I did the manual upgrade to 2.2 Froyo last night and 2 applications have stopped working
-1) Ringo Lite is totally gone and will not install at all manually.
-2) Open Home is installed but cannot seem to make it stick as the default "home" application. Everytime I hit the Home button on my N1 it goes back to the 2.2 (froyo) default home screen.

I've rooted my Incredible with Unrevoked 3 and I have successfully used Unrevoked Forever to set S=OFF.now, I am trying to update to Froyo, but I am confused as crap.Can I use the official OTA update and do it manually? Or do I need a different ROM to update manually with.I've searched here and there everywhere and I haven't gotten a firm answer or I can't find anything at all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated officially to Froyo 2.2 today from the VZW notification. Now, whenever I select my camcorder, it goes back to the home screen and does not launch. I removed a flashlight app that I had installed from the market. I restarted several times. Tried removing the battery for 15 minutes. All no help. any suggestions. Everything else seems to work properly.

Could somebody direct me to step by step instructions if they are available? Would he have to root? I searched for a bit but didn't find anything specifically for the Vibrant.

However, I have been having problems like system hangs and video playback not smooth like before. I wanted to get back to my original 2.1 firmware and wait for the OTA update instead. Is there any way I can switch back to the old firmware update of 2.1?
View 12 Replies View Relatedi was reading some articles about improving battery. one tip was to go to the dialer and do *#*#4636#*#* and wait and then it will take u to a screen where u go to phone info and hit menu and change the network from gsm to cdma. i tried this and when i entered the numbers into the dialer it didnt do anything. the thread was from june so does this not work anymore?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am developing on Windows machine.I was working quite well until yesterday, when I saw the the update prompt and updated my ADT plugin. Today when I tried debugging my test project, I experienced either one the following cases:
1) Logcat stops forever on the message "sending wait chunk".
2) Logcat shows the following message, and test project fails:
3) Eclipse stops responding.
The above cases happens even when the test unit contains nothing.Also it just doesn't not work in debug. The test case runs successfully if it is not in debug mode (But there are still some glitches, like Logcat sometimes won't emit debug messages).
I setup SIP calling through Sipdroid and Pbxes just fine. Uninstalled Sipdroid and was able to make SIP calls over 3G/WiFi using the Android Native Dialer. Suddenly my SIP calling does not work any more. I did not change any of the settings. When making calls over 3G/WiFi the call connects but immediately hangs up. The call log shows the call as outgoing but lasting "0 minutes, 0 seconds." The Sipdroid app works just fine but I don't want it running all the time.
UPDATE: I can make outgoing calls only if "Receive Incoming Calls" is checked. I would assume there is a way to make outgoing calls over SIP without having to accept them since I have GV forwarded to my cell number (yes I know it uses minutes but it saves on battery.)

The weather just suddenly stopped working yesterday. I didn't change anything. I turned off the phone and back on, still with the same problem. I use wifi on it everyday, so I assume it would update but doesn't.
View 3 Replies View RelatedProbably a very simple fix here, but I can't figure it out. I deleted a few roms off of my sd card to make room for the new warm 2.2 release and went to flash it. For some reason, when I'm in the boot screen, I select recovery, but it doesn't boot into the actual recovery mode anymore, it goes to another white screen which I think is the fastboot screen.

But when I try to install an APK clicking on Install does not respond and no message appears. I rebooted more times, cleared all caches, etc. to no avail.
As written in the title, the time-out screen doesn't work anymore on my 4 days old htc magic.

