View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best AV app out currently? Now I know a lot of you guys will say "what is the point". Think outside of the consumer market box. Dell and other companies are targeting Corporate America. You know full and well that upper management will want to see AV on these devices. You also have to think about what you are attaching your device to as well. Docs to go manipulates Excel documents and so on. Even if the defs target Windows based virus activity that is a good start in protecting your PC and email from virus activity. I stumbled on Antivirus Free

View 21 Replies View RelatedI posted b this in the troubleshooting forum, but few people look there, I guess. I tried to update mixing and it failed a few times. I didn't think much about it until I decided to spring for the paid version. I bought it, but it wouldn't upload either. So I went to un install mixing in hopes that a fresh re-install would fix the problem, but there's no option to un install. I have my apps backed up, so I tried un installing mixzing that way, but it fails. The app itself works fine. Mixing may have been bundled with UD 9.8, my current ROM, but I'm not sure. I guess ultimately what I need help with is completely removing the app so I can start with a fresh install.(Switching, or even reinstalling the ROM is simply not an option. It takes me days to get my phone back the way I like it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue with my stock Settings manager being missing after a miss-click by my girlfriend when she was using my phone. She accidentally hit the "Install" for the FRG22d when I had my droid running the original 2.2 rooted. It installed, and came back up. Root was gone, and so was the option to use Settings. It still shows when I hit the menu button, but if I select it, nothing happens. And it is also no longer listed in my app drawer now. I re-rooted my phone hoping it would bring it back, but it's still gone. Can I reinstall the APK for it? If so, how would I go about doing that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedEverytime I open up the yahoo messenger app it literally makes my DX burning hot drains the hell out of my battery, and it slows to a crawl. Shutting down the app only seems to help if it hasn't been open for very long and I normally have to do a complete phone restart to get it back to normal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have seen many posts for this but all old and such and none really evo. So I hear there is really no need for antivirus. Is this true? Cuz I know it eats a ton of my battery. Just seen a lot of mixed reviews on this subject so I thought I'd ask the pros.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Droid X a couple of weeks ago (2.2 and Rooted). It wanted to do some auto app updates and I told it to do them all not sure if it was before or after that that I noticed a red light by the ear "piece/speaker" and the phone was on and a battery level warning came on which I thought was premature. I plugged in the power cord the light went to green and I looked over a few minutes later and it was dead. I could be a little off on what happened when but that's what happened.
It wont power on now and I've tried holding a few different buttons while powering on and still nothing. I did check the settings the other day and it was successfully backing itself up not sure how to use that backup though. I just looked over after typing this post and the Motorola "M" was on the screen but I couldn't get it to do anything so I pulled the battery and tried again to boot it and nothing.
I thought this thread might be a good way for developers to see the type of apps that people want, and hopefully write them.
I would like an app that shows me on a map which cell tower my phone is using, signal strength, etc.
Does it count as antivirus? I've been browsing some threads and people say antivirus apps are causing texting to force close and randomly delete all messages. I keep having this problem and was wondering if uninstalling Wave secure would help

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a lot about the task killer and AV apps here, but I am wondering if
1 - are TK apps really nessessary? Does it help with battery life and why would you want to kill an app? I've read somewhere that TK apps are not nesscessary b/c android is a linux system.
2 - Can we get viruses on our phones? Are the Free AV apps we get here in Canada, since we cannot buy apps, good? Do they really protect our phones?
I had a message pop up saying I needed a spyware, malwRe, antivirus program. Any ideas about this? This only happened after I downloaded a chess game off the market

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.
