Apr 4, 2010Every time I turn my phone on it resends the last 4 text messages to everyone. Is there any where I can stop this besides deleting my text messages.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Duplicate Text Messages / Stop It
Dec 28, 2009Starting yesterday I have been getting duplicate text messages sometimes 3 of the same one. I've been using sms popup for over a week now and haven't had a problem until yesterday. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and If they have sms pop-up or is it a Sprint or Hero thing? TIA for any insight or solutions.

Sep 17, 2010So the charging port broke on my old hero, and i got a replacement. And i downloaded sms backup to take all my texts and turn them into an xml file on the sd card. On the new hero, i downloaded the same program but it does not seem to want to restore the texts back.
Any ideas on how to take that XML file and turn them back into text messages?

Nov 23, 2009I was surprised that I really couldn't find much on this, but I can't be the only one with the problem. My Droid Eris is sending blank text messages repeatedly. Is the phone faulty or is there some setting that I can change. I downloaded ChompSMS hoping that would fix it, but it doesn't appear to. When I open my text messaging program, many times it will send a blank text to the last person I texted. The other day, I turned the phone off and turned it back on and it sent a blank text at the exact time I turned it on.

Jul 27, 2010My sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

Dec 2, 2009I've searched on here and can't find the threads. How do you turn off the screen when in a call? I'm tired of hanging up or pushing buttons while talking. And is there a better lock screen out there? I've looked on the market place, but haven't really found any. I want to have the choice of unlocking my phone when it rings before I can answer.
Also,I get delays on my messages where I can see there is a blinking light, but the sound won't notify me of a text until I wake up the phone. Anyone else getting hits? I use Handcent.

Apr 13, 2010Since upgrading to 2.1, I've been receiving a text alert for every voicemail I get. I've black listed these messages in the past. Since the update, the text alert comes from the individual. If I black list it, I don't get any text from that person.

Aug 9, 2010I use Handcent for my SMS text app. I have about 6k texts on my phone now. Haven't deleted any since 2.1 came out and I needed to format. Sometimes my phone CRAWLS when receiving or sending a text. I mean it'll take 2-3 minutes just to send or receive a text. Handcent will hang for that long. When I power down the phone it usually improves responsiveness in Handcent but I'm wondering if I should delete the threads? Will I notice an improvement in text speed? I have no idea how much space a text message uses but I'm also wondering if I'm wasting internal memory space too. I don't have many picture messages. They are mostly just text messages.

Lately however it has developed an issue receiving text messages, I get phone calls from people who have been "texting me all day" and I wont receive a single message. I want to back up my contacts and my text messages and be able to restore them.Some of my contacts are associated to phone instead of Gmail. I dont know how that happened or what I can do to associate them to Gmail. Ideally I would like to perform a back up for personal use instead of on google, and restore when ever I need it.
- How can I convert existing contacts from phone to Gmail status.
- How can I perform a back up and restore, independent of Gmail syncing.
- I used a back up tool to send my text messages as mail to Gmail. I am ok with that but would ideally want to restore the messages back to my phone too. Is it possible.
