Im a bit sick of having to use the powerbutton (on the top of my desire) everytime I have to either lock og unlock the screen. Is there a setting or an app that will let me lock and unlock the screen solely by using the touchscreen?

I'm having an issue with my phone. Most of the time my lock screen is focused on screen 4 (I use 5 screens) instead of on whatever screen I go to when unlocked. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm using Launcherpro if that makes a difference.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNoticed today that when the phone is unlocked with the power/unlock button, that the screen starts off at a significantly lower brightness, but the light sensor seems to then kick in and the correct brightness is then displayed after. This happens for only a fraction of a second, but is quite jerky and immediate.Is this normal, or should the screen brightness remain one constant level from unlock? Of course, changing when it should based on lighting conditions.The same also happens when the screen is about to sleep. Once the lock button is pushed, the screen brightness almost notches down in 2 steps. First at half the brightness, or so, and then off completely. Again, not necessarily smooth, but quite jarring.Again, is this normal of other Captivates?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock my phone so I can turn off the stream I am listening to in the app StreamFurious Pro but I can not. When I tap the red button right of the track ball, the lock screen comes up, but then when I swipe down it only slides part of the way and then starts to shimmy or bounce up and down. I can see the browser window I last had open below it, but I cant get to anything because the lock won't slide all the way down. Even when that grey bar does get all the way gone, it bounces back a second later.
The menu button does not respond. If I hit the red button again to send it to sleep, it does. Letting it sit does not help. When I hit the red button again, it either shows the grey bar you grab still bouncing, or the lock screen again, but the same thing then happens. I have had streamFurious Pro for awhile and never had this issue. I have not added any new apps since yesterday AM and used my phone just fine between then and now.
We are writing an app to substitute screen/pattern lock on G1. Unfortunately, it is impossible to substitute the original screen lock app with a 3rd party one. The only option left is if we can UNLOCK the phone from a service running in the background when G1 is locked. Is it possible? Is there interface to Pattern/Screen lock? What is KeyguardManager for?

However, I would like to configure the phone to use only the hardware button and the lock pattern in order to use the phone, and bypass the 'slide down' process.
I have tried various permutations and addons but to no avail ...
So to recap:
1 - press upper hardware button
2 - enter lock pattern
On my blackberry and all previous phones, I was able to customize a text banner, and I'm not finding a way to do it on my Motorola Droid. I usually put my email address on the lock/unlock screen so that if some honest person was to find my phone, they could email me to let me know they found it. Otherwise, it would just be lost. I know that there are theme apps that I can install, and I'm not sure if they have that capability, but if anything, I'd prefer not to have to download any apps to do this. I've also thought about creating a wallpaper that has that information in it, and setting that as my wallpaper. It seems like too much work.

but the FLAG_TURN_SCREEN_ON is only available in SDK 2.0 or later.
I just only use Donut(SDK 1.6).

Dad was using the phone trying to send a facebook message and got impatient. Then the screen went black.I'm using Lock 2.0,but the original lock on my Droid and when I slide it to unlock my screen turns black.I've turned it off twice and took out the battery.

I want exactly the same actions of iOS lock screen notifications, i.e. when I receive an e-mail I'd like to see it on the screen and if I touch/slide it, I'd like it to be unlocked into the Gmail app or if it's a Whatsapp message, I'd like to see the Whatsapp message screen instead of the home and afterwards launching Whatsapp and going into the selected message.

Is there a way to have a phone lock on the Desire, in the way it is used on "normal" phones? What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.

Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy friend had an HTC Desire HD and it impressed me so much i actually wanted to but it off him, even though its about 2x worse in specs than my current phone, but it has the most beautiful user interface i've ever seen.I'm talking about the HTC DHD weather unlock animation.I first noticed it when i asked the friend to make a call and upon unlocking the phone the screen froze over and it started to snow, it was pretty amazed by how good it looked, and how accurate it was since it was really snowing outside.Here it is. I think this is one of the best looking widgets/launchers i've ever seen, and i have a question, not as much as a request.I do know that this is "exclusive" to sense, most likely 3.0, but would it be theoretically possible to rip out the launcher/weather widget you saw in the video? I'm currently using a SONY Xperia GO , and i would like to port the needed things to it from sense (3.0?) to it. How do i do it? i've downloaded 20+ widgets/apps from the play store and didn't find anything ever NEAR as beautiful, or as functional. Most of the apps/widgets require you to click on the widget to see a weather animation, thats not what i want.
How do i port the sense (3.0?) launcher/weather widget? Is there an app that is as functional and looks similar?

I am also worried that, over time and regular use, it will stop working. I am looking for a simple application that will do it for me - at least turn it off, I suspect that turning on will be more of a challenge.
