View 2 RepliesSo I never had this problem before, and I don't know what I may have changed that started it. Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am currently an iPhone 4s user and really like the way that the switch toggles between no sound (vibrate) and sound. I leave me phone in vibrate mode for most of the day and in the evening I tend to switch it to sound so I can hear the alerts from around my house when I don't have the phone with me. I am thinking about switching to an android device (S4 or HTC One) and have a few friends that haven't been able to duplicate the behavior of the iPhone. They get sound with vibration or some other weird combinations that wont work for me. Is this a limitation of the OS or is it device specific? I basically want everything to vibrate (Ringer, SMS, Email) with the option of changing everything to sound, no combinations of the two. I also need to distinguish between types of messages by using different vibration patterns.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIts probably just because I am a tard but can you make it so when you put it on silent you cant hit the volume up and down on the Motorolla Droid. Also can I make my notifications vibrate instead of sound or no sound?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola Droid and I would like to find a way to get my phone to vibrate when I get a new text message while I have the sounds off. I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that when I switch to "Sound Off" on my lock screen, it's turning off vibrate too. Does anyone know if its possible to change the default behavior of "Sound Off" to be "Vibrate On", or at least not to affect things that are already on vibrate?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to disable this sound? When you are focusing it, it makes the little ding! sound, even when it is in vibrate mode. I was playing around with the camera at work this morning and found this out. kinda scared me cause i thought that since i have it in vibrate mode, it shouldn't make any sounds, right?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe first day i got my phone the alarm sounded. now it doesn't, it will vibrate and light up but no sound. i don't know where to go to get it to sound, I've searched every settings nook and crannies.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo my wife just tells me (5 days after the last day I have to return my phone) that lately the sound quality when I call her is terrible. She has trouble hearing me and mainly hears a bunch of background noise while my voice is kind of faint. My signal strength doesn't seem to make much of a difference. On my end calls sound great. Just trying to see if anyone else has had any complaints. She claims it was better before. Not sure what's going on but I'd hate to think this phone sounds terrible to the people I am calling.

View 14 Replies View RelatedUsually my phone is on silent, and last night, I turned the ringtone volume up. So, I set my notification sound when I receive a message. Whenever I receive a message though, the sound is VERY faint and almost silent. The media volume is all the way up... Is this a phone or Handcent problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a notification, like an email or text, I want the phone to vibrate for like 15 seconds in like pulses of 3. It will vibrate a fair amount if the volume is on, but when I put the phone to vibrate only, the ONLY thing that vibrates is the ringer. I find this to be a general annoyance with Android I think. Anyone know a way I can customize the vibration settings for notifications (text, email, etc) when the phone is on silent (vibrate only)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs anyone familiar with the following problem. When my Hero receives a new email, the flashball notifices me about it, but the notification sound and vibrate do not work even though I have them both checked in the settings (the sound is also selected). However, when I receive a new sms message, all of them work perfectly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else has this with their phone: When I have haptic feedback activated and i am texting(not using swipe) with each vibration I can hear a very very feint tinny ring (This is the best way i can describe it) And the major emphasis being on FEINT. Ive never owned a samsung before and so im wondering if thats just something that comes along with the vibration.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter the update, the shutter sound is not silent when in silent/vibrate mode. Sony always had this one in a bag. Why does it fail now? Please fix this Also, I am not sure if this is bug, but to activate camera with camera button, now you need to long press the button, whereas before you just had to tap. [Is it a bug or a fix?] But, the previous mentioned is a bug. Shutter should not make a sound when the phone is on silent mode or vibrate mode.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been having this sound issue that keeps driving me crazy. At least once a week my phone will go silent (I guess that's one way to put it) on me.
My media volume, notification volume and call volume are all at max, but I get no sound out of my phone when a call or message, etc. starts up on my phone. I know it's not any option I'm accidentially hitting on my phone because I can literally get off of one call where the volume worked fine when my phone rang and two minutes later it's messed up. A simple reboot fixes this issue, but it's annoying having to do that. At first I thought it might be rom specific, but it has happened with just about every rom I can remember using.
Has anyone else run across this happening?
In my application, RTSP streams play only sound without video, but if i specify the video path as a local file, it plays the video and audio.

Is there a way to have a different notification sound for receiving an email versus receiving a text message? Right now it's the same sound for both.
View 2 Replies View RelatedQuestions about alerts: 1) Is there a way to get your alerts to be sound only? It still plays a sound AND vibrates, and that's driving me nuts. 2) Is there a way for the "native" alert sound management software to recognize imported files for alerts? I've used a downloaded program that will allow me to pick song files, but it's use of them is inconsistent, even though when I go to the setting, it still has the file I chose listed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone that got the OTA has experienced the no sound bug yet. I am currently stuck on leak V3 and several times a week I have to reboot my phone due to the sounds cutting out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo the other night I was out and my battery was running low. I was around 12%. I previously made a call around 10:10. The phone worked normally, it rang and such but no one picked up. Around 15mins later I used the phone again to call my dad. There was no sound from the ear piece. But I looked at the screen and it shows my dad picked up. I tried to tell him, I'll call him back. But apparently he couldn't hear me so he kept calling me. I answered the call but no sound was coming out of the ear piece and the mic wasn't sending my voice to him. I tried to call my friend who was with me and the same happened. I turned off the phone and turned it on again and it works properly. Has this happen to anyone? This was the first time occurring. I'm on the 2.1 leak.
