View 13 RepliesJust started playing around with the camcorder app today. Which is a better file format to get the best quality the camcorder app is currently capable of? Are there pluses and minuses to one or the other. This might be a separate issue, but when I tried playing .mpeg4 videos back on Windows Media Player I did not have any sound, I have not tried h.263?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm very confused on how this is all working. Does the incredible have 720p video recording, is an update going to come out with it, or what?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLet me start off by saying I've been searching Google at home/work/while sleeping trying to find answers to my problem and haven't come up with anything that worked for me. In short I am running Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense and the camcorder is not working. Everything else, GPS, Flash, wireless tether, camera work perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are the steps I took since I first took the plunge into root.
Wiped cache did factory reset
Rooted phone with unrevoked
Installed Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense to verify I liked the build.
Used Unrevoked forever to siwtch S - OFF
verified S - OFF
Flashed radio to 2.15.00.07.28
Verified that SDcard is/was formatted with FAT32
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
Wiped phone
reverted back to 1.00 radio
re-installed skyraider
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
upgraded kernel to 2.6.32.15-king-HAVS-Oc-Uverik@Ubuntu #3
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
Here is my current setup
Security: S - OFF

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you compare a Tattoo (2.8" 240x320) with a Hero (3.2" 320x480) and a Desire/Evo 4G (3.7"/4.3" 480x800), on all of these Sense UI devies you will see a 4x4 icon grid. Looking at screenshots I can see they could definitely fit 6x4 (6 being vertically) in, if not, at least a 5x4 icon grid. 4x4 on a 4.3" screen makes the icons too spread apart! Why haven't HTC made their home screens with 6x4 icon grids? Also, a 320x480 can fit nicely on a 3.2" screen, and if you multiply 320 by 1.5 and 480 by 1.5 you get the 480x800 resolution that is on the Desire on a screen 0.5" larger. So if you go 0.5" larger than that (or 0.6" larger tbe) and multiply 480 by 1.5 and 800 by 1.5, you could easily get a 4.3" screen that nicely produces 720x1200. Why haven't they used this resolution?

looking for a mpeg4/flash mobile plugin so I can watch flowplayer videos on my HTC incredible
Thanks in advance.
I have two questions regarding video recording on the Droid X.
1. What options are there for encoding? On my HTC Hero I can encode in MPEG4 or H.263. What about the Droid X?
2. My friend sent me a video from her Droid X, but I can't hear anything as far as audio in a normal setting. The only way I can pick up anything she's saying is if I max out the Media volume and hold the speaker directly up to my ear. Is there something she's doing wrong when she's recording the video? This has happened twice now.
When using 2.2 on the HTC Desire, select ISO 800 in the photo settings, rather than auto, then switch camera to video as normal. This will considerably reduce the flickering / stuttering during playback when recording at 720p.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs the HTC Evo 4Gs are slowly making their way into the hands of people (after the Google I/O event), it seems that 720p videos are making their way onto Youtube. I've collected a handful so that people could see what was representative of the Evo's video. I've noted whether they are indoors or outdoors since the amount of light can have a significant impact on the quality of the video.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have tried to play several H.264 720p video samples on my EVO, and I get sound but no video. Two examples are the Simpsons trailer and the Fantastic Four trailer at H.264 Demo Clips | H264info.com I get no error, and I have tried the Android media player and several others (which are no doubt using the same API's underneath). Is it expected that video will not play for these files? Obviously the phone's screen would not be able to play them in full detail but I didn't expect that it could not play them at all. What is the point of having 720p resolution over HDMI when the phone can't play videos at that resolution? Or is it that it supports some particular type of H.264 and these videos aren't supported? Or is it actually trying to output directly through HDMI and I see nothing since I don't have it hooked up? UPDATE: I trans coded these sample trailers using Handbrake, and even when I end up with a LARGER file size they do play at 720p. But if I use the high quality preset, they do not work even at a low butyrate at 720p. So it's something about the "advanced options" that determines whether the EVO can play it or not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEncoding a video to the following specs and loading it on the EVO plays with the included video player perfectly. No jumping and clear, in sync sound. 720p resolution so the HDMI out should work once the cables are available. h.264 at Level 3.1, 3 reference frames and baseline profile. 1280 x 720 AAC stereo audio at 44100Hz, 128kbps Bit rate does not seem to be all that important as long as the video file is less than 2GB.Muxed to an mp4 container in IMSA standard format and optimized for streaming.

View 49 Replies View RelatedHello all. I like to cut and splice my video files together to make one movie. I usually do this with Windows movie maker. That program doesn't recognize the .3gp format that the video files are in when I take them off the phone. So, I convert them to .avi. Is there a program that will ensure that the 720p quality is maintained through the conversion to .avi, or is there another format I should be converting them into? I can't remember the program I use now, but it doesn't look like it is staying in 720p quality. After making the complete video on windows movie maker I get an option to export the video in 720p, but if the input video is not 720p, the final output cannot be 720p right?
