I've had the same app - solitaire installing for a couple of weeks. I've shut down the phone, didn't help. Pulled the battery didn't help. In applications, manage applications, I've uninstalled it but it's still there saying installing. What do I do now? I don't want to do a factory reset. Had to do it once and that was enough.

Many times it seems I will get notification that an app (such as chompsms or twidroyd) has updates just a day or two after I just updated that app because I rec'd a notification. I know you can check the version number and some apps even tell you what is being updated, but I never know what the latest build number is anyway so I always just push update anyway. So, I guess my question is, when I receive these notifications on consecutive days like that are they really just the same update and does it hurt to dl the update if you already have?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs titled, I installed the leaked OTA tonight for the 720p recorder,boot animation, etc.It did reboot 3 times initially right after the update but I was expecting that.I waited about 30 minutes for good measure and then restored all of my apps and data with Titanium. Ever since then my phone has been rebooting itself for no reason. I have noticed that it does it more when I am launching certain programs. For a while it was just rebooting one right after the other and the home screen never came available, it just had a Loading... notification. Once it finally did load the home screen it looked like the Weatherbug was struggling to load and as soon as I click on it, the phone shuts off.I uninstalled the app and it hasn't been rebooting as much but for a phone that has never ever had one problem I'm kind of inconvenienced by this.

However, when you open the trash folder, there is nothing there (I regularly delete my emails from it). Why this is happening and how to correct it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't have a droid eris, i have a my touch 3g with a ported 2.1 Eris rom. As far as I know the changes are minimal so hopefully you guys can help me. In a nutshell, the phone is constantly syncing with something. It still happens when I Taskill mostly everything, and i tried to use Droidwall to work out what it was but my results were a bit stuffy, i couldn't accurately determine what it was. Facebook perhaps? i have it set to sync every 8 hours. So basically what iam asking is does anyone know what it could be and how I may sort it out? Failing that, does anyone know of an app that will tell me exactly what's using the connection at the time?

I am getting constant updates from my gmail saying I have a new email, when my inbox is the same. Do I need to reflash? I'm using one of the original patched versions.

It only ever gets to the silver htc on the black screen then it goes completely black and then goes back to the red smear for verison and the little droids then over again. I've already taken out the battery and tried again but no help.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've kind of made a similar post about this before. I keep having this issue where ill be txting someone and all of a sudden ill get constant force closes on my messaging app followed by it then losing all my threaded txts.
I'm using the native app with sms pop up and a sms widget that just makes my icon look like the eclair version.
I also sometimes have an issue where ill be txting, get a force close error and it will delete whatever txt I just received without being able to read it...
I switched back to Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 but not through nandroid. Just a start over. So for some reason I can install everything back except Angry Birds. I know that is really bad luck. Any app but angry birds. So I have tried all the ways I can think of. Through the market, downloaded from getjar and install through Astro, and I have put it in the system application folder through root explorer. Also tried installing through root explorer. And Angry Birds lite won't install either.

Some seem to think in 2.1 Android's memory management is somehow messing with services that Pandora needs to run. Would installing it as a system app help in any way? I am running Cyanogen 5.0.5.7 if it matters at all.

NOTE: I DIDN'T LOSE ANY DATA AFTER THE UPGRADE, but some people might. I didn't have much installed/setup. My gmail and contacts synced up, my messages were still all there, but my home screens were different.

As far as I know, Leak Jumpers are out of luck. From what i've heard, V3 leak = Official OTA..(or pretty dang close)
First, download this OTA file:

Rename it to update.zip and put it on the SD card in the TOP LEVEL (root) Directory. So if your SD Card comes up as the F: drive, it will be F:update.zip

From what I understand, the security of Android doesn't allow any app to turn GPS on/off. My question is, since installing Mobile Defense as a system application allows it to turn my GPS on, would installing Toggle Settings as a system app enable the same feature? Does anybody know of a way around this or another app that is similar and can toggle GPS settings?

My problem is, when a call is received while the user is not currently using my application, the dialog is not displayed until the application is manually started. I would like either for the dialog to be displayed on top of what ever context the user is currently in, or that my application will be focused.
How is this done?
Am I right to say that you cannot use an app like apps2sd to install apps on sd card without ROOT?

In the 2.1 app it simply showed my name and the other persons name; no pic of us next to every text. Is there anyway to disable showing the pics in the 2.2 app? Really don't see the need to have a pic next to each text.

I don't have the brightness all the way up to save on battery life, and I don't have a screen protector on. With spring/summer coming up soon, anyone else find this as annoying as I do?! I can turn it back to portrait and it immediately re-appears. This only happens when I pick it up - It can be laying in the seat in LS mode and be perfectly visible, as soon as I pick it up, it goes dark. If this is a feature, what is the benefit?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola Droid and my roommate just bought the HTC Droid Eris. He has 1000+ contacts in his Google Account and only wants to display ones with phone numbers. The MOTO Droid does this easily - Dialer > Contacts > Menu >Display Options > "Only display contacts with phone numbers" I'm baffled - the Droid Eris doesn't have this option? Is this an HTC Sense thing or an Android 1.5 thing? And, have any Droid Eris owners found this annoying and found a work around?
