View 13 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to make VoIP calls or Skype Out calls on the EVO? I am switching from the iPhone 3GS and am going out of the country on vacation in a month and I got used to making Skype Out calls over WiFi when out of the country.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate. Seems like a nice phone. Every phone I've had in the past (Nokia, Sony, etc...) has always allowed me to hide my number so that the call display on the receiver's phone shows my call as 'private'. This is useful for when you don't want certain people to have your number when you call. Is there a way to do this on the Galaxy S? I couldn't seem to find any setting how.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use hands free dialing a lot and I know the DI does not have hands free dialing. What are the steps needed to make a call on the DI?I have heard you have to push some buttons on the DI.How many steps are involved?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI thought I read something about Skype no longer being compatible with Fring, so no more video calls w HTC EVO. Then, I read about people making video calls with Fring. I don't get it. This is confusing. Can we make video calls ?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI looked around and really cont find an answer to this... I love 2.1 but now my phone barely works to make calls. I can make a call, but then if I try to make another, the phone will just go black. The other person says they can hear me, but I hear nothing. Is there a fix other than shutting off the phone after every call?
View 4 Replies View Relatedshooting out emails etc. then, someone called me, i answered, and it connected, but i could not hear anyone. after some troubleshooting, this is what i've concluded: if i call someone non-speaker phone, neither the other party or myself can hear each other, even though it is connected. if i am on speaker phone, they can hear me, i cannot hear them on bluetooth it's fine, i can hear them and they can hear me. i just got the phone, and i cant send or receive calls? i talked to verizon tech dept, and they were like, whoa that's weird, and read me some tips and tricks on calling that is in the pamphlet that came with the phone. they said to do a factory reset. i really think it should be working, i've spent the past 6 hours customizing it, and i really dont want to reset everything, in hopes it "might" fix the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLately I can be outside in Central London with 4 or more bars showing on my HTC Desire but can't make or receive any calls. This happened in the Putney area last week and yesterday I was in Camden so I thought it must be a network problem until my mate with an Orange iPhone sat next to me and starting making calls with no problem. Anyone else finding this? The phone says its dialing on the display but seconds later it says call ended. I do try various different numbers just to check but get the same results.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Hero has been playing up recently. Drops calls as I try and make them and will not receive calls. I did a factory reset and it all worked again earlier this week but it has just gone back to no calls.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got the google voice app installed and set to make all calls through GV but finding the phone app isn't making calls using GV. Anyone else running into this? Tried restarting the phone with no change.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw somewhere that you can supposedly turn off your 3g (mobile network radio) and use wifi to make/receive calls. Is this true? I've attempted to test this out by using the mobile widget and turning it off. I can make and receive calls with only wifi on, but I still find it hard to believe. I'm assuming that I haven't fully turned off the 3g radio. Looking for options, as I work in a bad reception zone (basement).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using fring on htc 4g... It makes a fringe to fringe video call pretty ok. I cant figure out how to dial someones skype account to a PC.
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend is headed overseas next week. We're trying to figure out how to use our phones to make calls over wifi. She has an Incredible and I have an Eris (both on Verizon). It looks like we can't use Skype because it requires Verizon network coverage to work. It looks like Gizmo5 with Google Voice may have been an option at one time, but Google shut that down by acquiring Gizmo5. So my question is, is there any way that we can make calls to each other over wifi?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since the 4.4.2 update, you can't make calls unless your connected to 4g? I've read on google forums saying that a lot of people can't make phone calls unless your in an area that has 4g. However, changing the band's to only 3g fixes this problem. My nexus 5 is doing this and I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Considering an RMA.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems all the posts are about the opposite but I rooted and things were good, installed leedroid last night and just recently turned off my wifi and that's when I noticed that I had no data? I'm on Telus and far from using all of my plan. Very odd! Re-flashing with "AuraxTSense v8.0 HTC Sense 2.2" I do get the "limited service" warning at start up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt will take incoming calls, send and receive sms and use data just fine but when I go to make an outgoing call I get this screen. The only way to fix it is to reboot the phone. Once I had to reboot twice in a row.
View 8 Replies View RelatedGoogle Voice runs flawlessly on my Droid. I recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife, and while Google Voice SMS and inbound calling works fine, outbound calling does not. I notice that Google's "bridging number" used to connect me with the recipient on the Eris is different than the one used by my Droid. When dialing on my Droid, the call is routed through (518) 314-9466, while the problematic Eris is using (609) 987-0466. My wife's GV number is a (908) number which is probably why she is being routed through a (609) bridging number, both being South Jersey Area codes.
