View 5 RepliesI have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my desire on Orange, anyway its overheating so have been told to send it back, only issue is I debranded it I just put official FroYo on it, Would I get away with it? Its not going direct to Orange but the online retailer I got it off, could I just act stupid or something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedTell me please what is the latest firmware? Who ever put it? Bugs are there? When will the official firmware? Can I put it on the root phone? Please share information.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any difference because i noticed that there are a couple bugs(swype is a little erradic, missing apps). So is there a difference and also will i be able to update to the official froyo if already on the leaked version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm new to HTC Desire/Android, and debranding and altering my phones setup. A complete novice! I have unlocked my HTC desire from orange using a code from mobileunlocked.co.uk cost me 22.99 I have upgraded to 2.2 fro yo and am running software number 2.17.61.2 browser 3.1 I'd now like to debrand the phone but do not want to root as i am not into customising my phone that much. I do however want to rid it of the orange start up and the orange widgets and understand enough to know that i don't need/ want the orange excess stuff. I don't want to have to reboot and reflash my phone or find that wifi doesn't work with a custom Rom that might go wrong.
View 20 Replies View RelatedAfter the 2.2 update, my battery has been starting to be extremely bad. I recharged it yesterday until it was 100% charged. Now, 18 hours later, the battery is at 15%.
I only used my HTC Desire to do this:
1. Listening to offline songs through Wimp, a Spotify-clone, for about an hour.
2. Texting 3-4 sms.
3. Doing 1 call.
4. Having it on while I was asleep.
My battery was usually lasting 3-4 days with this kind of use, but now it's so bad.
Here are the running apps (if that is of anyones interest):
com.fd.httpd - 2.9MB
net.rgruet.android.g3watchdog - 2.9MB
com.metago.astro - 2.8MB
com.aspiro.wamp - 10MB
com.lookout - 4.4MB
com.htc.bgp - 12MB
com.google.process.gapps - 7.6MB
com.facebook.katana - 14MB
com.swype.android.inputmethod - 15MB
Does anyone suffer from something similar?
I have froyo running but I have had to change keyboard back to stock. I had the keyboard with the mike key on 2.1 but this kb does not seem to function on froyo. How do I now speak texts and emails a function I loved before.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust posted on XDA by designgears : I897ucjh7 - not froyo, - xda-developers. Looks like it's the final test firmware before the official release. Word from those that have flashed is that they are getting a GPS lock, Indoors. Also, it Looks like updates to the phone will be done with Kies, not OTA. Also has been said that it's pretty quick and the lag issue has been addressed.
View 49 Replies View RelatedWhen using 2.2 on the HTC Desire, select ISO 800 in the photo settings, rather than auto, then switch camera to video as normal. This will considerably reduce the flickering / stuttering during playback when recording at 720p.
View 3 Replies View Relatedsorry to go on about the video camera but, any one out there know whats best for 720p? h.264 or mpeg4? or is it a case of i should definitely be using one or the other?

Apparantly the 2.1 update has reduced the graphics capabilities of the Droid, and therefore I'm assuming the Milestone too. Unfortunately, I never ran the lag test before I updated to 2.1 so I can't say whether my phone is better or worse off in the graphics department. Currently running official 2.1, my average fps sits at about 37. Can anyone still running 2.0.1 download this app , run it, and post their results here? I'd be interested to know whether the reports on the Droid's graphics are the same as on our Milestones. And of course we then need to make Motorola aware!
View 10 Replies View RelatedFully charged, never registered/activated, new, 8GB card in place, fingerprints wiped off. Ready... you'd think. I press the right hand power button, and see "Airplane Mode is on" and the time. Battery indicates full, time is correct. If I push the MENU button, I feel the buzz and the screen goes black with htc in the middle. Pushing the power button goes DARK, then back to Airplane Mode. All four touch points (Home, menu, back, and search) produce the buzz but do nothing. I haven't found the RESET button, and it's not in the Index. What basic, simple thing have I missed? Unfortunately, there's no 10 year old kid around to show me how to operate this #$!! thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used this to try to root. How to Root DROID X Running Official Android 2.2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog and well when I hook up my phone to my computer its telling me that it can install the driver. (Its never done this before when I had 2.1) the SDK program wont even do screen shots for me so thats the main reason I am trying to root. I know thats a dumb reason but still. I know this isn't much info but its all I got for you. I did run the root program and it said my phone is now rooted and no errors occurred. I know its not rooted cause the screen shot applications are not working on my phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've never modded/rooted my Droid X, right. I do the manual update Settings - About - Update or whatever and it updates. It supposedly finishes and after it reboots I get stuck @ the Motorola "M" screen indefinitely. After that it wouldn't start up @ all and wouldn't respond to anything. So now I'm attempting an SBF root. Is this the right thing to do?
View 13 Replies View RelatedAnyone know when the official Froyo update will be out for the DX?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK, some of us have the OTA update, and some of us got the update by downloading the update.zip (I downloaded the update from here.)
Froyo is nice however it is not clean. There is so much bloatware on this that i cant wait to get rooted again so i can get rid of all of it.
Has anyone done this yet? Can it be done yet?
We have been working on making a Android Application. The issue we are facing is the support across various Handsets, which actually are increasing by everyday. Our application deals with Android Calendar. Does anyone have idea about as to how we can span across the various handsets, is there a way where we can give types of handsets supported, or MARKET can handle it on its own?

I want to get the best out of my phone (speed and goodlooks) mostlu because im bored of the original touchwiz.
My HTC desire 600 is not playing 720p videos correctly. Also there is lagging in recording in low light conditions.
