Apr 27, 2010This is my first post here. Got my Desire recently and i am loving the phone. Like other i was having battery issues but following the advice here i was able to extend the battery life considerably, so im hoping someone here may know something about an issue om having.
Im using the Handscent app for text messaging. However over the last week or so when i go to open a new message, the application freezes and shuts down. When i go to open it again all my messages are deleted. They are also missing in the standard messaging app that came with the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it did did you find a way to stop it happening?

Dec 28, 2009Starting yesterday I have been getting duplicate text messages sometimes 3 of the same one. I've been using sms popup for over a week now and haven't had a problem until yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and If they have sms pop-up or is it a Sprint or Hero thing? TIA for any insight or solutions.

Nov 5, 2010My wife has noticed that when she does a text message, once it has gone over a certain character limit (which seems to be about 50 characters), when she hits send a message comes up saying 'Converting to MMS' (or something like that). On all our other phones, if you do a long text like this it just sends the message as mutliple texts instead of converting to mms.
What this means is that as it goes as mms instead of a text message, she gets charged for it (she gets unlimted texts on her plan, but this doesnt include mms).
Is this normal with the SGS, or is there a way to stop it converting to mms?

HTC Desire : When Drawing Unlock Screen - Big Lag Till Home Screen Comes Up
Nov 5, 2010Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.

Jun 21, 2010How to remove the display of text messages on the unlock screen. When I receive a new message all I want is to see the icon up in the notification area and the green blinking light. May 19, 2010This forum has saved me from going insane many times now.. but I have searched for an answer to this question but cannot find anything. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.
