View 2 RepliesI have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis may have been said before about incoming messages or maybe calls, but I'm wondering how to turn off vibrate during call waiting. In other words, when I am on a call and someone else calls, the thing continues to vibrate. I would just like a beep or two.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to turn the vibration off for text messages? It's quite loud and interrupts meetings on occasion.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with my phone and all of the sudden the vibrate stopped. Is there anything I can do to turn this back on or what is the problem with it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow to turn off vibrate for the home/menu/back/search keys? I've turned off vibrate for dialing and other menus, but the lower keys I can't change.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDid a little searching and got nothing on this.
Is there a way I can turn the vibrate on press off for the dialer? I think that is causing some of the lag. Nothing on my phone vibrates except when receiving a call and when dialing. It's much more responsive with vibrate on press turned off. Also is there a way to silence the emergency dialer?
Does anyone know how to turn off the sound when you turn the phone on?

View 16 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since 2.1 my phone doesn't vibrate for SMS/MMS. I use the native messenger and I have notifications on and vibrate on, but it only vibrates for calls when in vibrate mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst, can we change the phone to vibrate once instead of twice when receiving an SMS?
Also, is it possible to have the phone turn on its screen briefly when an SMS is received?
I'm talking about while using the native Messages app, not with chompSMS or Handcent.
I cracked my screen and got a replacement. I am trying to activate the old phone after I have preformed a factory reset. It asked me to input a phone number for activation. I do not want to do this. what are my options.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to turn the ringer off but leave the vibrate on? When I turn silent on it turns the vibrate off as well. I don't like having to go to settings and manually turn on the vibrate each time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to turn vibrations off completely throughout the phone but it still vibrates when i get texts. there doesn't seem to be an option within handcent to turn it off. i'd rather just have the ringer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed when I search for a business or whatever and google finds a phone number, I click on it and it thinks it is a web page. It should open up the dialer and call the number.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BB had a cool feature that I have not found in the Eris yet. It would automatically recognize phone numbers in emails. It turned them into a link. When you clicked it, it would dial the number. Saves you from having to remember it or copy/paste into phone app.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince the 2.1 OTA, I noticed in my contacts that it shows ALL phone numbers as numbers to send messages to.Previously, message numbers were all set to just the mobile numbers. I don't see any easy way to fix this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone knows any good apps to disguise my phone number so I can prank call some of my friends with it. I would love to be able to record the conversation but that isn't a necessity I just want to fake my number.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to add a phone number from your Contacts to a text message, without attaching the contact as a vCard? Some of my friends can't get the attachment and I just want to be able to copy and paste the number into the text body.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat is that number you dial to make the Eris look for an update? Something like "#*#*something#*#*" but I don't remember exactly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden when I type a phone number, I get sound when I press the numbers.. I know I had shut this off before but cant figure out where...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI read somewhere here I believe, although I can't find it now. That there is a way to make the phone ask for confirmation before you dial the number? Specifically I am inadvertantly dialing my favorites, I would like the phone to ask before dialing.
I am running LEAKED 2.1
My Droid Eris is lagging terribly and I'm fairly certain its due largely to the number of texts i have saved in my phone. After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAny ideas here? My phone has been acting up lately so I did a factory reset. So far so good with the exception of my 3G. It won't turn on. put the mobile widget back on and it stays in the "on" position, but no mobile network. Went into settings/wireless&networks, scrolled down to mobile network. It says turning on..., but it's not doing anything and won't let me check or unchecked the box. When I touch the screen it just highlights it. I'm really starting to hate this phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had turned off the Eris and when I turned it back on, I get a little icon with a question mark and in Notifications it says "The SD card is damaged. You may have to reformat." The first time I did reformat (after, as I thought, saving everything I wanted to my PC - turns out I didn't save photos ). This time, I'm wondering if it's really damaged or not. Anyone have experience with this? It seems kind of odd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the phone info, found by dialing *#*#4636#*#* one button in this is "Turn off radio".I'm interested to know if this could be used to work around the current inability to do airplane mode and enable wifi at the same time on the Eris. Could you use this option to turn off the radio, disable mobile network, and then enable wifi?Has anyone seen if this works, and if turning the radio on and off is as easy as finding this button? I'm a bit afraid to try it myself right now.
