Aug 28, 2012I use Google Play Music. Over time, I've chosen certain albums to store locally ('pin') from music.google.com on my Android 2.4 phone. Now I wish to clear these out from the phone in the name of space and begin anew.
Without an apparent way to do this on the phone (?), I connected the device to a computer and wiped out the Android music directory's files manually.
Then, when I returned to my phone's Play Music app and attempted to choose new music to pin to the device, Android is re-downloading *all* of the music I had previously chosen to store locally, completely defeating the purpose of this pursuit.
Is there a way to start fresh on the phone without deleting music from URL....? I simply want to download a select few albums to a device from my Play Music account, not everything I have ever selected to pin since my history with the service.

May 20, 2010is there a way to get rid of the constant message telling me I have an update ready to be installed? Or delete this update I have downloaded in order to stay on 1.5 without the reminders?After downloading I stopped short of installing the update thinking maybe I should check forums and see if there are any probs. Sure enough, it looks like that's all there is.

Feb 24, 2010Whenever i enter a new contact they stay in my phone for about a minute and then i go back to my "people" page and they have disappeared (i see them for a second, then they disappear) They are contacts i have entered manually. all of the contacts show up on my gmail page. but they arent on my phone. I have tried it with syncing on and off. same thing happens. So i am just trying to get some info on this before i try a factory reset(dont really want to)

Feb 22, 2010I am having a problem with my emails in the native Eris email app deleting after a few days. I have tried every setting that I can think of to get this to stop but no luck. The Gmail app does not delte the messages like the nmative app does. I have the native app set up with my work email and I need to keep messages around until I delete them. Just to stress have no problems with Gmail deleting just the native app which I have set up exclusively to my work email.

Jan 30, 2010I've been enjoying my phone so far but now its running kinda slow in the message department, so I figured I'd clear out all my messages, all 3000+ plus. Android just doesn't want to delete them, I've heard that it can take 5+ minutes to delete message threads 500+, I'm screwed because one of my threads has over 2000! This phone should be storing older txt messages to the sdcard anyway, not sure why it wouldn't. Basically this thread was made to complain how crappy clearing out messages was.

Using the stock Message Delete just results in a force close after a few minutes, and using the app called SMS Quick Delete results in nothing at all, even after running for almost half an hour.
