View 16 RepliesUsing Handcent SMS, but my phone won't vibrate when I get a message. It vibrates when I get a call.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried handcent and chomp. For some reason I can not get the phone to vibrate when I receive a message. It works with the weak stock Eris vibration, but nothing with chomp or handcent.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my eris to 2.1 and I really like it. The main thing that is currently annoying me with it is that when I am on a call, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. I like that it vibrates when I receive texts just not while I'm on the phone. How do I change this 'Phone Only' preference? 1.5 always just had a little beep or sound for the notifier never vibrated?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I'm a very happy Eris user. I've had the phone since January and have just decided to "put up with" the fact the vibration is too weak. But its starting to get rediculous. I miss calls, texts and emails constantly with this phone! And just yesterday, my Boss actually made a comment to me about it (something like "you need to start answering you damn phone!"). I had a BB for 5 years leading up to my getting the Eris in January and rarely missed a call or message.
I have Smart Vibrate loaded and have programmed distinct patterns, but it's not helping. If somebody doesn't have a good idea or remedy for this, I might be forced to go back to BB.
I've read posts like this before and everybody just seems to deal with this, but please tell me somebody has a trick they can share
Anyone know a good App or a fix to make the vibration on the EVO stronger or last longer. I never feel my phone vibrate.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis thread is from sprint community but those guys were being an assholes so i moved it to here. so here we go!
My older phone is Sidekick 3, the vibrate on that thing is a monster. however the hero is so weak i could never feel anything not even if i place it on my skin of my leg. Vibrate is very important to me. I even wrapped my pant tight so it presses against my skin harder but nope! I'm seriously thinking about sending it back.
were anyone able to feel their phone vibrate? if so what pattern and how do you wear it?
I despise any form of audible notification on phones and so generally have it on vibrate for 99% of the time. However, I find the Incredible's vibrate notification for text messages a joke: two quick spurts and no recurring vibrating. Is there any way to perhaps change the text notification to be like a phone call (instead just be two bursts of it) and even make it recurring? Stock options are unbelievably bare and I haven't found any apps that change the vibrate profile.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter the Touchdown update I can't get any of my notifications to vibrate for either email or SMS. The phone will still vibrate. I emailed Touchdown and they said that they have heard some things about the vibrate issue but have not been able to duplicate the problems, he recommended a reboot which after two times has not done anything to help the situation. I have to have the vibrate settings for work so I'm screwed without them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm picking up a Droid tomorrow. How is the call vibrate? I constantly missed just about every call on my Eris.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have no idea what I did. My DX will not ring for incoming calls. It will only vibrate. I've set ringtones and nothing happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn our alltel contract, all my family lines get unlimited data for $40 a month. My parents are looking to upgrade their regular phones (for free) and I was going to recommend the eris (from amazon) to them. I have heard some talk of not having very good signal and mention of some bugs and want to know how much truth there is behind these (especially signal) or if they were lemons, etc. if it matters all my parents would do is call/text (obviously), email sync, and maybe browse the web every once in a while. Bugs with, say face book, wouldn't matter.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm using Handcent SMS and I never hear any kind of sound when I receive a text while on the phone. How do I change it so I can hear the alert?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since 2.1 my phone doesn't vibrate for SMS/MMS. I use the native messenger and I have notifications on and vibrate on, but it only vibrates for calls when in vibrate mode.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a way to turn off vibrate on the phone number pad.so far i dont believe you can but i might not be looking in the right spot?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWondering if there are any creative ideas/hacks/apps that can make the vibration on the Eris even a little more noticeable? I think it's fair to say this is a VERY weak vibration feature, and a lot of folks have a hard time feeling it vibrate when a call or notification comes in.
I'm assuming it's a hardware thing, but thought maybe there are some creative workarounds.
I really like most everything else about this phone, but I cannot feel it at all when it's set to vibrate, so I'll definitely be missing calls & texts when carrying it around on my belt (or even pocket) as it's usually in vibrate mode then.
Anyone experience weak bluetooth connectivity with the Eris?My stereo bluetooth headset gets choppy even if it's a few feet from my phone.I don't know if it's the phone's bluetooth signal or the headset. If the phone is in my pocket and I'm walking the shake from my step causes the signal to cut out.I wanna ask others who use stereo bluetooth if they see this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNew to Eris and have set up Wifi to connect to home router (Verizon FIOS Actiontec). Successfully connected (accepted WEP) but get very weak signal and then lose connection. I've turned off "Mobile Network" but still have this problem. I am one room away from router and receive full signal on iMac and printer but only a dot under the Wifi symbol on the Eris. Exchanged a Motorola Droid (which received and held full signal -- as did my prior iPhone)) for Eris. VZW tech support clueless and immediately sent me to HTC support. While they tried (had some not very good explanations -- battery not pushing enough power) still nothing working. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated -- this is the only downside right now.
View 3 Replies View Relatedsince updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts. I know its only a little thing but its really bugging me. how do i turn the vibrate off?
View 2 Replies View Relatedanyone know of any apps that allow my inc to vibrate alert for sms text messages?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an htc hero with sprint. Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? I have searched both the sound and display option in the phone settings and the messages settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep my phone on vibrate most of the time and I've found that when I'm on the phone talking to someone and I get a new email, the phone vibrates so I can hear it, which is great. But the caller on the other end hears it too and they always end up saying 'WTF was that noise'? How to turn this off so callers don't hear the vibrate mode too?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a new problem for the incoming call. My phone is work well until now. The phone doesn't ring and vibrate when incoming call. So, I restart my phone and I tried to call my phone but it's ringing vibrate the first time. Then the second time doesn't work anything.
View 27 Replies View RelatedI am at work and i cant figure out how to turn off the ringer sound while keeping the sms sound everytime i turn the ringer off it for a to silent mode.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
So for my Eris i flashed the new kayos v38 rom and add the conap cfs v8 for the camera and battery drain fix.
Now heres a new problem that I notice! The vibrate for the incoming phone doesnt work It worked last time a install the exact same thing. but now it's like total silence when i put my phone on vibrate.
I use to get a low battery alert warning at 15%, 10% and again at 5%. However, now I am not getting any alerts and my phone just display ready to shut off as I am using it. Is there a settings area that I inadvertantly changed? Has amyone else experienced this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, in 1.5 there were all these complaints (from me, too) that the vibrate on the Eris is useless. But with 2.1, I can definitely feel a difference. Well, I can feel it at all, which is a huge difference. So kudos to HTC for seeing a problem and fixing it. Could be stronger, but still, much much better.