Does anyone think this is the problem? If so, is there a way to adjust which bridging number through which outbound calls are connnected. Has anyone else suffered this issue? We are really concerned as Google Voice integration was the primary reason for purchasing this phone. I thought to add that (i) I am using version 0.2.8 in all instances, (ii) the Eris has been updated with the recent OTA update from Verizon (though I didn't have a chance to use Google Voice beforehand to to determine if this is a post-update issue or not) and (iii) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the market multiple times in hopes of rectifying this issue.
I used *228 and pressed 1 and did it again and pressed 2 neither worked and still cant make calls.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I tap 'call mobile' there is no attempt to dial and the call ends straight away (the end call button at the bottom greys out as soon as I tap call). This has only just started happening. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what's the solution?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot make any calls with my Incredible all of a sudden - I cannot even reach my voice mail. Every time I try to dial out there is about 10 seconds of silence followed by beeps and then the message on screen says "Network Status: The network is busy. Please try again later." The problem started this morning and I haven't been able to make any calls since then. I have a great network signal (3-4 bars) and I can check email, surf the web and everything. I am not aware of any update that might have caused this.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am going to be spending a little time in Canada for work. I know that if I turn my phone on it will connect to the network and start downloading email, texts, etc. Before I leave for canada I want to set up my phone so that when I turn it on up there, it won't try to get my e-mails. I also want to find away to stay in contact with my wife through the wifi. I do have google voice, so is there a way to use that to talk to her? The hotel does have wifi so I need to be able to turn off 1x, 3g, 2g, or whatever the phone uses to connect to the network but leave the wifi on. I would love some suggestions on how to keep in touch with my wife without getting charged for it. When I am in the hotel I will be using skype to talk to her through my laptop, but I wont be in the hotel during the day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Google voice with my own cell #, not a GV #. But when I go to make a call with with the regular keypad or via GV there is no option to place the call with GV. When I go to GV settings the only options it has are never use GV, ask every time I place an international call, or use GV for international calls only. Never a mention of using GV for domestic calls. Anyone know why? Currently using Droid with 2.0.1.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone successfully last night and installed MoDaCo.
Everything worked OK. Today I tried Cyanogen and it seemed to work OK. I've tried to install a couple of themes. One worked and one didn't.
I don't know when, but my phone will now not send or receive texts or calls. I still have a 3G data connection (back to MoDaCo) and the internet and Market work fine.
I really don't know what to do. The recovery image "recovery-ra-nexus..." seems to have disappeared from the bootloader. The phone isn't bricked so I guess that there is a way out of this?
SO I've restored my first Nand Backup which is the recovery image ra-nexus-v1.7.0.
It quoted restore complete. I backed up and rebooted. Weird thing is it boots up into Cyanogen ROM!!! And now I have no service, NOTHING!
Kind of new to this so if you would please stick with me I would appreciated it. I flashed to Fresh 2.0d yesterday w/o any real issues and now it appears that I can not make out going calls (in-coming as well possibly). I get a 'your account can not be verified' message. I also received an email referring to my purchase of a new 'nexus one' this morning, not really sure what that is all about. All the data stuff seem seems to be working fine sms, email, internet etc. (voicemail I have no idea about though).I could really use a hand here, this is my only phone, I am feeling a bit cut off atm and if I don't call my mom tomorrow I'm am really in trouble!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an occasional annoyance with the Hero. I think some part of my ear sometimes touches the END CALL button and I get disconnected. Is there an app or something that might make you either touch in 2 places or slide a button or some other way to make it just a bit harder to hang up?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI will be traveling to Saint Maarten in September. I have a unlocked Samsung Vibrant and plan on purchasing a SIM card from Orange Wireless for local calls on the Island, unless they sell SIM cards with international credits already on them. I just want to know what would be the cheapest route for me to make calls back home. So far it looks like using the NIM BUZZ app and making the calls VOIP will be the cheapest way.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a Blackberry to an Epic and like the phone very much. However the Blackberry had one feature that I found very helpful which the Epic either doesn't have or I just haven't figured out how to do it and it is this: When using the Blackberry I would put info into the Calendar which included a phone # and then when going to it after saving it, it would highlight the phone # by default and all I had to do was push the phone symbol to make a call. Thus far w/ the Epic, I need to write down the phone # on a piece of paper and dial it. Any advice?
