I've read it's compression, what settings are our EVO set at and how do you find out the compression rate of the other phones? Is this something that software or a root hack can alter?

Is the Incredible's camera capable of 720p video recording? Do you think it will ever be released in an update? Is it even possible to enable this feature in an update? Any ideas are welcome.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recorded some videos yesterday, assuming it would record in 720p by default. However when uploading to YouTube, it would only allow up to 480, not giving the option of 720p playback.
Well today, I noticed different resolutions. Is 1280x720 the 720p resolution? If so, then I may have figured it out myself.

The I phone has better games i.e. Iron-man, you can easily download movies to it through I tunes, it has the big hitters in the comic industry DC and Marvel the list just goes on and on. Is it that the Droids technology is just inferior to the I phones?
View 34 Replies View RelatedBGR has a video comparison up. The Droid X has much better contrast both indoor and outdoor. The iphone has horrible bloom in highlights outdoors Which crushes all detail. I would even go as far to say that the iPhone video is really bad. Not surpisingly, he declares iPhone the winner because it is 30fps and not 24fps. Personally I couldn't see the difference between the two speeds.

This is not the common iMessage issue that was plaguing me when I made the switch from Apple to Android. This is specifically affecting one iphone user. When I send her a text individually it is not a problem. The other iPhone users don't have a problem receiving or sending to me.

As I am at work for 12 hours at a time it would be very handy to have the phone connected to the laptop so I can type txts on the laptop whilst I am working rather than having to divert my attention and look at the phone.

I have a Nokia ck-7w handsfree kit in my car, i can pair my desire with it and all seems ok until i try to make or receive a call. The Nokia unit mutes the radio but I can hear no sound at all, no ring tone or dial tones on outgoing calls and no voice on incoming calls.

Any app is used? some of the high end devices should have a fm transmitter too while they have receivers.
When using 2.2 on the HTC Desire, select ISO 800 in the photo settings, rather than auto, then switch camera to video as normal. This will considerably reduce the flickering / stuttering during playback when recording at 720p.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have tried to play several H.264 720p video samples on my EVO, and I get sound but no video. Two examples are the Simpsons trailer and the Fantastic Four trailer at H.264 Demo Clips | H264info.com I get no error, and I have tried the Android media player and several others (which are no doubt using the same API's underneath). Is it expected that video will not play for these files? Obviously the phone's screen would not be able to play them in full detail but I didn't expect that it could not play them at all. What is the point of having 720p resolution over HDMI when the phone can't play videos at that resolution? Or is it that it supports some particular type of H.264 and these videos aren't supported? Or is it actually trying to output directly through HDMI and I see nothing since I don't have it hooked up? UPDATE: I trans coded these sample trailers using Handbrake, and even when I end up with a LARGER file size they do play at 720p. But if I use the high quality preset, they do not work even at a low butyrate at 720p. So it's something about the "advanced options" that determines whether the EVO can play it or not.

I need to fetch Android ROM. I have chosen and downloaded v2.1 via SDK. - All of these files should be renamed to rofs3 and uda files according to Nokia firmware file names. - Correct bootloader is needed to make it running (for example OpeniBoot) - Drivers have to be extracted and edited for Android. The most important thing of all is display because its resolution is completely different than any seen Android phone. - Hardware shouldn't be a problem, it passed minimum requirements. I have dvd catalyst to rip dvds. I've tried different settings to optimize output over the hdmi to my high def tv at least enough to make it 720p. No matter what i do i cant seem to get it right. Tried 1080-720 and 1280-720 resolutions. But its always 480p...
