying to output directly through HDMI and I see nothing since I don't have it hooked up? UPDATE: I trans coded these sample trailers using Handbrake, and even when I end up with a LARGER file size they do play at 720p. But if I use the high quality preset, they do not work even at a low butyrate at 720p. So it's something about the "advanced options" that determines whether the EVO can play it or not.

No jumping and clear, in sync sound. 720p resolution so the HDMI out should work once the cables are available. h.264 at Level 3.1, 3 reference frames and baseline profile. 1280 x 720 AAC stereo audio at 44100Hz, 128kbps Bit rate does not seem to be all that important as long as the video file is less than 2GB.Muxed to an mp4 container in IMSA standard format and optimized for streaming.

That program doesn't recognize the .3gp format that the video files are in when I take them off the phone. So, I convert them to .avi. Is there a program that will ensure that the 720p quality is maintained through the conversion to .avi, or is there another format I should be converting them into? I can't remember the program I use now, but it doesn't look like it is staying in 720p quality. After making the complete video on windows movie maker I get an option to export the video in 720p, but if the input video is not 720p, the final output cannot be 720p right?

In short I am running Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense and the camcorder is not working. Everything else, GPS, Flash, wireless tether, camera work perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are the steps I took since I first took the plunge into root.
Wiped cache did factory reset
Rooted phone with unrevoked
Installed Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense to verify I liked the build.
Used Unrevoked forever to siwtch S - OFF
verified S - OFF
Flashed radio to 2.15.00.07.28
Verified that SDcard is/was formatted with FAT32
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
Wiped phone
reverted back to 1.00 radio
re-installed skyraider
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
upgraded kernel to 2.6.32.15-king-HAVS-Oc-Uverik@Ubuntu #3

My highest bitrate for 720p video on my class 6 card is 6Mbps.
Class 2 = 2MBps write = 16Mbps
So no need to get a class 6 card, they are not worth double the price of a class 2.
