Anyone else have horrible service with this setup? I thought a new radio was supposed to give better service? Im running Skyraider 3.0 Vanilla, with a 2.15 radio and a 2.6.32 kernel. Anyone know a fix or anything?

Long time lurker. I have had an eris for awhile and numerous issues. I have sent 10 tweets and 4 emails to HTC and tried calling 5 times and keep getting disconnected. Someone picks up and then gone.

I tried with like 3 roms and the same result.
I tought it was a modem problem and I tried to install some modems and see if that works. But it didnt.
My Service State says Out of service and sometimes it says Radio off.
The back of the Droid Incredible looks terrible imo. I like how the N1 looks alot more even if it has differences in the hardware. Thoughts? (Dont flame too bad )
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have a recently purchased Incredible (about 3 weeks) and within the last week the red earpiece on the phone has developed a very severe buzzing noise. Seems whomever I speak with can hear me fine, I just can't understand them. This hasn't been frequent but it is increasing. One day I had an ear shattering high-pitch noise that pretty much stopped all calls and I had to power down the phone. Could this be hardware or software related?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDepends on the size and gauge of the wire of your headphones. Also depends on the position of the wires. FM radio is a little picky, but works fine- depending on the points mentioned. Old & wrong: The FM radio on the Inc must be the weakest radio in a phone, evah! Just tried it today and picks up half the channels my Ngage and N900 pick up well. A lot of channels barely come in, or are static filled. I thought Steely Dan said "FM has no static at all"? Makes the CDMA radio seem not that bad, in comparison I know- at LEAST it has a radio. Must be set to suppa powwa savva mode
View 32 Replies View RelatedI was able to successfully setup a POP account through the Setup Screen...in fact when I go back through Setup, I still see the account. The problem is I can't DO anything with it in setup (including deleting it to start over) and it doesn't show up in my Apps window with an icon! I see it on the setup screen labeled "Setup Accounts" but no matter if I tap it or hold it or swipe it or try to hit the menu key, it just sits there. There is a green button with the checkmark in it. I guess what I would think i ought to be able to do is to assign it an icon (or even get a generic one) and find the account listed on my app screen...I'm willing to reset it, but I can't even delete it to start!

Saw another post that blamed it on the new FB app (which did seem to drain dramatically), so I uninstalled it and still doesn't improve battery life all that much. I don't have active sync on or anything, so I assume it's either the ROM or Froyo?

Prior to the froyo rom (fresh 3.1.x), I was getting about 20+ hours on moderate use (also a fresh rom). I've made sure that google talk isn't running and the awake time isn't an issue. I currently have setcpu running without any profiles active and set it to conservative--no overclocking. My current setup is fresh 3.1.2 rom with Kingxkernel #3.

Can anyone tell me why smartphones are great for everything except being a phone.I struggled with 2 HTC Evos for about a month.Really poor call quality, earpiece was crap(tinny,blown speaker sound) finally returned it and went back to my Samsung Exclaim for the time being.Wow, what a difference.My old Exclaim is crystal clear, at ALL VOLUMES.Told by radioschack employee to just turn the Evo down when it distorts he was right but then you couldn't hear, especially with any background noise.I will probably try the Samsung Epic in a few weeks. My wife has the Samsung Intercept and compared to the EVO earpiece is 120% better.Why don't they put quality earpieces in smartphones?

I've taken pictures with my evo to use for contact pics, and have transferred high quality pics from my computer but no matter what I do the contact pic looks poor quality when they pop up? If there is a fix for this or I'm doing something wrong someone please let me know.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI send lots of text video messages. Before the 2.2 update, the MMS capable video had a decent resolution up to 30 seconds. Since the update, the resolution on the MMS setting (or the low setting) is horrible and almost too grainy to be visible. Is there any workaround? I tried taking just a very short high res. video but it won't let me text it.

Even my little old Nokia does speakerphone 100 times better, and that this is no super-phone. So, is there some kind of graphic equaliser app that can fix this? Please?

Anyhow, I am using Outlook 2007 (non-Exchange) with my company email and Cals. I was wondering if there is a DIFFERENT method for transferring my items from the PC to the DX that anybody has had luck with.
1. Not interested in syncing from Outlook to Google to the phone. PITA.
2. CompanionLink Pro @ $139... wow, you would think it works but it doesn't (and yes, I am transferring in Charge Only mode as described).
3. Their support is close to the worst in the industry. I have now emailed them twice in the last week with zero response.
4. Sometimes the sync works. Sometimes not. Today is a not day. Synced four times and nothing. I have even purged phone contacts and cals to start over. Not working.
All Access, however really hating the battery drain I am getting with the updated app. My battery drain problems started immediately after updating from the pre-All Access version which I never had trouble with. Now it hogs all my battery. Even overnight when I'm sleeping, and the app is not be used and fully exited using the back button, I am getting a loss of 10% battery life per hour. Actually using my phone is even worse. In fact it's rather unusable at this rate of drain. In about 45 minutes of GPMAA use, it lost 25% battery life!
Unchecking the Google Music sync from their account section in settings. I did that, but still getting horrible battery life. Short of uninstalling this app, and losing a service I am really starting to like, what can I do?
A long time ago I upgraded to the 2.15 radio. Everything worked great except for one thing. Occasionally (once every 2-3 days) my 3g goes off and I can't turn it back on. I'll toggle airplane mode to no avail. Is there a way I can re flash the 2.15 radio? I wouldn't even mind returning to stock before re-rooting if thats what it takes.

I mean, not just kinda bad, but basically the reception is so bad that the fm radio is useless. Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix?

The stream looks for compatibility with Windows media player, or itunes, Winamp, or their own platform which loads on my phone but does not work correctly with no volume.
How I can listen to this station, and what I need to download?

I am most interested in changing to a phone w/data pkg - so I can stream am radio when at the gym. (LG Chocolate, two years old - feels like caveman phone now) Would the Inc. be able to do this? - And, would I need to download an app with a player? - or is there one standard with Android?

View 16 Replies View Relatedjust ordered the Incredible and have been checking out the forum. I already feel right at home here. I do have a question regarding the FM radio capabilities of the phone. Here in Utah, the local NPR station has gone through the whole HD radio upgrade and apparently with an HD radio I could listen to three different channels while tuned into 90.1. Can I do that with the Incredible? Are there any apps that would make that possible? I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything.

The reason I want to do this is because I don't use my Incredible for talking, I just use it as a computer. For talking I use a cheap little "dumb phone" so to conserve battery while i'm out n about all day, i would love to be able to have the cell radio off while 3g is on. If anyone knows of any way/app to achieve this.
