HTC Droid Eris :: Way To Import Music Onto Phone?
Aug 19, 2010I've had my Eris for a couple months now, and initially came on this site and learned how to use double twist to import my Itunes music onto my Eris. Recently, this has not worked. Something about having to use droid sync on my computer and telephone. I downloaded HTC Sync onto my computer and cannot figure out for the life of me how to use the thing. It tells me I need to insert my Microsoft Office XP Small Business cd, I do not have this so I cant do that. Please, someone please tell me the easiest way to import my music onto my phone? This is very frustrating. I certainly am not the most intelligent person when it comes to this kind of thing, so if anyone has a solution to my problem, please be sure to include minor details. I really appreciate any input.

Aug 4, 2010I just activated replacement Eris number two. Upon plugging it into my PC, the phone started playing a loud music track at maximum volume. When I went to adjust my volume, I found that this sound was being controlled by my ringtone volume and not media volume (interesting). I did a reboot of the phone and was greeted by the sound as soon as I plugged it in. The sound's duration is about thirty seconds.
I've plugged it into the other computer here and had the same issue. I've had it plugged into my computer for about an hour, and I have heard the music start up without notice twice so far. I did a google search as well as a search here and haven't found another user with this peculiar (if amusing/irritating) issue. I can upload a video/soundclip if wanted. I was considering rooting but I don't want to have to go to the trouble if I'm going to have to send this phone back to Verizon.

Jan 21, 2010I went to use my Eris as a music player for the first time. I plugged in my headphones and tested it out by playing a song. The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).

Oct 8, 2010While my phone is in the locked/sleep mode, occasionally the music player starts up. I'm guessing I somehow push a button to start it - but can't seem to make it happen when I try. And - I don't realize it is playing until I unlock my phone, and see the music title scrolling across the screen.

Dec 30, 2009Whenever I turn on Pandora then lock my phone, it will finish the current song then stop. So I have to keep the phone awake, or keep unlocking it to keep Pandora playing. Has anyone else run into this issue, and does anyone know of a remedy?

Feb 17, 2010So my Eris no matter what player I use will eventually start skipping. It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?

Mar 2, 2010how y'all organize your music on the Eris. I have been just clicking and dragging from the computer to the SD card in a folder created "music." I would like to group all my songs into genres (blues, rock, etc.). The only way I've been able to do this is by adding songs to a playlist on the phone, which is way to time consuming. I have yet to sync my desktop w/ my computer. Would this make organizing any easier?

May 3, 2010I've tried several different methods for getting one of my iTunes playlists moved to the Eris but I'm having a difficult time. I finally just dragged and dropped a bunch of music over but how do I organize that into a playlist? Do I have to do it from the Eris itself (which involves adding every single song, one by one)? I have tried mounting the SD card and creating a playlist folder under the main music folder but that doesn't seem to work. The playlist is already created on the Eris and I moved a few songs over for testing, but when the card is mounted to the PC I can't find how the playlist is stored.....am I making any sense? Sure hope so.

Jan 20, 2010Am I the only one who thinks the sound quality of the Eris SUCKS? No matter what player I use (stock player, TuneWiki, MixZing, DroidLive, Last, LastFM, Pandora (to a slightly lesser degree)), music comes out incredibly muddled, like I'm listening through pillows over my ears. True of any of 5 pairs of headphones I use (and I'm not about to go out and buy $100 headphones), including through my car adapter.

Jan 24, 2010I'm trying to get a subset of my music from my laptop onto my Eris. Can't use iTunes (obviously). iTunes Agent sets up just fine, but then when I hit the "sync" button, says "no connected devices" or words to that effect. (Even though it saw the Eris just fine when going through setup!) Doubletwist doesn't see all my playlists (and it DOES see playlists that were deleted). I have it syncing a couple of playlists, just to see how it goes. Salling Media Sync seemed like a great idea (it saw all the right playlists) but it crashes every time on the first song. And if I take that song out of the sync, it crashes on the "new" first song.
I've looked at MediaMonkey and TuneWiki and (for various reasons) didn't like them. I'd be fine with DoubleTwist if only it saw the real playlists... (and yes, I've searched the forums, apologies in advance if I missed the answer)
