HTC Droid Eris :: Facebook App - News Feed Not Working Anymore?
Feb 5, 2010For some reason, my Facebook App doesn't show the News Feed anymore. It worked this morning, but not anymore. When I click the News Feed button, it just says "Loading User Info" and then it shows my info.Anyone know how to fix this?

Oct 26, 2010i was reading some articles about improving battery. one tip was to go to the dialer and do *#*#4636#*#* and wait and then it will take u to a screen where u go to phone info and hit menu and change the network from gsm to cdma. i tried this and when i entered the numbers into the dialer it didnt do anything. the thread was from june so does this not work anymore?

May 24, 2010I did the manual upgrade to 2.2 Froyo last night and 2 applications have stopped working
-1) Ringo Lite is totally gone and will not install at all manually.
-2) Open Home is installed but cannot seem to make it stick as the default "home" application. Everytime I hit the Home button on my N1 it goes back to the 2.2 (froyo) default home screen.
Android :: Debugging Project In Eclipse Suddenly Doesn't Work Anymore
Aug 15, 2010I am developing on Windows machine.I was working quite well until yesterday, when I saw the the update prompt and updated my ADT plugin. Today when I tried debugging my test project, I experienced either one the following cases:
1) Logcat stops forever on the message "sending wait chunk".
2) Logcat shows the following message, and test project fails:
3) Eclipse stops responding.
The above cases happens even when the test unit contains nothing.Also it just doesn't not work in debug. The test case runs successfully if it is not in debug mode (But there are still some glitches, like Logcat sometimes won't emit debug messages).
General :: SIP Calling Does Not Work Anymore?
May 8, 2012I setup SIP calling through Sipdroid and Pbxes just fine. Uninstalled Sipdroid and was able to make SIP calls over 3G/WiFi using the Android Native Dialer. Suddenly my SIP calling does not work any more. I did not change any of the settings. When making calls over 3G/WiFi the call connects but immediately hangs up. The call log shows the call as outgoing but lasting "0 minutes, 0 seconds." The Sipdroid app works just fine but I don't want it running all the time.
UPDATE: I can make outgoing calls only if "Receive Incoming Calls" is checked. I would assume there is a way to make outgoing calls over SIP without having to accept them since I have GV forwarded to my cell number (yes I know it uses minutes but it saves on battery.)

Jan 18, 2010The weather just suddenly stopped working yesterday. I didn't change anything. I turned off the phone and back on, still with the same problem. I use wifi on it everyday, so I assume it would update but doesn't.

Oct 18, 2010Probably a very simple fix here, but I can't figure it out. I deleted a few roms off of my sd card to make room for the new warm 2.2 release and went to flash it. For some reason, when I'm in the boot screen, I select recovery, but it doesn't boot into the actual recovery mode anymore, it goes to another white screen which I think is the fastboot screen.

Motorola Droid X :: Can't Get Contact Shortcut Pictures To Work Anymore
Sep 25, 2010Since updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...

Cannot get wireless tether to work anymore. It gets superuser permissions, My laptop detects the network, it connects to it, but I cannot load any pages and nothing is being sent up and down except for 3-4 kb.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resets, etc. My root seems to be fine.

Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.

Nov 10, 2010I just removed the DC ROM that I was using and installed the .6 Sprint Stock 2.1 ROM and rooted it With the grand help of this forum. It really does all that I want in my phone but I missed the XDA HTC_MOD Keyboard w/smileys. After some research on XDA I found that for this phone I needed the LOW RES. version of this keyboard. Here is the link for The instructions and where to download the .zip file to get the job done.

The process was very straight forward on the unzip and install but I ran into trouble getting the keyboard to actually start on my phone. When they say to "kill" the keyboard.
Here are the instructions that worked for me:
"You don't need to kill the keyboard to enable it, but there is an option at the bottom of this keyboards settings menu for "Kill Keyboard" and that's what it's referring to."
"After you have enabled it you need to select this as your active keyboard. Go to any screen you can type in (compose a new text message for example) and long press in the text input box. Select choose input method, then select the HTC_IME mod."
Motorola Droid : Virtual Keyboard Sometimes Doesn't Work
Feb 8, 2010Just wondering if anyone else runs into this problem.... Every so often, I go to type in a message, either on the pop up from handcent, or in the actual program, and no matter what I hit, the keyboard doesn't type anything. I can switch inputs from Swype to Android keyboard and usually it doesnt do anything (though sometimes it starts working again). Sometimes it fixes itself if I leave it alone for a few minutes, but other times it needs a battery pull to fix. It's not a huge deal as it doesn't happen every time i use the phone, but definitely something I wish didn't happen

Jun 13, 2010I text. A lot. It's very irritating when the keyboard on the Eris can't keep up with how fast I type. I'll be finished with my message, and the last few words take 1-3 seconds to show up, which is fine I suppose. However, when I make some errors, the auto-correct feature doesn't work because apparently my typing speed is too quick for it.
Everything works fine when I type slowly, but that's annoying too.
I barely have any apps besides the stock ones. In running services I only have the calendar, Google Voice, Touch Input, and BatteryTime running. I don't use any app killer, I have animations and haptic feedback turned off. I don't know what else I can do to speed this phone up.
This problem, the lag in switching from portrait to landscape, and the lag with calls is really making me want to sell my Eris and purchase the Incredible, or I may wait until the "Moto Droid X" releases in July....or is that just a rumor?
