I download songs and I know how to change their titles using APEX and on the computer but they all have unknown artists. I was just wondering how to modify the Artist name.. If poosible?

How easy or difficult would it be to get the stock Android messaging app (like on the Nexus One) and modify the apk so that it will install on an UNROOTED Droid Eris? Because if you download the stock messaging apk, it won't install because it is basically named the same thing as my HTC messaging app that comes stock. So if Handcent and all installs as seperate messaging apps, is there a way to make the stock Android messaging different so that it will install? If I can modify the Handcent apk, resign, and install it successfully, shouldn't there be a way to modify the stock Android messaging app and install it without root?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIssues with google music not recognizing music stored on their sd card, if their phone already has internal storage, but I have noticed on my HTC Amaze that google music will only recognize the music on the internal storage and not all of the songs I had on my micro sd. Is it possible to modify google music to read or find music from more than one location on your phone?
PS I have more music than what would fit on the the phones storage so moving songs from micro SD to the phones internal storage would not be an option.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my Eris today. I am trying to switch my pics and infor from my old Sd card (it was only 256MB) to the new one that came with the phone.
Also I cant seem to save any pics, or at least I cant find them. When I put the old SD in, I can see those ones, just not new ones.
I switched from a G1 to this. So far they seem pretty simliar, this is the only issue I am having. I love how much lighter this phone is. My G1 was way to bulky for me.
Manually enter contact info? For starters, here are two things I'd sure like to see -
...Automatically enter dashes in phone numbers (after third and sixth digit)
...Change default layout for entering phone info (start with home phone, then work, then cell)
Says there is no weather info for St Claire Shores. I don't know where St Claire Shores is. Considering I am 6 hours from the nearest beach.

I am using ver. 3.0.5422. it goes thru the sync operation but does modify calendar, people.bookmarks. music. photos or documents.

I setup both my company exchange email and a Gmail account on my new Eris. However, the notifications for a new email on the exchange account only say "1 new email (exchange active sync)", instead of specifying the subject/sender. If I receive a Gmail notification, it shows all the info in the notifications screen.Is there a setting somewhere that affects this? I'd like to be able to see the info in the notification screen without opening up the mail app. I've searched my heart out but couldn't find any solutions. A similar thread from October is here.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the phone info, found by dialing *#*#4636#*#* one button in this is "Turn off radio".I'm interested to know if this could be used to work around the current inability to do airplane mode and enable wifi at the same time on the Eris. Could you use this option to turn off the radio, disable mobile network, and then enable wifi?Has anyone seen if this works, and if turning the radio on and off is as easy as finding this button? I'm a bit afraid to try it myself right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI first noticed a problem when trying to launch the Weather app on my 2.1 equipped Droid Eris. Had it for about a week now. The app crashes every time. Things I have tried:
- hard reset of the phone
- remove battery
- reset Sense to defaults
- cleared application data/cache from weather apps
I was going to try this last one again when I noticed something very very weird. When I got to Manage Applications, and click on "Weather" it actually takes me to the application info for Quickoffice! It now seems like all the weather apps (and some others) are messed up. If I click on "HTC Weather Wallpaper" it takes me to application info for Visual Voicemail. " HTC Weather sync provider" gives me app info for Clock Widget. If I click on Clock Widget, I get info for Mabilo Wallpapers (app from store). What the heck is goin on here....
Any suggestions on what to try? I have searched Google and the various forums extensively and cant find any instances of other people having this issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I'm pretty terrible with birthdays and other important dates so I started adding some of them to the calender. Suddenly I thought to myself, "Hey is there a way I can do birthdays, anniversaries etc from my people contacts and facebook and link them in one shot to my calender." Is this possible? Is it possible to have it send daily reminders as the date approaches? I see the option to send a reminder a day to a week in advance but does it send out reminder every day from the reminder point to the day of the event?

If would grab the title, artist, etc (configurable) and use the text to speech component to speak it. This way you can keep your device tucked away and still know what track you are listening to.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI own a Mazda CX-9 that includes wireless music access via Bluetooth. Listening to music wirelessly is not an issue, but I used to be able to see the song that was playing on my CX-9's LCD display. (That's when I was using a rooted Droid Bionic running a custom ROM). But I've since upgraded to an HTC Rezound and lost the ability to see the current song that's playing on my phone.
Is this an issue with the Bluetooth version? Music player? Both???
I have a Motorola Triumph (running CM7) and stream music via Bluetooth to my Sony DSX-S300BTX head unit in my car. The quality and consistency of the audio is flawless and can also use my head unit to change tracks and pause/play music with no issue. I recently began using Google Music on my PC and it made sense to use the Android app for accessibility purposes. The only drawback I have experienced is that the artist and song title info is no longer shown on my car stereo. This functionality worked perfectly using my previous phone (WP7 LG Quantum w/ Zune Pass) and on my current Triumph with the stock music app packaged with any version of CM7. I download and listen to quite a bit of new music and this functionality is pretty much a must have feature for my primary music app.
The only workaround I have thought of would be to sync music via the Google Music app and then listen to it via the stock music app. This is less than ideal due to the fact it involves 2 apps and takes away the option to stream music not downloaded to my phone. Also, the Google Music app has a much nicer UI compared to the stock app. If you don't know of a specific fix, but have some knowledge of A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles.
My music has ID3 version 2.3 tags (most common). About 10% (2,500) of my music is AAC (.m4a) format which is MP4 tagged. All my songs are very organized into 11 different genres. Everything has a title, artist, and album assigned to it and looks great in my iPhone, iTunes, MediaMonkey, and Mp3tag program. When I add my music to my Samsung Fascinate, it reads the tags of my .m4a music but when I go to genre, things are messy. It appears to be putting albums in the genre section (only with .m4a files). Example: Lets say I have an .m4a of Garth Brooks, Thunder Rolls, No Fences (album), Country (genre)In my Samsung Fascinate player, it will be found in the genre section under "No Fences". If I click "Country" genre where it should be, the song will not be listed there. It seems to be reading .m4a Album tags as genre and not reading the appropriate tag "Country".I hope someone can help straighten this out without having either manually edit each song tag OR convert all of them to .mp3 and deplete the song quality.

It'll also start playing a song skip to another , then another then back to the original and then call my voicemail. Other times when I dont even have a music app open and try to send a text it'll start playing a song. Anyone have any clue what is going on?

I would like to group all my songs into genres (blues, rock, etc.). The only way I've been able to do this is by adding songs to a playlist on the phone, which is way to time consuming. I have yet to sync my desktop w/ my computer. Would this make organizing any easier?

"Now playing", "Shuffle all", "Play all", "Add to playlist", "Change order", "Set as ringtone", "Repeat", Properties", Shuffle On/Off"...
I used it to replace the stock app because i hate the look of it. this is the best music app i have found. also comes with some nice widgets.
