I've looked around and haven't found a whole lot about Page Plus. But from what I can gather, they use the Verizon network, and you can use any (or most?) Verizon phone....like the Eris. And the reviews seem to be pretty positive.Anyone have any experience with Page Plus?cause their plans are cheap....much cheaper than Verizon.

I'm at my friends lake cabin, but the signal here is God awful. Nobody's phone can get a consistent signal, even on 1x. The nearest Verizon tower is a few miles away and it doesn't help that there are hills in the way. Text messages are the most reliable form of communication. But it keeps bouncing between 3g and 1x murdering my battery.
Its not huge deal since I'm doing stuff during the day, but browsing the web would be nice for killing downtime at night.
I would just like some tips on boosting a poor cellular signal. If it helps, we have a cellular booster attached to the TV antenna, and some tin foil.
Is there a way to increase the font size for the contact page for the Eris? Or maybe there's an app?

Anyway, does anyone know if PPC would get the updates as well, since they use VZW's network? I'm guessing no, they would have to set up their own distribution, but don't really know. If not, the only hope I have is for it to be rooted and flash the ROM (or whatever), right? So I should add to the bounty, right?

I get a page "You are not authorized to view this page" web page..Anyone else have this issue? Is this a limitation of Android? I've tried messing with all the settings and still nothing. No way to Log Into the page.I've even tried using Dolphin Browser, same thing.I believe we use Microsoft Sharepoint and other microsoft back end products

How do I change it to show our current location? I have tried adding cities in the Weather app.
Is there any way to put a notifications icon on the home page? It is a pain to have to go into menu every time and the slide down thing is very arkward.

So this cool bookmark widget...doesn't always work. I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but sometimes when I click on one of the bookmarks i've saved (especially after browsing the internet a bit) the phone will open the browser to the last page viewed - not the bookmark I selected.

Basically I'm wondering if the Eris could be used by my son as a sort of Android based iPod Touch.
For the past two days, I've had no service. I was using xtrROM4 when it first started. So I went back to EvilEris and it worked for a little while, then yesterday stopped working again. So I re-flashed xtrROM4 and it worked all night and this morning. Now it's gone again. Can't make a call, send a text, get online, nothing.
I'm at work, and I never had the 'best' signal, but I'd go by a window and be fine. Now nothing, no matter where I go.
So, I was one of the people with an Eris that was not receiving MMS messages anymore. Because of this I decided to do a factory reset at the suggestion of some users with the same problem and now that I have done one I no longer have service. I was able to download stuff from the marketplace, but no calls or texts. Whenever I make a phone call it says "welcome to verizon wireless, your service has been temporarily disconnected, please call your customer service representative." I have done *228 to reprogram and activate, I have done it to update roaming, and I pushed 3 and activated the phone again but said it was already active.

Sometimes I get 1 bar and sometimes none. Phone calls are garbled and have had several drops. My wife's LG phome on Verizon does much better.

When I try turning mobile network on it takes a long time like its searching then says it is on but when you go into "about phone" and look at mobile network it says it is not connected and there is no 3G or 1x display in the status bar. I am currently at school in the bay area and it worked for the first few days I was here, not sure exactly when it stopped cuz I mostly use wireless but noticed it when I wanted to do something off wireless. Pretty sure it is not a coverage issue because my friend with a moto droid gets 3G and it is almost as fast as his wireless connection at full bars. Also now I cant send or receive MMS due to this (apparently cant transmit over WiFi or voice signal), making my smart phone less useful than a dumb phone.