2 months ago before it upgraded itselve to curent version i instaled latest navigon without problems and it work pretty well. Since ICS is upgraded navigon doesen't work anymore. I tryed to DLL latest version of Navigon ( 4.1.1 ) and it doesent wan't to work. I can install it but when i open it up i get an error that im not connected to an internet connection or im not loged in to google play. my WI-FI is on and it don't want to work.
Since updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...
2.2 OTA, rooted via z4 root, superuser; wireless tether; deodex; revolution theme
Cannot get wireless tether to work anymore. It gets superuser permissions, My laptop detects the network, it connects to it, but I cannot load any pages and nothing is being sent up and down except for 3-4 kb.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resets, etc. My root seems to be fine.
I flashed wrong ROM with my device with odin, and my device doesn't work any more.
It looks like a real brick. It just stay in black screen. No vibration, No sound and No animation!! What can I do for my device?
A) The data network access doesn't work anymore. B) The touch screen is not responsive freezes a lot.C) The text messaging freezes then sends out 20 of the same message.And I have done numerous battery breaks.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've posted this question over on the Samsung Galaxy S section, however, it may be a more general query that someone can help with, particularly the unrooting query as I realise some other phone users have already went through the 2.1-2.2 upgrade. I've rooted and applied the "one click LAG fix" to my glitchy SGS running 2.1 and the phone performs very smoothly and reliably since. (benchmarks are consistently over 2200, although I realise that statistics aren't everything)
It is expected that sometime in the next few weeks in the UK (???) that the upgrade to Froyo will be available through the Samsung KIES desktop software rather than OTA and I have the following queries.
1. Should the phone be unrooted before an upgrade is attempted?
2. Should the "LAG fix" be removed before an upgrade?
3. Has anyone previously removed their "LAG fix" and can they advise if there are any gotchas I should look out for?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI just manually updated to 2.2 (successfully) but I started to panic when I couldn't find the camera shots category in the new gallery app. I mounted the phone to my computer and found the photos on my phones internal memory, so they're all safe, but I still cant view them on my phone. Also, whenever I take a picture and try to go back to review it later, I get a "no photos found" error, and the new photo doesn't show up in the directory of the previously "lost" photos from prior to the update. It's safe to say that I'm utterly bamboozled. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix it?

Nexus One: Despite the shuttering of its online store, Google's flagship phone is still first in line for the Froyo upgrade. In late May, a "very limited test group" received an early copy of the 2.2 software. Google has since been working on final tweaks and expects a widespread rollout to begin soon.
Motorola Droid: The Droid that started it all is set to be second in line for the Android 2.2 upgrade. Early reports suggested the Droid could see Froyo before the end of June. We all know what happened with the Droid's 2.1 upgrade schedule, though, so don't mark your calendars just yet.
HTC Droid Incredible: HTC has confirmed that its newest Droid handset will be feasting on Froyo. No specific timeframe has been released outside of sometime "in the second half of this year."
HTC EVO 4G: The EVO 4G is the phone most frequently pitted up against Apple's new iPhone 4 (hint: the EVO wins), so it's no surprise that it's on the confirmed guest list for the latest and greatest Android release. The EVO should get Froyo sometime in the next six months.
MyTouch 3G and MyTouch 3G Slide: The entire MyTouch line of phones on T-Mobile is expected to see Froyo before the end of 2010.
HTC Desire: It's not yet available in the States, but this desirable HTC handset is on-tap to get the Android 2.2 upgrade sometime in the next six months as well.
I just did a hard reset on my phone but it seems as if the bootup screen ((Freshhhh logo) still come up every time I restart the phone. I also have problems installing 2.2 OTA from HTC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new on here as I only got my HTC Hero the other day, and while trawling the internet for answers this place kept coming up. I have a few questions about this phone, or more to the point, the android OS running it. I see that it only has android 1.5 on it at the moment, and there are no newer upgrades available yet. That said, I've read in numerous places on the net that android 2.1 is coming to the HTC hero at the end of this week or start of next week depending on your network, is this true? What would this upgrade actually improve? My new phone seems pretty stable and usable as it is already, wasn't voted best phone of 2009 for nothing I guess. My second query is about the apps from the android market. When this 2.1 upgrade comes, I expect it'll wipe the phone clean and reinstall with the newer OS. If any apps are already paid for, will I have to pay again to download them a second time? Or is there any way of me backing them up first?
View 30 Replies View RelatedMy Desire was crashing, so I requested a replacement with O2 business. I upgraded to 2.2 last week using the software update link on the phone. Today I received my 'new' handset from O2 which still has 2.1-update1 as the firmware version. When I tried to upgrade I was informed there is no newer version. Spoke to O2 business, who told me that HTC had withdrawn it again. I'm kinda pleased that my 2.2 desire has been sent back, if there are serious enough issues with Froyo for it to be withdrawn. I did like a couple of things extra in the menu structures, but is it really that important?

Just did the O2 OTA upgrade and I notice I have no Market app. (I may be missing other things also, I don't know, since I'm a fairly new user).
