All I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate

Hey, I was playing around with my Incredible today, and to my dismay I have made it so my phone does not vibrate when I receive text messages.
I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.
My phone when in vibrate mode doesnt vibrate when i receive a text, but does if i receive a call, all settings are as they should be for it to vibrate....

I turn it off and set it to normal, when i receive an SMS it changes to Vibrate and i dont hear my ringtone. I'm using CM10

I have my phone up in the settings for both email and for text messages to give me a vibrate alert on any text or emails. All I get is the audible ring and no vibration. It is the same on incoming calls. The vibrate works if I turn the ringer off and go to vibrate mode, but it won't work with the ringer.

When getting a new text, it acts as if its on silent and not vibrate or anything but when i receive a phone call it vibrates. So i download Handscent to see if it vibrates with that app and it didnt. I have been throuh all the settings it seems like and I still cant get a vibrate with new sms messages.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason no matter what I do I can't seem to get my vibrate to work when I receive a text message. It used ti work until one day it just stopped. I have tried everything I could think of except doing a hard reset, which I don't really want to do. It seems to only not want to work with text messages. Phone works fine, as far as vibrate goes, and anything else that vibrates works without a problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI put my phone on vibrate and everything seems to be working fine except for some parts..when i get a text my vibrate doesn't work [i'm using chompsms] but when i'm on the phone and i get a text my phone ivbrates or when i set the keyboard to vibrate it doesn't work or i get mail notifications of mail or from fb it doesn't work but other than that all the vibrates seem to be working fine. can anyone help me? i was wondering if i could just press the factory reset on my phone to see if that would work but i'm rooted.. would that effect anything? like if i were to do that, would it brick my phone since its rooted? i was going to unroot it and bring it in to sprint but i heard that there were some issues when people tried flashing back so i don't know if i want to do that..

1) Is there a way to avoid notification sounds to take place during media playback, mainly music player, without having to change my sounds profile to silent, or vibrate?
2) All of a sudden my phone is taking a little long to load SMS conversations. Is there a way to fix that? I feel as though my Snapdragon shouldn't lag when I open a text.
I'll be talking on the phone and might receive a text message or gmail from someone. My phone immediately vibrates twice to notify me. Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using an app called EAR that allows you to make different sound profiles for your phone sort of like how a Blackberry does meaning, I have a profile I put the phone on when I'm home and out and about that has rings for phone calls and all notifications (SMS, MMS, etc). Now I also have a profile that puts everything on vibrate for instances such as in a meeting or somewhere where I don't want my phone ringing and causing attention. I just found an app called Missed Reminder which is pretty good.
I have it set to vibrate and ring every couple minutes if I have a missed call or MMS (I don't use the missed SMS part because Handcent does this, but I did test it and both will work if you have them both active). My question is this, if I use EAR to put my phone on vibrate profile will it quiet the reminder rings from Missed reminder? I have no way of testing this on my own as my cell phone is my only phone in the house. Can someone that is running these apps test it out and let me know. I have a feeling that EAR will not overwrite the Missed reminder settings
I have the Motorola Droid and I would like to find a way to get my phone to vibrate when I get a new text message while I have the sounds off. I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded Handcent and love all the options that it gives. However, there are times when I set my phone on silent and do not want anything to vibrate. I have went through all of the settings and notifications and changed everything to "never" vibrate. But still when I receive a new message it does the 3 or 4 vibrate tones. I am sure I am over looking something, but I am gettng a little aggervated.

I have "MINI INFO WIDGET" and when I go in there to adjust the volume to vibrate it will work but then when I try to go back to Sound Profile I have to manually adjust the sound again? I have Vibrate Widget and when that is selected it goes to silent only. I tried Uninstalling MINI INFO and VIBRATE WIDGET but I still have the same result sooo it can't be the programs.
