Jun 12, 2010I was going to try a new ROM today, but since my last 2.2 update returned an "error" about not having an app2sd partition (and my SD card is getting somewhat "junky" anyway), I was thinking of just wiping the entire contents and reformatting prior to flashing.I made a mirror copy of my current SD contents to my computer (just in case), but I'm not sure if reformatting the SD is a bad idea.I'm also not sure at which point during the entire re-flashing process I should perform the reformat.Can anyone shed their opinion on if and when to do something like this?

Nov 24, 2009You know how google docs can allow you to share a doc to be edited real time just like a wave or anything else can?I think that idea should be extended to the code creation process so that coding can be done on the cloud as well.This way, depending on a system like mercurial to do a complex set of updates wouldn't be near as much because if two users were to edit the same document at the same time there would be only one submission.it would work just like this for 2+ workers on any single document! I think it's a great idea!

Nov 2, 2010After publishing a free app to Android Market I have received numerous solicitations from 3rd party app stores to publish my app such as handster.com and mobango.com. To date, I have not pursued that and my app is only available on Android Market.
I would love to hear some developer opinions about this: Is it better to stick to Android Market only, or does it make sense to publish your free apps in as many stores as you can? What do you think are the pros and cons to each approach?

Nov 10, 2010I've had the same app - solitaire installing for a couple of weeks. I've shut down the phone, didn't help. Pulled the battery didn't help. In applications, manage applications, I've uninstalled it but it's still there saying installing. What do I do now? I don't want to do a factory reset. Had to do it once and that was enough.

Jan 10, 2010So the large calendar widget that I placed on my home screen used to show dark little tabs in the corner of everyday that I had an event. While I was looking through it, all of the little tabs disappeared and I have no idea what days I have events unless I go into the actual calendar app. Is there any way to keep them there permanently?

The application says not to use the flash "too long" or damage may occur, but the "too long" time period is not defined. First, will having the flash on for an period of time damage it? Second, if so, any idea what maximum period of time would be "safe?"

I like the Eris a lot but there ARE a couple things that I think I'm getting tired of. First is it's slow most of the time, and second, the camera is just not living up to my expectations. Oct 30, 2010I switched back to Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 but not through nandroid. Just a start over. So for some reason I can install everything back except Angry Birds. I know that is really bad luck. Any app but angry birds. So I have tried all the ways I can think of. Through the market, downloaded from getjar and install through Astro, and I have put it in the system application folder through root explorer. Also tried installing through root explorer. And Angry Birds lite won't install either.

Some seem to think in 2.1 Android's memory management is somehow messing with services that Pandora needs to run. Would installing it as a system app help in any way? Ive been playing with the stock MP3 player, and likes the way it intergrates with the lock screen, but I find that it repeats lots of songs while in shuffle mode on playlists ><. I tried a few of the Meridian and Mixzing players, and really don't like the interfaces, and Intergration into the lock screen is a major + for me which neiither of these have. I guess what i'm looking for is something to replace my ipod 30GB (4th Gen?) thats slowly showing its age. That was the most user friendly, functional music player ive ever used.
