i was reading some articles about improving battery. one tip was to go to the dialer and do *#*#4636#*#* and wait and then it will take u to a screen where u go to phone info and hit menu and change the network from gsm to cdma. i tried this and when i entered the numbers into the dialer it didnt do anything. the thread was from june so does this not work anymore?

I setup SIP calling through Sipdroid and Pbxes just fine. Uninstalled Sipdroid and was able to make SIP calls over 3G/WiFi using the Android Native Dialer. Suddenly my SIP calling does not work any more. I did not change any of the settings. When making calls over 3G/WiFi the call connects but immediately hangs up. The call log shows the call as outgoing but lasting "0 minutes, 0 seconds." The Sipdroid app works just fine but I don't want it running all the time.
UPDATE: I can make outgoing calls only if "Receive Incoming Calls" is checked. I would assume there is a way to make outgoing calls over SIP without having to accept them since I have GV forwarded to my cell number (yes I know it uses minutes but it saves on battery.)
I really miss the keyboard.Ive seen other ones but I want one as easy as the droix X keyboard but still has the microphone speech to text button

View 3 Replies View RelatedProbably a very simple fix here, but I can't figure it out. I deleted a few roms off of my sd card to make room for the new warm 2.2 release and went to flash it. For some reason, when I'm in the boot screen, I select recovery, but it doesn't boot into the actual recovery mode anymore, it goes to another white screen which I think is the fastboot screen.

But when I try to install an APK clicking on Install does not respond and no message appears. I rebooted more times, cleared all caches, etc. to no avail.
As written in the title, the time-out screen doesn't work anymore on my 4 days old htc magic.

2 months ago before it upgraded itselve to curent version i instaled latest navigon without problems and it work pretty well. Since ICS is upgraded navigon doesen't work anymore. I tryed to DLL latest version of Navigon ( 4.1.1 ) and it doesent wan't to work. I can install it but when i open it up i get an error that im not connected to an internet connection or im not loged in to google play. my WI-FI is on and it don't want to work.
I did the manual upgrade to 2.2 Froyo last night and 2 applications have stopped working
-1) Ringo Lite is totally gone and will not install at all manually.
-2) Open Home is installed but cannot seem to make it stick as the default "home" application. Everytime I hit the Home button on my N1 it goes back to the 2.2 (froyo) default home screen.
Since updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...

Cannot get wireless tether to work anymore. It gets superuser permissions, My laptop detects the network, it connects to it, but I cannot load any pages and nothing is being sent up and down except for 3-4 kb.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resets, etc. My root seems to be fine.
I flashed wrong ROM with my device with odin, and my device doesn't work any more.
It looks like a real brick. It just stay in black screen. No vibration, No sound and No animation!! What can I do for my device?
I am developing on Windows machine.I was working quite well until yesterday, when I saw the the update prompt and updated my ADT plugin. Today when I tried debugging my test project, I experienced either one the following cases:
1) Logcat stops forever on the message "sending wait chunk".
2) Logcat shows the following message, and test project fails:
3) Eclipse stops responding.
The above cases happens even when the test unit contains nothing.Also it just doesn't not work in debug. The test case runs successfully if it is not in debug mode (But there are still some glitches, like Logcat sometimes won't emit debug messages).
A) The data network access doesn't work anymore. B) The touch screen is not responsive freezes a lot.C) The text messaging freezes then sends out 20 of the same message.And I have done numerous battery breaks.

I am pretty efficient on my X not really used to the HTC sense (last HTC phone i had was the Eris). Any tips to help him get better battery life? I normally get a day and a half, as much as two days between charges. Where he has to keep a charger at work?

I am taking a trip in about two weeks to vegas and plan on using my phone heavily there for pictures and what not, so I wanted to pick up a spare battery to take with me. VZW online store is sold out of the standard D1 batteries currently but has D2 in stock and it shows the same stock part number. However the D2, according to the description uses 1420maH where as the D1 uses 1400maH. This is greek to me. I remember reading a post recently where the extended battery for the D2 was working well with the D1 and I was just curious if anyone knows if the same will apply for the standard battery.

Downloaded 2 dozen games and apps. Finally got low battery warning around 9:30 pm. so 11.5 hrs of use. but i was sweating the last hour while coming back from work. It'd be nice if seido sells some extended 1750 MaH battery.
I've read several threads and still am not 100% clear. At home and at work, I have FULL 3G service (still no 4G in my area). If I turn on my WiFi at both places, will it use less battery? Particularly at work when get 50-100 emails during the day?

I struggle to get through a day with quite a few power saving things on it but anyway, would this battery designed for the nexus one work for the desire? Seidio 3200 mAh Extended Battery for Google Nexus One on eBay (end time 08-Jul-10 17:05:29 BST) the only reason i'm so sceptical is because it would involve a new case and I'm not sure if a case designed for nexus one would fit the desire. it not, are there any other batteries or really small portable chargers for the desire?
View 5 Replies View Relatedi just bought the official extended battery for the Droid x off of the verizon online store. the battery worked fine for the first day i bought it and now it makes my phone randomly shut off when i am using it. i can use my phone for about 5 - 10 minutes before the battery causes it to shut off randomly. i have no idea why it does this because it says the battery is fully charged and i had it in the charger over night and it still does this. i feel like i have wasted 50$ on this battery and i cant even use it now. does any one know if there is a way i can fix this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter messing with the LED Light app, it appears that only my bottom LED is lighting up. I've tried taking multiple pictures in different lighting situations and I'm having the same problem. I could have sworn that both LEDs lit up before. I've never kept the LED Light app on for an extended amount of time so I don't believe I've caused it to burn out.
